Organization That Sued MLB Over All Star Game Brutally Weighs in on Stacey Abrams – PJ Media

Their points?

Moving the MLB All-Star game from Atlanta to Denver has done real harm to the communities of Atlanta, Cobb County and the state of Georgia:

• More than 8000 hotel reservations were canceled.

• Revenues from ticket sales, concessions and events at Truist Park – including the Futures Game and Home Run Derby Contest – by the more than 41,000 fans expected, were lost.

• According to Cobb County Chief Financial Officer William Volckmann, the county would receive a “robust return” on its roughly $2 million investment to host the events. Previous MLB All-Star events have generated between $37 million and $190 million for their host communities.

• Atlanta is 51% African-American, Denver is 9% African-American. U.S. Census data indicates there are roughly 7.5 times more African-American-owned businesses in Georgia than Colorado.

 

All of this lost from Georgia and Atlanta.

Their CEO, Alfredo Ortiz, made a brutal statement on Thursday regarding the Abrams campaign announcement:

“I’m appalled that someone who purposely harmed the small business community of Atlanta by encouraging Major League Baseball to move the All-Star Game to Colorado would have the nerve to run for Georgia Governor. If she has campaign ambitions, I suggest she run for Mayor of Denver. She’s done much more to help the citizens there than anyone in Georgia.”

True. She actively harmed her entire state, and now she thinks she should be their governor.

Ridiculous.

Wait, I can’t remember. Is she already the governor or not entitled to be governor?

“Regardless of the pandemic or the storms, the obstacles in our way or the forces determined to divide us, my job has been to just put my head down and keep working toward one Georgia,” she says in her video. “Because in the end, we are one Georgia.”

She’s going to have an uphill climb. If I were her opponent, I would just remind everyone constantly that she’s the reason there was no MLB All-Star Game in Georgia this year.

Then I’d tie her to President Joe Biden (D-USA) and every single one of his failing policies.

And it wasn’t even close.

There were no “shenanigans”.

She’s mentally unsound if she can’t accept the results.

 

Yet fact-checkers with PolitiFact and USA Today found "no proof" and "little empirical evidence" that Kemp stole the election.

While Kemp did clean up the voter rolls before the election (removing 1.4 million active voters from the rolls) and putting holds on some voters, University of Georgia professor Charles Bullock told USA Today that the holds would not have stopped Georgians from voting.

"All the person had to do is show up with their photo ID, which everyone has to have, and they would've been allowed to vote," Bullock explained.

I wonder if she really believes that she’s “entitled” to become Governor. I bet she does. I doubt that was a slip of the tongue. Thank God she’s not Governor with an attitude like that.

She also has a history of, shall we say, problems with the truth:

Abrams has maintained for years that the election was “stolen” from her, even though turnout in Georgia increased in 2018 over the state’s voting average between 1982 and 2014, according to FiveThirtyEight. The black vote in Georgia, however, saw its lowest share of the electorate since 2006 following Abrams’ extensive get-out-the-vote effort in 2020.

Still, Abrams has become a hero on the Left for her claims about voting rights. Earlier this year, she was instrumental in promoting misinformation about the Georgia voting bill that was passed, calling it a “redux of Jim Crow in a suit and tie.” When that misinformation caused the MLB to move its all start game out of Georgia, Abrams denounced the decision.

The Washington Post at the time fact-checked false claims about the bill, some of which Abrams herself had pushed, ultimately finding that the experts it spoke to said “the net effect was to expand the opportunities to vote for most Georgians, not limit them.”

Specifically, the Post found that while Biden and others claimed the new law “ends voting hours early so working people can’t cast their vote after their shift is over.” As the Post noted, the new law does no such thing.

Hmm. Keep this lady as far as possible from a microphone unless you want to embarrass yourself.

Abrams was up in arms on the new law and encouraging others, including corporations, to be up in arms as well.

Then she saw the results and figured out what it would mean to Georgia.

Oops.

An organization founded by failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has called upon Hollywood to continue standing against Georgia’s voter integrity laws while not hurting the state economically.

In a statement to Newsweek, Fair Fight, the voter organization founded by Stacy Abrams, told Hollywood to “stay and fight” the new law as opposed to cutting and running.

When one of your political leaders in a state chases businesses away, that’s a bad thing.

“[Governor] Brian Kemp [(R-GA)] and Georgia Republican lawmakers are singularly responsible for any job that is lost and any dollar that goes out of Georgia, because they prioritized suppressing voters of color over the economic well-being of all Georgians,” Fair Fight spokesman Seth Bringman told Newsweek.

No. Not the Governor. You. These businesses didn’t consider leaving until you started lying about the law and trying to drum up outrage. You’re lying now. This is all your fault and you know it. You’re stupid and pathetic and it’s clear that Georgians would be much better off if you would just shut up and go away.
