Bill Maher, the erstwhile liberal icon who is now loathed by many on the left due to his dislike of cancel culture and wokeness, said Democrats are losing elections because “liberals think this country is full of dumb white people.’”

Yes. Yes, they do. This is not an exaggeration. Worse, they hate these “dumb white people”.

Pondering a Democrat campaign slogan for 2024, the HBO host advised, “I tell you what I have ruled out is, ‘Vote Democrat because white people suck.’”

That might as well be their slogan, though. Everything they do is based upon this belief.

Maher Keeps Inching Closer to Conservatism

"But I find that a disingenuous argument because I don't think that is what people are objecting to," the host reacted. "They are not objecting to Black history being taught. There are other things going on in the schools."

"Like what?" Dyson asked.

"Like separating children by race," Maher responded, "and describing them either as oppressed or oppressor. I mean, there are children coming home who feel traumatized by this. That's what parents are objecting to."

Maher gets it. He just refuses to take the next mental step. He keeps thinking that the Left is good, except for all these ridiculous things it believes. He keeps thinking that if the Left just returned to normalcy on these few things, then everything would be all right.

The problem is that it’s not just a few things, and they are incapable of returning to normalcy. The modern Left is defined by these positions. Take it or leave them.

That’s what you get from Dave Chappelle? That he’s afraid to say what he really thinks? And it’s not hate speech just because you disagree with it. Nor is it phobic. Phobic comes from the Greek word for something one fears irrationally, like spiders or germs, but now is used as a suffix for anything you just don’t like.”

“Also in the category of, ‘we just don’t like it, so we’re pretending it’s something else,’ is the word ‘violence,’” Maher later added. “Last year, there was a staff mutiny at the CBS drama ‘All Rise’ when some of the writers — I’m sorry, I meant victims — took issue with a scene where two women are in an elevator and a naked man gets on, and they just continue talking calmly. And if you think that’s offensive, you should see how the guy pushed the button. But the writers on this show found the scene objectionable and sent off an email saying, ‘Two women would not commonly continue a conversation with a naked white guy running into the elevator. That is violence.’ No, it’s not. Violence is when it hurts. It usually involves leaving a mark of some kind. Of course, innumerable things can lead to violence, but I’m sorry, you can’t take that word and use it for stuff that’s just scary to you or just verbal, which is something I literally learned in kindergarten. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but … if you don’t know how that one ends, you need to repeat kindergarten.”

Maher said, “I was looking at the pictures from the Met Gala…I noticed something that I’ve seen, having been out at a few parties since the pandemic began, and that is, the people going to the party don’t wear masks. But the servers wear masks. … I mean, that just — there’s something about this that’s not liberal to me. I mean, these are the liberal swells of the world, and — but if we’re all vaccinated and — do the germs know who the good people are? It just seems a little wrong.”

He added, “Let’s just make the help wear the masks, that’s the liberal approach?”

Maher further stated that if you want people to wear masks, “don’t lie and do stupid stuff with them.”

He’s discussing a poll in the New York Times.

[T]he question was, what do you think the chances are that you would have to go to the hospital if you got COVID.

For the record, the answer to that question is less than 5%. But what did Democrats respond?

“41% of Democrats thought it was over 50%, another 28% thought it was 20 to 49%. So 70% of Democrats thought it was way, way, way higher than it really was. Liberal media has to take a little responsibility for that, for scaring the s*** out of people.”

He’s absolutely right. Democrats don’t have a clue on this. They’re frightened beyond reason. And the reason they’re frightened is because of the liberal media.

But then he stops. He doesn’t continue down the path. He just blames the media and says they need to get their act together. They don’t need to get their act together. They’re scaring you on purpose.

They frightened you last year to win an election. Now they’re working hand-in-hand with a government that needs you scared so that they can control you.

This isn’t an accident. None of this is.
