CDC Head: FDA Could ‘Streamline’ Omicron Booster Authorization As ‘Much Of The Vaccine’ Is ‘The Same’ | The Daily Wire

I think a slow down, if not a pause, would be a good idea at this point.

On Sunday, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky appeared on ABC’s “This Week” with host Martha Raddatz. During the segment, Raddatz asked Walensky about how quickly the FDA could approve a variant-specific vaccine from Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson and Johnson.

“One of the things about a booster, about a variant-specific booster — I know Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson say they could all do this fairly quickly, within three months, but then you have FDA approval,” Raddatz said. “Is there any world where you can see that moving much faster given we’ve already been through this?”

Walensky said that while she would “have to defer to the FDA” on certain things, the organization is “already in conversations about streamlining the authorization … of an Omicron-specific vaccine, partially because much of the vaccine is actually exactly the same and really it would just be that mRNA code that would have to change.”

“So, those conversations are ongoing and certainly, FDA will move swiftly, and CDC will move swiftly right thereafter,” Walensky added.

 

I think that’s scary. I think we doing a lot of reacting right now. And reacting very rarely makes for good business decisions long term. And when you’re business is healthcare, that’s especially scary.

I’d rather we slow down a little at this point, instead of speeding up.

But I am not the head of the FDA, unfortunately.

Saturday night, thousands in Barcelona attended a protest against regional Catalonia’s vaccine pass system. In November, the Catalan high court ruled the region’s parliament was allowed to institute a new COVID pass law, which requires proof of vaccination or previous infection to enter restaurants, bars, gyms and other venues.

Now, despite being 80 percent vaccinated, adults in the region are being told if they want to eat out or improve their health at a gym, they must first show government papers proving medical cleanliness to authorities. One man, a professor of Chinese medicine, said there’s so many people who have adverse side effects to the vaccines that it’s morally wrong to force people to get the COVID jab.

Nearby in the Netherlands, protests have once again started up as the government imposes new lockdown measures on the 73 percent vaccinated population. The protests across the region were mostly peaceful, which couldn’t be said for the protests just two weeks before.

When the government first announced a ban on unvaccinated Dutchmen and Dutchwomen entering many public places, riots took over the major cities. The proposed law faced such bitter backlash that parliament decided not to pursue it for the time being, and has instead opted for general curfews on bars and restaurants.

I hope this kind of thing spreads to America. Soon.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has finally admitted that despite all of the hysteria, nobody has died of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

The WHO issued a warning stating that it may take several weeks for experts to figure out how infectious this new variant is, and how effective both jabs and other treatments are against it.

“‘We’re going to get the answers that everybody out there needs,” said WHO emergencies director Michael Ryan, according to Daily Mail.

Yes, it’s early. They might change their minds as they learn more. But right now, it appears that we should all remain calm.

Teacher forced to resign after criticizing mask mandates on social media files lawsuit (reclaimthenet.org)

A teacher from South Carolina has filed a lawsuit against the school district board and the superintendent claiming she was forced to resign over a post about mask mandates she made on her personal Facebook account. The lawsuit alleges wrongful termination.

Holly Chapman, a middle school teacher, was an employee of the Berkeley County School District until February this year. She was fired over a video she posted on Facebook criticizing mask mandates.

Ok, so this is a clear First Amendment violation. She is entitled to express her personal opinion, as long as it’s not in the classroom. In fact, many teachers get away with expressing far worse, in the classroom. Of course, they’re expressing the “right kind of opinion” (actually the left kind), so they never get fired.

She posted the video in December 2020. The suit notes that she was not friends with any of her students on Facebook. Besides, she used a pseudonym on her Facebook profile.

She even did it under a pseudonym?

I think the school district is in trouble. If I were them, I would find a way to settle quickly and quietly out of court.

If You Want to Decrease Reliance on Fossil Fuels, Nuclear Is the Only Answer

Sure, there are some places who will have enough room and resources to manage solar. And it may even become a reasonable way for most Americans to power their homes. As long as there are reliable non-solar power sources still on the grid that solar users can take from on cloudy days.

But there are too many things that just can’t be easily converted that way. You’re never getting a battery powered 747 off the ground, for example. And even if you could, how much solar energy would you need to charge those batteries every day? And our energy needs go up every year. We’re increasingly tech and energy reliant.

So, they suspended him pending review.

“Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense,” CNN said in a statement. “We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately.”

To me, this is the curious bit.

“While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light,” the network added. “Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate.”

What information could they possibly have uncovered this quickly that would be worse than what we already know?

Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed the latest round of talks with Iran and Vienna regarding renegotiating the nuclear deal from 2015, which ended due to Iranian officials not taking it seriously.

During a conference on Friday, Blinken said he believes a mutual compliance is necessary moving forward. Blaming the Trump administration for withdrawing from the deal known as the “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action” back in 2018.

“I think the decision to pull out of the agreement was a disastrous mistake,” Blinken stated.

A disastrous mistake for pulling out of an agreement that gave everything to the other side and that they had no interest in complying with in any case.

Report: Russia is Planning a Military Offensive Against Ukraine – PJ Media

Now, the Washington Post is reporting specifics of the buildup of Russian forces on the border with Ukraine, identifying four areas of troop concentrations and the potential for Moscow to mass up to 175,000 troops for an offensive that could come as soon as early 2022.

The unclassified U.S. intelligence document obtained by The Post, which includes satellite photos, shows Russian forces massing in four locations. Currently, 50 battlefield tactical groups are deployed, along with “newly arrived” tanks and artillery, according to the document.

While Ukrainian assessments have said Russia has approximately 94,000 troops near the border, the U.S. map puts the number at 70,000 — but it predicts a buildup to as many as 175,000 and describes extensive movement of battalion tactical groups to and from the border “to obfuscate intentions and to create uncertainty.”

Russia has also called up tens of thousands of reservists and its rhetoric toward Ukraine has become increasingly belligerent. This is either one of the biggest military deception operations since World War II, or Putin is deadly serious.

I don’t think it’s a deception. I do think it’s a test. And so far our President is failing miserably. Not surprising. He’s failed miserably at his job from day one.

Yes, the inflation death spiral. I’ve spoken of it before. That doesn’t concern me nearly as much as the scary word in her last sentence.

Endemic.

We’ve gone from “transitory”, to “not transitory” and worrying about “endemic” in about 30 seconds.

Treasury Secretaries pick their words more carefully than probably any other Cabinet post. They know that the stock market parses every single thing they say. The stock market is going to react very negatively if she starts using the word “endemic” more frequently.

They’ve been telling us for about 70 years that reliable fusion generation is “a generation or so away”. The truth is that there are about 100 technological breakthroughs that have to occur to make that possible. We’ve accomplished about 60 of them.

One of the other hurdles is getting this to happen at reasonable temperatures. We may never cross that one. But even if we can do it at fission-like temperatures that might be enough to start getting use out of it.

Then, 192 high-powered laser beams are blasted at the hohlraum, where they are converted into X-rays. These X-rays implode the fuel capsule, heating and compressing it to conditions comparable to those in the center of a star – temperatures in excess of 100 million degrees Celsius (180 million Fahrenheit) and pressures greater than 100 billion Earth atmospheres – turning the fuel capsule into a tiny blob of plasma.

How do we contain a large scale reaction occurring at 180 million degrees? We don’t. And if we can’t contain it, we can’t sustain it.

So, this is great news, but there’s still a way to go. Next time someone tells you that fusion is a “generation or so” away, you might actually be able to believe them.

But to do that, we need more people in STEM, and far fewer people worried about whether or not math is racist.

Twitter Is Trying to Kill Us All

Once again, Twitter decides it knows better than actual experts on the subject. The experts findings are rather disturbing.

I’m already on the fence on booster shots. We already know that a significant percentage of people experience some pretty severe symptoms for a day or two after the shots. We also know that there have been some (not many, given how many vaccines have been given out) people with severe long term reactions to the vaccine, up to and including death.

I’m not sure I want a booster every six months with this going on. Sure, my odds of something bad happening are pretty small. But that’s each time. You’re playing Russian Roulette with a revolver that has 100 chambers and one bullet. Eventually your number is going to come up.

But this study may explain some of what we’ve been seeing.

Background:

Dr. Steven R. Gundry of the International Heart and Lung Institute wrote an abstract that raised a concern about mRNA vaccines for COVID-19 potentially raising the inflammatory markers in the blood. Gundry’s group has been conducting a long-term study of the risk for a new Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). Patients in the clinic have received a clinically validated measurement of multiple blood protein biomarkers called the PULS score every 3-6 months for eight years. The study began before the pandemic and has accumulated a significant history for participants.

So, this study has been going on for several years. And what have they found?

An increase in the PULS score means the patient is at increased risk of suffering from a new ACS, an acute illness that impairs blood flow to the heart in the next five years. According to Gundry’s analysis, a PULS test drawn two to ten weeks after the second COVID-19 mRNA dose more than doubled the ACS risk from pre-vaccine levels. The researchers concluded that the mRNA vaccines might dramatically increase inflammation on the cellular lining of the heart and blood vessels and T cell infiltration of cardiac muscle. This type of inflammation may account for the observations of increased thrombosis, cardiomyopathy, and other vascular events following vaccination.

ACS stands for Acute Coronary Syndrome.

I’m already at risk for many types of heart ailments due to being diabetic. I don’t really think I want to increase my risk any more.

So, I think I’m off the booster bandwagon until I learn more. I’ll ask my doctor.

Ireland To Limit Multi-Household Gatherings, Shut Down Nightclubs Over Omicron Concerns | The Daily Wire

There aren’t even that many cases, which makes the first sentence in this piece particularly amusing.

In response to the surging Omicron variant, the Republic of Ireland has announced a wave of new coronavirus restrictions on homes, nightclubs, and restaurants from December 7 — January 9, 2022.

According to the rules recently announced by Taoiseach Micheal Martin, multi-household gatherings should include no more than three households in one home at the same time. Nightclubs will be closed down completely and restaurants and bars will only be allowed to have seating service with parties no bigger than six people during this time as well.

Sky News also reports that “[i]ndoor events such as concerts must operate at 50% capacity.”

I hate this virus. I hate our cowardly reaction to it even more.

Senator Manchin Says He'll Vote to End OSHA Vaccine Mandate – PJ Media

Senator Joe Manchin announced he would join all 50 Republicans in the Senate in voting for a resolution of disapproval that would roll back the OSHA vaccine mandate.

The Congressional Review Act (CRA) allows for a majority of Congress to disapprove of any agency rule. Since the CRA vote is in the form of a resolution, only a simple majority is needed in the Senate to pass it.

The CRA would still have to be approved in the House where several Democrats have said they’re considering voting for it. And even if it’s passed by both chambers, Biden would almost certainly veto it.

But it would be a powerful statement to make prior to a Supreme Court ruling on the case.

Mom Asks Judge to Dismiss Lawsuit Filed Against Her by Teachers Union (dailysignal.com)

The state affiliate of the National Education Association, the largest teachers union in America, sued Solas, a resident of South Kingstown, which is 30 miles south of Providence, Rhode Island.

The union’s suit, filed in August, came after Solas filed more than 200 requests for public records about the curriculum being taught in her school district and what her kindergarten daughter would learn.

Solas specifically sought information about whether the South Kingstown School District was teaching students critical race theory and gender identity ideology.

Solas is fighting the lawsuit with the help of the Goldwater Institute, a conservative public policy and ligation organization based in Phoenix. Goldwater attorney Jon Riches, representing Solas, asked Wednesday that the Rhode Island Superior Court dismiss the lawsuit.

Parents have a right to know exactly what their children are being taught. When my daughters were being schooled from home during 2020, parents were told we couldn’t watch the Zoom sessions. I politely explained that I would watch the Zooms any time I pleased, and if they had a problem with that they could contact my attorney. No one ever did. In fact, I didn’t really watch any of the Zooms, although I did peek in from time-to-time. It wasn’t so much that I wanted to watch. I wanted them to know that I might watch.

Nothing about the big miss on employment. Nothing about inflation. Nothing about the retail sector losing jobs in November, of all times.

But to be fair, with his declining mental faculties, he probably thinks it really was a great jobs report.

But several of the looters pled poverty and got out, thanks to a California Supreme Court decision that ordered judges in the state to consider a suspect’s ability to pay when setting bail. If you can show you are “indigent” — no visible income or means of support — you get to walk.

Hooray.

But these are just looters, no problem, right?

One of the suspects is charged with murder, while the other is charged with being an accessory to murder. The shooting stemmed from a road rage incident after the victim collided with several other vehicles. The man charged with murder, Efrain Anzures, claims he fired in self-defense.

Nice. Let’s set them all free. More people can get robbed and killed.

Now, 26-year-old Hayley Hodgson recently detailed her experience being taken by authorities into the Howard detainment camp, a 2,000 person facility. Hodgson did not even have COVID-19.

Hodgson told UnHeard News that police came to her door and asked if she had a covid test. Hodgson admits she lied and said she had. Here is what happened next, according to Hodgson’s interview with UnHeard News.

“So then the police officers blocked my driveway,” she says.

“I walked out and I said, ‘What’s going on, are you guys testing me for COVID? What’s happening?” They said, ‘No, you’re getting taken away. And you have no choice. You’re going to Howard Springs. You either come with us now, and we’ll put you in the back of the divvy van. Or you can have a choice to get a ‘COVID cab’… I just said, ‘I don’t consent to this. I don’t understand why I can’t just self-isolate at home, like a lot of other people are doing.’ And they just said, ‘We’ve just been told from higher up where to take you. And that’s all that there is.'”

This is just frightening. They’re just rounding up people and herding them off to the concentration camps.

CNN Runs Propaganda Piece on Inflation

CNN Story Says ‘Inflation Can Actually Be Good For Everyday Americans.’ Here’s What CNN Published Two Weeks Ago. | The Daily Wire

CNN is running some serious spin here for the Democrats. Try to imagine them saying the same thing if the Republicans were in charge.

CNN posted an article on its website Wednesday titled “Why inflation can actually be good for everyday Americans and bad for rich people” by CNN senior editor and business writer Allison Morrow. “[O]n the whole,” she writes, “many working-class Americans” will benefit from rising prices caused by the devaluing of the U.S. dollar, “especially those with fixed-rate debt like a 30-year mortgage.”

There’s a lot of nonsense in the piece about wages catching up to inflation, and being able to benefit if you have a fixed rate mortgage, etc. The problem is that there’s a long lag between wages catching up, and sure being able to benefit on the mortgage is nice, but doesn’t help me buy groceries.

Also, it’s stupid to say that this helps the lower or middle classes more, because it’s the affluent who are most likely to benefit from mortgage wins.

Here’s what’s been said about inflation n the past, including by CNN:

Traditionally, economists have called inflation “the cruelest tax,” because it hurts the poor, minorities, and people on a fixed income the worst. CNN has reported this fundamental economic principle numerous times, as recently as two weeks ago.

• On November 17, CNN published an article titled “The Americans who are getting the worst of the surge in inflation.” which stated that inflation-drive price hikes “disproportionately harm low-income, [b]lack and brown families. If left unaddressed, escalating food costs will not only make it difficult for these families to put holiday meals on the table; such costs will significantly exacerbate longstanding inequities in hunger and nutrition”;

• In a May article on CNN.com titled “Everything is getting more expensive. That’s especially bad news for low-income Americans,” Anneken Tappe and Nathaniel Meyersohn wrote, “The inflation spike … has been harder for those at the bottom of the income ladder.”

This was all before they realized how much inflation is hurting the Democrats. CNN can’t have that. Have to run protection for the party of choice.

All who feel comfortable are welcome to use this restroom.” “Women’s +: This restroom has stalls. All who feel comfortable are welcome to use this restroom.”

And what if I’m not comfortable with either?

The announcement went over like a lead balloon.

Some comments responding on social media included:

My girls will not feel comfortable sharing a bathroom with boys. Who is making these ridiculous decisions? Who is making sure girls are not harassed or bullied in these stalls? Where can my child get privacy to ensure no boy will try to peek at her while she is in a stall?

This is backwards, not acceptable. What about the girls that have their periods that are already uncomfortable in their [restrooms] now their being subjected to having boys in there too? NO!!!!!

Wow, I guess nobody learned anything from the sexual assaults that took in place in Virginia because of similar policies. My child will never attend a school with such policies that endanger students.

The last comment should hit home the hardest. After what happened in Loudoun County, why would anyone do this? Just how stupid are you?

November Jobs Report Falls Significantly Short Of Expectations In ‘A Huge Miss’ For U.S. Economy | The Daily Wire

The November jobs report that came out on Friday showed poor numbers for the U.S. economy, with growth in new jobs not even reaching 50% of what financial experts had predicted.

Making the news worse, the disastrous jobs numbers arrived before the U.S. government and the mainstream media triggered a panic over the new Omicron variant of the novel coronavirus.

“Nonfarm payrolls increased by just 210,000 for the month,” CNBC reported, noting that the “Dow Jones estimate was for 573,000 new jobs.”

Spectacular.

The unemployment rate also fell slightly to 4.2%. The retail sector lost 20,000 jobs last month while transportation and warehousing added 50,000 jobs and professional and business services added 90,000.

The latest job numbers are another issue that the Biden administration has to contend with as polling has shown that the overwhelming majority of Americans are worried about skyrocketing inflation. Some experts have recently warned that Biden’s Build Back Better agenda could further exacerbate inflation problems.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said this week that he expects high inflation to continue well into 2022 and that the U.S. government should stop trying to portray the situation as “transitory.”

And the hits just keep on comin’.

I just can’t wait for more and more inflation and higher unemployment. Oh, and more travel restrictions. All of that will make my job in a travel insurance company sooooo much easier.

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, a bill sponsored by Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) that has long been circulating in Congress and is backed by the human rights community and opponents of China's forced labor camps, was included in a package of 25 amendments to the annual defense authorization bill, according to a list distributed by Senate leadership on Wednesday.

But Democrats excluded the amendment from a vote late Wednesday night, after members of the party privately objected to it, sources told the Free Beacon. Earlier in the evening, Democrats tried to use a procedural mechanism that would have allowed a vote on the act but stripped it from the final authorization bill, according to a hotline memo from Senate leadership.

The pushback from Senate Democrats comes amid efforts by senior Biden administration officials to quietly kill the bill over concerns it will hinder the White House's climate agenda and limit solar panel imports from China.

The anti-slavery act has "been on the list of amendments Senate Democrats proposed the Senate to vote on that the Republicans have been objecting to … so you should ask the Senate Republicans why they're blocking the vote," Schumer spokesman Justin Goodman told the Free Beacon.

But in a floor speech later Wednesday night, Schumer claimed that the anti-slavery amendment was a "poison pill" that couldn't be included in the authorization bill because of arcane procedural requirements.

"If [Rubio's] amendment were on the bill, it would automatically kill the bill, because it would be what's called ‘blue-slipped' in the House, which means any bill that produces revenue must start in the House," Schumer said. "The Rubio amendment is a poison pill in the sense that it blows up the bill."

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act passed the Senate unanimously in July but has stalled in the House. Rubio reintroduced the bill as an amendment to the upcoming National Defense Authorization Act, in an attempt to force the House to finally vote on it.

Democrats blocking a Senate vote on the anti-slavery act "avoids the House having to touch this issue," a senior aide to Rubio told the Free Beacon.

"[House Democratic leadership has] sat on this bill since July anyway, so clearly they don't want to touch it. And this would avoid them having to strip it out … or voting to approve it, which they clearly don't want to do," said the aide.

“We support it in the Senate, but it’s the Republicans fault.”

“We support it in the Senate, but it would be ‘blue slipped’ in the House.”

“We’ve already passed a bill with this in it, and it’s waiting in the House.”

Sounds like Senator Marco Rubio (R=FL) just wants someone to tell House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-11) to get off her bony a** and bring this to a vote, so he’s trying to put it in a bill that she’ll be required to bring to the floor.

Tenders are different from chicken nuggets, which are made from scrap meat from the whole chicken. Because the tenders take more work to produce, they can be harder to find or more costly, experts told “Today.” The average price of a value pack of whole chicken breast tenderloins has risen nearly a dollar per pound since last year, from $3.02 per pound in 2020 to $3.99 this year.

The shortage has actually prompted several chicken restaurant chains, such as KFC and A&W, to stop featuring chicken tenders in their advertising campaigns in order to avoid selling out of them in their restaurants.

In September, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed HB20 into law. “There is a dangerous movement by some social media companies to silence conservative ideas and values,” said Abbott at the time. “This is wrong and we will not allow it in Texas.”

Judge Robert Pitman for the Western District of Texas granted the preliminary injunction and said that Big Tech companies have a First Amendment right to moderate content on their platforms.

No, that’s not how the First Amendment works. You have it completely backwards. I have a First Amendment right to have my voice heard.

Actually, this is an interesting case. I hope it makes its way to SCOTUS. As far as I know, the Court has  not weighed in on freedom of speech and Social Media. I’d love to hear what they have to say.

The Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced on Thursday that it was suspending the enforcement of Democrat President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate after a federal court blocked it from being implemented pending review.

In a memo, CMS stated:

Survey and Enforcement of the Vaccine Requirement for Health Care Staff in Medicare- and Medicaid-certified Providers and Suppliers Suspended While Court Ordered Injunctions are in Effect: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will not enforce the new rule regarding vaccination of health care workers or requirements for policies and procedures in certified Medicare/Medicaid providers and suppliers (including nursing facilities, hospitals, dialysis facilities and all other provider types covered by the rule) while there are court-ordered injunctions in place prohibiting enforcement of this provision.

It’s just healthcare workers so far, but it’s a good start.

The number of police shot and killed in the line of duty has reached a new high, according to statistics from the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).

“[A]s of midnight on 30 November, there have been 314 officers shot in the line of duty this year. Of those officers shot, 58 of them were killed by gunfire,” the FOP stated in a presentation on monthly statistics of shootings of police.

“There have been 95 ambush-style attacks on law enforcement officers this year,” the report continued, adding that that number is more than double the number of ambush-style attacks in 2020. Those attacks resulted in 119 officers shot, with 28 fatalities, the FOP noted.

The number of both officers shot and officers killed have already surpassed the numbers from 2020 and 2019, with a month still left in 2021. In the full year of 2020, 312 officers were shot in the line of duty, with 47 killed. In 2019, 293 officers were shot, with 50 dead.

The left caused this. They cannot be allowed to run this country any longer. They are destroying it, and you’d have a hard time convincing me at this point that it’s even accidental.

The Ottawa branch of CBC News, Canada’s public news outlet, recently posted an article titled “Words and phrases you may want to think twice about using.” It consulted a number of “anti-racism” experts and linguists to analyze a number of common words and phrases that some apparently consider offensive

The article goes on and on. There are dozens of words listed that they don’t want us to use anymore. I’m just going to keep talking like I always have, and if you’re offended by it, tell me. If you can convince me that your offense is deserved, I may modify my language.

Three teenagers were arrested in Australia after climbing a fence to escape a COVID-19 quarantine compound in the middle of the night.

The teens – aged 15, 16, and 17 – had all tested negative for COVID-19 but were being quarantined because they were close contacts of people who had tested positive. They were being held in a COVID-19 quarantine facility in Howard Springs, just outside Northern Territory capital city Darwin, Australia news outlet ABC reported.

At a press conference on Thursday, local time, NT Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker said the teens were found just outside Palmerston and had been arrested after police chased them on foot. At the time, NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner said the teens had not had any contact with members of the community.

Why didn’t someone stop and think, “OMG, why are we doing this? This is insane! These people have done nothing wrong, and we’re hunting them down like rabid dogs!”

I Was Thinking About This Just Today

For years, one of the arguments from the left has been that men shouldn’t participate in the debate about abortion, because men can’t get pregnant. And Whoopi falls into this same trap.

Back in October, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an “urgent health advisory” in which they urged “pregnant people” to get vaccinated against COVID-19, because, apparently, women aren’t the only ones who can get pregnant… according to radical left-wing gender theory.

This is similar to the same pickle that J.K. Rowling finds herself in. She’s trying to defend women’s rights. But by doing so, she’s portrayed as anti-trans. She’s not anti-trans. She’s just a feminist, pure and simple.

But you can’t be a feminist anymore if that means that your views of the need to uplift women conflict with the views of others of the need to uplift trans people.

So when Whoopi goes on a rant about men not being able to have babies, she’s doing the same thing.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki referenced the claim of Trump having COVID before the debate during the White House press briefing on Wednesday, saying that Trump “apparently, reportedly, didn’t even share with people he was going to interact with that he had tested positive for COVID himself.”

Trump denied the accusations in a statement released Wednesday morning.

“The story of me having COVID prior to, or during, the first debate is Fake News,” Trump said. “In fact, a test revealed that I did not have COVID prior to the debate.”

On Wednesday evening Meadows spoke of the reports and agreed with Trump.

“I believe the president said it’s fake news. What’s the story here?” Newsmax anchor Rob Schmitt asked Meadows Wednesday night.

“Well, the president’s right, it’s fake news,” Mark Meadows replied.

People repeat these things because they confirm their opinions about Trump, so it doesn’t matter whether they’re true or not.

I had a discussion with a friend about this. He can’t stand Trump, he says. And he listed all the reasons why. All of which were provably false. They were fake news stories from the MSM. But none of that mattered to my friend. In the end, he stuck with his opinions.

According to a new Gallup poll published on Thursday, 45% of households in the United States say that inflation is causing them financial hardship. Ten percent have reported experiencing “severe hardship” as a result of the rise in prices.

Those in the lowest income brackets are hit the hardest.

No, that last can’t be true. Team Biden told me that it’s an upper class problem only.

Among those living in households making less than $40,000 a year, 71 percent said the recent price hikes have caused their family financial hardship, compared with just 47 percent of those in middle-income households and 29 percent in upper-income households.

Gallup defined an upper-income household as those bringing in more than $100,000 per year.

Among lower-income households, 28 percent described the hardship they’re experiencing as “severe and affecting their ability to maintain their current standard of living,” Gallup said.

Inflation appears to be a non-partisan plague with little difference in opinion about it across party lines. A YouGov poll found that 8% of Democrats said they’re experiencing “severe hardship” as a result of inflation, compared with 11% among both Republicans and independents.

This doesn’t agree at all with what Team Biden is saying.

Two more staffers are reportedly joining a growing exodus out of Vice President Kamala Harris’ office less than a year into her tenure.

Peter Velz, Harris’ director of press operations, and Vince Evans, the vice president’s deputy director of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, are expected to vacate their positions in the vice president’s office soon for other positions in the Biden administration, according to The Washington Post.

Velz and Evans’ reported expected departures come just after Harris’ chief spokeswoman, Symone Sanders, announced in a note to the Vice President’s team that she was leaving her post by the end of the year. Sanders did not offer to stick around until her replacement is found and trained.

While the video call seemed to be enough at the time for the IOC, many other organizations have called for more evidence, including the European Union.

“The EU joins growing international demands, including by sport professionals, for assurances that she is free and not under threat,” the EU said in a November statement. “In this spirit, the EU requests the Chinese government to provide verifiable proof of Peng Shuai’s safety, well-being and whereabouts. The EU urges the Chinese authorities to conduct a full, fair and transparent investigation into her allegations of sexual assault.”

Remember, there’s a reason for her disappearance.

Peng’s safety has been a concern since her November 2 social media post in which she accused former Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli of sexually assaulting her three years ago following a round of tennis. She also said Zhang’s wife guarded the door. Her post was deleted nearly 30 minutes after publication and Peng’s account on Weibo — a Chinese social media platform — was blocked from searchers on the platform.

Until she’s back out on tour, I don’t think anyone will believe China on this.

Facebook has reversed a policy implemented in August 2020, which banned searches of Kyle Rittenhouse. The company did not say why it reversed the policy.

That’s funny. They wouldn’t say why. Because saying why would have led to even more uncomfortable questions, like “why did you censor in the first place, before he’d even been tried?”

Facebook’s Director of Dangerous Organizations and Individuals team Brian Fishman said that the company had deemed the incident a mass murder so it removed the accounts of Rittenhouse on Facebook and Instagram.

The company also “blocked searches of his name” and “per standard practice in these situations,” removed “praise and support of the shooter.”

They decided this knowledge might be harmful to you, without you having to figure that out for yourself. Then that turned out to be the wrong decision, so they just quietly reversed it when forced.

President Joe Biden announced a five-step strategy Thursday to fight COVID-19 in the coming winter months -- including rigid testing for travelers entering the United States and insurers covering the cost of home tests.

Biden made the announcement at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md.

The winter plan also includes encouraging booster shots for all adults, establishing family vaccine clinics where children and adults can get vaccinated together and an increase in surge response teams.

Sign me up for lots of new restrictions. I haven’t had enough the last two years.

However, I do want to say this. At the time of the Kinosha riots, many many people along the left-of-center, including otherwise reformist liberals, endorsed riots to some degree or another. I know quite a few people who were willing to say that riots were just good on the merits, and there were also many saying in some terms or another that these particular riots could not be judged by progressive people due to what had inspired them. This sentiment stretches back a long way but has picked up steam in the last decade and the past year and a half particularly. Here’s a pro-riot piece and here’s a pro-riot piece and here’s a pro-riot piece and here’s a pro-rioting interview and here’s a pro-looting interview and here’s a riots-aren’t-necessarily-good-but-they-do-good-things piece and here’s a both-sidesy rioting piece and on and on. (And this is merely hilarious.) Pro-rioting sentiment is perfect for our edgelord media; it makes for good, click-farming headlines and engages in the kind of moral simplicity and righteous hectoring that defines our current culture.

Well, look: chaos is chaotic. Bad shit happens when people riot. When you create environments where anything can happen… anything can happen. Some people are going to take advantage of that opportunity to do things that you don’t like. You can’t endorse spasms of directionless violence and then complain when some of it plays out in a way that you hadn’t intended. This seems totally obvious to me, and yet so many out there want to both condone riots and condemn their chaotic outcomes. It’s like putting on music and getting mad when people dance.

So close to getting red-pilled. I doubt he makes it over the line soon, though. Still resisting.

Democrat President Joe Biden is urging businesses to implement vaccine mandates even though a federal court recently blocked it citing possible “grave statutory and constitutional” issues.

A senior administration official said, “We’re asking businesses to step forward and do what’s right to protect our workers and to protect our communities, which is to put in place some sort of vaccination requirement or testing requirements for the workplace.”

This is called a mandate without a mandate. There’s nothing technically wrong with asking people to do it even though the courts have said no. They just can’t force you to.

Inflation is causing business costs to skyrocket, not just in terms of goods and services needed, but also many businesses are being forced to pay their employees more. This means that they must also raise their prices or be forced to suffer losses. Increasing their tax burdens will only make things worse.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that members of the Army National Guard who refuse to comply with the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate would be prohibited from undergoing the required training and drills they need to maintain their status as Guardsmen.

In an internal memo to leaders of the armed forces, according to the Associated Press, Austin spelled out the new policy, directing leaders of the four service branches to publish guidance dealing with men and women serving in the National Guard who refuse the vaccine. “Vaccination is essential to the health and readiness of the force,” Austin said.

The only positive thing I can say here is that this isn’t a blatant over-reach like the rest of the vax mandates. As Secretary of Defense, he has the authority to make these rules for the Armed Forces, and that includes the Guard.

CBS Local visited five In-N-Out locations all over Los Angeles last night, and not one of them was enforcing the new requirement despite the fact that violators could be fined up to $5,000. CBS reporter Tom Wait was not asked to show proof of vaccination at any of the restaurants, not even after he ordered and sat at a table inside.

Interesting that CBS Local felt the need to “investigate” this and tattle on the business.

Statement from In-N-Out Chief Legal and Business Officer Arnie Wensinger:

“We refuse to become the vaccination police for any government. It is unreasonable, invasive, and unsafe to force our restaurant associates to segregate customers into those who may be served and those who may not, whether based on the documentation they carry, or any other reason.”

“We fiercely disagree with any government dictate that forces a private company to discriminate against customers who choose to patronize their business,” Wensinger concluded. “This is a clear governmental overreach and is intrusive, improper and offensive.”

Well, that’s pretty clear. I hope California doesn’t shut them down.

He didn’t say it. Here’s the quote:

And Trump said, “And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me.”

Later in the same briefing, a reporter asked the acting undersecretary of science and technology for the Department of Homeland Security, Bill Bryan, “The president mentioned the idea of cleaners, like bleach and isopropyl alcohol you mentioned. There’s no scenario that could be injected into a person, is there?”

It was Trump who replied, “It wouldn’t be through injection. We’re talking about through almost a cleaning, sterilization of an area. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work. But it certainly has a big effect if it’s on a stationary object.”

But lying about Trump and things Trump didn’t say has become such a habit for the left that they can’t stop.
