Jen Psaki Channels Her Inner Bertolt Brecht

From Psaki:

Jen Psaki Blames Part Of The American Public For Biden’s Plummeting Poll Numbers | The Daily Wire

“Well, look, I would say that this is a really tough time in our country. We’re still battling COVID, and a lot of people thought we’d be through it, including us,” Psaki responded. “And we — because of the rise of the Delta variant, because of the fact that even though it was a vaccine that was approved under a Republican administration, even though we now have full FDA approval, and even though it’s widely available across the country, we still have a quarter of the country who have — less than that — 20 percent of the country who’ve decided not to get vaccinated. No question that’s having an impact.”

From Brecht:

After the uprising of the 17th June
The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee
Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government
And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier
In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?

Olympic Diver Tom Daley: Nations That ‘Punish Being Gay With Death’ Should Be Barred From Olympics | The Daily Wire

But it would mean that many of the Left’s favorite countries wouldn’t be able to attend.

I’ll just let you think on that for a moment.

On Wednesday, while accepting Attitude’s Sport Award, British Olympic diver Tom Daley used a significant portion of his speech to decry the fact that certain countries that punish homosexuals with death are allowed to participate in the Olympics.

Daley, who won a gold medal in the 10m synchro in Tokyo, as well as a bronze in the 10m platform, said in part:

… there are still ten countries that punish being gay with death, that were still allowed to compete at the Olympic Games — and I think that is quite shocking to a lot of people.

He makes a great point. He’s going to try to make it happen for 2024. I wish him luck.

Merriam-Webster Thought Police Just Changed The Definition Of 'Anti-Vaxxer' To Attack Opponents Of Government Mandates (thefederalist.com)

Merriam-Webster expanded the definition of the word “anti-vaxxer” to encompass people who do not believe government bureaucrats have the authority to force shot mandates on individuals.

According to Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary, the definition for the popular abbreviation of “anti-vaccine” not only describes “a person who opposes the use of vaccines” but also anyone who opposes “regulations mandating vaccination.”

This Makes Perfect Sense Considering the Horrendous Border Crisis

DHS cancels border wall contracts with CBP Laredo, Rio Grande Valley sectors | One America News Network (oann.com)

It’s a perfect time to stop building The Wall!

Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security has continued to reverse the Trump administration’s efforts to secure the southern border through the construction of a border wall. On Friday, the DHS released a statement to announce it was canceling all remaining barrier contracts with the CBP’s Laredo and Rio Grande sectors.

Instead, the agency said it would conduct environmental research on areas where border wall construction did not start.

“Environmental planning activities will cover projects funded with DHS’s Fiscal Year 2018 to 2021 barrier system appropriations where construction had not started,” the statement read.  “These activities include additional biological, cultural, and natural resource surveys for project areas where no data have been previously collected. ”

Of course all of these studies have already been done. There’s no waste like government waste.

McConnell Channels His Inner Picard

Biden Warned In Letter Ripping Schumer’s Speech: ‘Even Democratic Senators Were Visibly Embarrassed’ | The Daily Wire

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) wrote a scathing letter to President Joe Biden on Friday informing the president that Republicans would not bail out Democrats again if they failed to raise the debt limit by themselves.

McConnell’s letter also called out Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer’s (D-NY) speech on the Senate floor on Thursday evening, which was widely criticized after Schumer attacked Republicans despite Republicans having thrown him a lifeline to get out of a situation that would have been bad for the Democratic Party.

McConnell began:

Last night, Republicans filled the leadership vacuum that has troubled the Senate since January. I write to inform you that I will not provide such assistance again if your all-Democrat government drifts into another avoidable crisis.

The Senate Democratic Leader had three months’ notice to handle one of his most basic governing duties. Amazingly, even this proved to be asking too much. Senator Schumer spent 11 weeks claiming he lacked the time and the leadership skills to manage a straightforward process that would take less than two weeks. Whether through weakness or an intentional effort to bully his own members, Senator Schumer marched the nation to the doorstep of disaster. Embarrassingly, it got to the point where Senators on both sides were pleading for leadership to fill the void and protect our citizens. I stepped up.

Or, in other words:

Read the whole thing. McConnell’s letter is quite brutal and makes it clear that the Democrats can’t count on the Republicans to bail them out again.

I am writing to make it clear that in light of Senator Schumer’s hysterics and my grave concerns about the ways that another vast, reckless, partisan spending bill would hurt Americans and help China, I will not be a party to any further effort to mitigate the consequences of Democratic mismanagement. Your lieutenants on Capitol Hill now have the time they claimed they lacked to address the debt ceiling through standalone reconciliation, and all the tools to do it. They cannot invent another crisis and ask for my help.

Meanwhile, January 6 Protestors Languish in Jail

Justice is blind, my a**.

For all the talk these days of people being arrested for “walking while Black”, you have a far better chance in our justice system of being set free as a Black man committing a minor violent crime, than as a White man committing a thought crime.

No, I’m not saying Blacks have it better. Racial profiling sucks. And it does occur. And the “walking while Black” meme is not a false one. I just wish we could have more equality of treatment all around. Your skin color shouldn’t matter. Making Democrats scared of you shouldn’t matter. The justice system should work based on what you’ve actually done wrong, if anything.

Buttigieg Has No Qualifications for the Job. He Is an Affirmative Action Hire.

The Supply Chain is Collapsing. Big Sh*tstorm Coming. Where is Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg? (lifezette.com)

This does seem like an issue for the Secretary of Transportation.

As ports get backed up in California, New York, New Jersey and Georgia, leaving shelves empty and products on backorder for months, where in the world is our great and competent Secretary of Transportation, Mr. Pete Buttigieg?

That would be the great Pete Buttigieg who was nominated for the position because he was gay, not because he had transportation experience or was competent in any shape, matter or form.

Even leftist Slate Magazine said he was a disastrous nominee (my words not theirs). In THEIR words they said, “Is Pete Buttigieg the most deserving person for this job? Emphatically not. Does he know the most about transit? I’m not even sure he knows the most about transit among former Slate bloggers.”

Ouch.

We’re stuck with missing products, higher prices and a complete FUBAR of the government’s making. As the Atlantic admits, “America is running out of everything.”

Can you imagine this happening if Donald Trump (R-USA) was President? Put aside your hatred of him for the moment. Do you really think he’d allow commerce to come to a screeching halt in the United States? Trump? If that thought entered your mind for more than a millisecond, you’re completely nuts.

Thank God we got rid of him, though.

The Democrats Are Trying to Gaslight You

Democrats Have Tried to Distance Themselves From ‘Defund the Police,’ but the RNC Has the Receipts – PJ Media

Defunding the police is a wildly unpopular position that more than half of Democrats support, and Republicans have used its unpopularity against them.

“We are going to ensure every voter knows Democrats want to Defund the Police,” NRCC spokesman Michael McAdams said in a statement earlier this year. “Whether it’s Rashida Tlaib demanding an end to policing and incarceration, or Maxine Waters encouraging rioters to engage in violence, Democrats can’t be trusted to stand with law enforcement and keep Americans safe.”

This strategy has worked out well, so much so that White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki tried (and failed) to flip the script by claiming “Republicans voted to defund the police.”

Ha! How stupid do you have to be to believe that?

Don’t worry. The RNC has you covered, in case you don’t remember:

Vaccination Mandates Are Part of the Reason Why

September Jobs Report: 194,000 | National Review

The U.S. economy added 194,000 jobs in September, after economists predicted employers would hire roughly 500,000 new workers, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced on Friday.

This month is the second in a row in which job growth fell short of expectations, with the U.S. adding 366,000 jobs in August despite economists’ predictions of 728,000 new jobs.

These aren’t just “falling short of expectations”.  This is a miss by nearly 700,000 in two months. That’s staggering. And it’s not that employers aren’t hiring. They just can’t find people to hire that are willing to work in the job conditions that are available right now.

There are currently 5 million fewer people on payrolls than there were in February 2020, just before the coronavirus pandemic forced shutdowns of businesses across the country, according to the Bureau. The shortage of workers coincides with high numbers of job openings, with almost 11 million job openings towards the end of July this year.

Our government needs to stop making it so hard for businesses to hire people.

Unless this is on purpose of course. Maybe they like us out of work and dependent upon them.

September Jobs Numbers ‘Worst Of The Year’ As U.S. Struggles: ‘It’s A Pretty Worrying Situation’ | The Daily Wire

CNN’s Chief Business Correspondent Christine Romans said that the jobs report was “way less, way less than anybody expected” and that it was “the worst of the year.”

“This is quite a deflating report,” said Nick Bunker, economic research director at job placement site Indeed. “This year has been one of false dawns for the labor market. Demand for workers is strong and millions of people want to return to work, but employment growth has yet to find its footing.”

This isn’t good either:

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), women in Joe Biden’s America lost 26,000 jobs in September. Aside from the months of March and April 2020, when the first catastrophic effects of the coronavirus slammed the American economy and the country lost huge numbers of jobs, that was the first time women had lost jobs in America since May 2011, the middle of Barack Obama’s presidency, according to BLS.

But don’t worry. I’m sure Clueless Joe has a plan.

This Is Especially Frightening When Today’s ”Misinformation” Are Often Tomorrow’s Facts

TN doctors who spread vaccine misinformation could lose licenses | wbir.com

How many times has Fauci changed his mind on masks? Treatments? Vaccines? More than I can count.

But no one is allowed to have a dissenting opinion, or to do any research to see if the prevailing narrative is correct.

To borrow from Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), this is “f**king stupid”

The Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners adopted a new policy that could result in disciplinary actions for physicians who spread misinformation and disinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, according to reports.

The 12-member board signed off on the policy on Sept. 21. It would keep physicians accountable for violating practice standards by suspending or revoking their licenses.

The official said they decided to sign the policy because "spreading inaccurate COVID-19 vaccine information contradicts" doctors' responsibilities. They also said it threatens to erode public trust in the medical profession, putting all patients at risk.

Chris Wallace: Biden’s Zero-Dollar Claim ‘Might Be The Dumbest Spin Line I’ve Ever Heard’ (lifezette.com)

I can’t believe that Fox News’s Chris Wallace, a man who promoted Joe Biden for president joined “The Brian Kilmeade Show” on Thursday, to weigh in on this idiotic Democratic talking point that the president’s Build Back Better agenda “costs zero dollars.”

His response on Brian’s show was not only funny, but many Americans will definitely agree with him.

You voted for this, Chris. You’re a disgrace to the “Chris” name. Winking smile

Yes, it is incredibly stupid. Just because you raise taxes to pay for something doesn’t mean it has no cost. It costs everyone who has to pay for it. Duh!

The problem is that Democrats always play the long game. They’ll actually convince a few nutjobs that this makes sense. And then they’ll go to this well over and over, now that they’ve tried it once. And each time they’ll convince a few more people. In a decade, a majority will actually believe this drivel.

And people like me will continue to shake our heads in disgust.

A global energy crisis is coming. There's no quick fix – CNN

Oddly, just a year ago, we were experiencing a nearly worldwide energy surplus. What changed?

A global energy crunch caused by weather and a resurgence in demand is getting worse, stirring alarm ahead of the winter, when more energy is needed to light and heat homes. Governments around the world are trying to limit the impact on consumers, but acknowledge they may not be able to prevent bills spiking.

Further complicating the picture is mounting pressure on governments to accelerate the transition to cleaner energy as world leaders prepare for a critical climate summit in November.

In China, rolling blackouts for residents have already begun, while in India power stations are scrambling for coal. Consumer advocates in Europe are calling for a ban on disconnections if customers can't promptly settle what they owe.

So, governments take away our energy, then tell us it’s for our own good. We lose freedom and become more easy to control. And their media lackeys tell us to “get used to it”. That’s what they told people in the Soviet Union too.

I guess we haven’t learned.

YouTube Finds Your Lack of Faith ... Disturbing

YouTube partners with United Nations on new policy to strip climate change skeptics of income (reclaimthenet.org)

YouTube owner Google announced a new policy this week, where YouTube creators, publishers, and advertisers will be demonetized for content contradicting “well-established scientific consensus around the existence and causes of climate change.”

“This includes content referring to climate change as a scam or hoax, claims denying that long-term trends show the global climate is warming and claims denying that greenhouse gas emissions or human activity contribute to climate change.”

I really thought that we’d advanced since the middle ages. But apparently not. We clearly need a second Renaissance. Just think of YouTube as the Pope and climate change skeptics as Galileo.

This is not how scientific debate works.  This is not how freedom of speech works. This is how tyranny works.

I Think People Looking for Healthcare Would Disagree

Biden Boasts ‘Bigger Story’ Isn’t ‘Mass Firings’ But Vaccine Mandates Working | The Daily Wire

Yes, they fired the 40% that weren’t vaccinated.

Ok, I exaggerate. A bit. But that is a big part of the change. The numbers don’t show a big increase in the number of people vaccinated.

Screenshot 2021-10-23 085553

Source: CDC

There’s a slight bump starting near the end of August, but it’s really not all that significant, and appears that it may be short-lived. But you can increase your percent of employees who are vaccinated by firing those that aren’t. That’s not a healthy long-term solution, either for the company or the country, though.

Clueless Joe can’t see that, though.

And it seems to be at its worst in healthcare. For example:

Meanwhile, on October 4 The Hill reported:

Northwell Health, the largest health care provider in New York state, on Monday fired 1,400 of its employees who did not comply with the state’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. … These employees represented almost 2 percent of Northwell’s workforce of more than 76,000 who are all immunized against COVID-19.

Not encouraging.

Pretty Soon All the Wealth and Power Will Be In the Red States

Tesla is moving its headquarters to Austin, Texas - The Verge

Musk had previously threatened to pull Tesla’s entire operations out of California in 2020, because of how vehemently he disagreed with the shelter-in-place orders the state used to help keep people safe early in the coronavirus pandemic. Tesla even sued the county that the company’s California factory is in as a form of protest.

Musk himself moved to Texas last year, as SpaceX dramatically increased its presence in the southern tip of the state. The Tesla CEO said at one point that he thought California had become too “complacent” with respect to its residents and businesses.

Blue states are increasingly unfriendly to businesses. And businesses are starting to say “enough!” This won’t be the last move like this that you’ll hear about.

Don’t believe me? Maybe this will help.

Schumer Delivers an Interesting Floor Speech After McConnell Gives Him a Temporary Rescue From His Own Stupidity

Notice Senator Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) reaction at about 1:10. I don’t think he approved.

In fact, that’s putting it mildly.

Manchin to Schumer: Your speech was "f*****g stupid" – HotAir

There was some last-minute drama, as well. Schumer went to the floor and harshly criticized Republicans for provoking the crisis. Schumer won this round of his never-ending battle with McConnell, and he made sure everyone knew it. But Republicans — and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) — didn’t like the tone of Schumer’s remarks. Senate Minority Whip John Thune complained personally to Schumer on the floor, while Sens. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) and Mitt Romney (R-Utah) complained to reporters.

Manchin told Schumer the speech was “fucking stupid,” according to four sources. Then Manchin complained to reporters too. The incident doesn’t really signify anything, except to show how tense everyone is in the Senate these days. And it’s only going to get worse.

Well, that seems a slight blow to party unity.

Manchin is correct, though. Schumer needs to re-read How to Win Friends and Influence People. He’s been given a temporary respite, and there’s no guarantee that there will be another one. So, maybe, just maybe, the wise course is not to completely tick off those that you’ll need to rescue you next time.

A point Ed agrees with:

Furthermore, Schumer’s speech backfired in the sense that it further alienated not just some Republicans who are willing to collaborate in some policy discussions, but also Manchin — who still is the key to Schumer’s control of the Senate. Maybe this one tiff doesn’t “signify anything,” as Punchbowl asserts, but it does at least point out how unhappy Manchin is with his caucus at the moment, and how entrenched that division has become.

It will be interesting to see where this leads. Stay tuned.

Ireland Joins Biden’s ‘Global Minimum Tax’ Plan | The Daily Wire

Ireland — formerly one of the few holdouts for a pending international “global minimum tax” plan — has joined the agreement.

During a June meeting of the G7, President Biden and other world leaders proposed a “strong global minimum tax” of “at least” 15%. The White House lauded the policy as a “critical step towards ending the decades-long race to the bottom that pushes nations to compete over who can offer the lowest tax rate to large corporations at the expense of protecting workers, investing in infrastructure, and growing the middle class.”

So, basically, these countries all agreed that they’d all have a corporate tax of at least 15%. Some countries had lower than that to attract businesses to them. The bigger countries didn’t want to lose those businesses, and didn’t want to lower their taxes, so they forced the smaller countries to join in their cartel.

This is so mind-numbingly wrong.

And having it written out like that makes it readily apparent just how stupid an idea this is.

Smaller countries were doing well by having lower taxes. In fact, it’s laid out for you later in the article:

Smaller nations — which have historically relied upon lower corporate taxes to compete on the world stage with more developed economies — were initially hesitant to sign the deal. In July, a handful of countries — Barbados, Estonia, Hungary, Ireland, Kenya, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, St. Vincent, Peru, and the Grenadines — refused to join the 130 other Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development member states that endorsed the plan.

Psst…this means that bigger countries could do well by having lower taxes too.

But then they’d have less control and have fewer opportunities for graft.

And they’d have a wealthier general populace which would entail a populace with more fredom and less dependence on the government.

And we clearly can’t have that.

Corporate taxes are stupid.

High corporate taxes are insanely stupid.

Multiple countries getting together and setting a minimum corporate tax rate is criminally stupid.

Unless One of Your Green Energy Sources Can Be Used to Make Cheap Gasoline, Forget It

Biden Admin Seemingly Has No Plan To Deal With Higher Gas Prices, Touts Green Energy Alternatives Instead | The Daily Wire

On Thursday, a reporter asked White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the administration’s actions to “keep rising prices on oil and natural gas and gasoline in check.”

“The reality is we continue to monitor global energy market supply, and we’ll work with our agency partners to determine if and when actions are needed,” she responded. “We will continue to look for ways to relieve the burden of energy costs on the American families, but we have no announcement at this time.”

However, Jean-Pierre noted that the high prices underscore “the continued need to diversify our energy and fuel sources.”

We were quite diversified a year ago before you started shutting down drilling and canceling pipelines. We were a net oil exporter. Now places in California are paying nearly $8/gal for gas.

“The Rock” Is a James Bond Film?

Interesting. I’d never heard this fan theory before, but apparently it’s all the rage.

The Rock's Wild James Bond Theory Possibly Proven True on Reddit (cbr.com)

This guy thinks he’s proven it.

It’s an interesting video. I watched the whole thing. There are two flaws in his reasoning.

  1. He excludes Never Say Never Again from his analysis because it’s not an EON production like all of the “legitimate” Bond films. Ok, but The Rock isn’t an EON film either. I can let that slide, though.
  2. This problem is worse for him. Another fan theory for ages has always been that “James Bond” is an alias. It’s the alias that goes with the number 007. That’s why we have so many Bonds. They are, in fact, different people. Our videographer rather lazily tosses that theory aside. He shouldn’t do so. In fact, i would say that the rest of his premise depends upon that being true. He shows how the timeline works for the Connery Bond to sync perfectly with what we know about The Rock and even the Bond films themselves. But the timeline doesn’t work if George Lazenby, Roger Moore, et al, are all the same Bond, because they’re out doing their Bond things while John Mason is in prison. It only works if during the period that Mason is in prison, the Bonds out their doing their Bond things isn’t him.

Still, it’s an interesting video, and I am impressed with how he ties everything together.

He Was in a ”Kill or Be Killed” Situation

Kyle Rittenhouse Was ‘Reasonable’ In Deciding To Shoot, Expert Testifies In Court (lifezette.com)

Kyle Rittenhouse got some much-needed good news on Tuesday during a pretrial hearing when a use-of-force expert testified that his actions during last year’s riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin were justified.

During the riots, Rittenhouse shot three men, killing two of them, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber. While taking the stand, John Black testified that video shows Rosenbaum chasing Rittenhouse before reaching for the defendant’s gun. The footage also shows Huber using his skateboard to attack Rittenhouse as he tried to wrestle his gun away from him, and Gaige Grosskreutz, who was wounded, running at the teenager with an armed pistol, according to WQAD 8.

He was in a “kill or be killed” situation and defended himself.

You can argue about the wisdom of getting into such a situation if you wish. But he didn’t seek to do violence, nor does it appear that he would have done any of not threatened. He is being persecuted and I hope once this is all over he goes to civil court and gets a nice fat paycheck.

Pretty Sure This Is a Direct Assault on His First Amendment Rights

Kentucky Cop Punished For Praying In Front Of Abortion Clinic Sues City | The Daily Wire

A Kentucky police officer who was placed on administrative leave for months over a morning he spent praying outside a Louisville abortion clinic while off-duty is suing both the police department and the city.

Officer Matthew Schrenger filed a federal lawsuit on Monday accusing the city of Louisville and the Louisville Metro Police Department of violating his constitutional and civil rights, including his First Amendment rights.

“A quiet, off-duty prayer, on a public sidewalk, resulted in Schrenger being immediately suspended for over four months, stripped of his police powers, and placed under investigation,” the complaint states.

The suit names Police Chief Erika Shields, the Louisville Metro Police Department, Mayor Greg Fischer, and the City of Louisville, Kentucky as defendants.

Yeah, I would expect this to be settled out of court quickly and quietly. Not sure the defendants have a leg to stand on, and this is something they definitely don’t want to have to defend in public.

This Is a Newspaper. You Can’t Have Open Debate Here!

WaPo Published a Column from Hugh Hewitt and the Left Had a Complete Meltdown (townhall.com)

It wasn’t even that provocative of a column. Hugh Hewitt is pretty mild-mannered. He’s not a fire-breather by any means. He wrote an opinion article that said basically that Dr. Fauci had become very divisive and wondered if that meant it was time for him to go.

He didn’t say it was time for Fauci to go because he was wrong about everything. He merely pointed out that Fauci has very passionate attackers and very passionate followers. And for an unelected public servant whose role is to set public policy, such passions might make it difficult for him to be effective.

It’s an interesting point. I doubt it will sway anyone’s opinion, most importantly Dr. Fauci, whom he did interview for the column.

But of course, the left went crazy, because their supposedly objective newspaper published a column by a journalist who is right of center.

BTW, someone should tell these people going berserk about this, that it kind of proves the point about “objectivity” at The Washington Post. They wouldn’t be in such an uproar if the paper commonly presented both sides of an argument. They’re used to only seeing things from the left, and that’s all they want to see.

“Moms Aren’t Terrorists” - You Wouldn’t Think That Would Be a Controversial Statement

Sen. Rand Paul Rips Biden, DOJ: ‘Moms’ Aren’t ‘Terrorists’ | The Daily Wire

“Moms at school boards are being told that they’re criminals, potential domestic terrorists, for the crime of dissent, and I think criminalizing dissent is something that we should all be appalled with,” Paul said Wednesday on Fox News.

Host Ben Domenech asked the senator what he would say to Americans worried that “if they go to their local school board and say the wrong thing, that they’re going to end up on some list that Merrick Garland goes after.”

“I would say be afraid. Be afraid of your government,” Paul said.

What’s the line about fear & government?

Oh yeah.

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.

This quote is commonly attributed to Thomas Jefferson, but that appears to be in error. Still, it has more than a kernel of truth, regardless of who said it first.

The only time in recent memory that our government feared the people was on January 6. That fear was massively overblown. But still, they hated it. They hate us, and they hate us all the more because we still have the power to scare them. We need to stand up to our government and show that we’re not going to let them turn is into sniveling cowards. And that they must fear us again.

Johns Hopkins Doctor Criticizes Vaccine Mandates, Stresses Natural Immunity | The Daily Wire

They don’t hire quacks at Johns Hopkins. I bet this guy knows a bit more than, well, anyone at Instagram.

Johns Hopkins’ Dr. Marty Makary is speaking out about blanket vaccine mandates that are “ruining lives” and bizarrely discount natural immunity, which he said studies have shown to be 27 times more effective than vaccinated immunity.

Makary, a professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and editor in chief of MedPage Today, told “Morning Wire” on Thursday that public health leaders’ hypothesis on natural and vaccinated immunity has proven to be “backwards.”

“The data on natural immunity are now overwhelming,” stressed Makary. “It turns out the hypothesis that our public health leaders had that vaccinated immunity is better and stronger than natural immunity was wrong. They got it backwards. And now we’ve got data from Israel showing that natural immunity is 27 times more effective than vaccinated immunity. And that supports 15 other studies.”

Huh. He has also written that vaccine mandates are unnecessary. They must hate him all over social media.

He’s like Farmer’s Insurance, though.

He knows a thing or two, because he’s seen a thing or two.

This is for personal information data breaches, of course. And only if the contractor tries to hide it. The cover-up is far worse than the original failure.

Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco said that the initiative allows the DoJ to pursue government contractors that keep silent about a breach incident or don’t comply with cybersecurity standards.

“Well that changes today. We are announcing today that we will use our civil enforcement tools to pursue companies, those who are government contractors who receive federal funds, when they fail to follow required cybersecurity standards” - Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco

Led by the Civil Division’s Commercial Litigation Branch, Fraud Section, the initiative will use the False Claims Act (FCA), which makes liable anyone who knowingly submits false claims to the government.

A whistleblower provision in the Act allows private parties to identify and pursue fraudulent conduct. Whistleblowers benefit from protection and receive a significant part of any recovered funds.

Good. Burn them to the ground.

Constitutionally, Border Control Is Under the Purview of State Governments, Not the Feds

That’s what my Libertarian friends have been telling me for years, anyway. That’s why they’re “open borders” people. They aren’t. They just don’t want the Federal Government involved.

So, this fits.

Governors Unveil Plan To End Biden’s Border Crisis: ‘We’re Not Going To Sit Around While Biden Refuses To Act’ | The Daily Wire

Ten Republican governors gathered in Mission, Texas, on Wednesday where they unveiled a 10-point plan to end Democrat President Joe Biden’s border crisis.

The event comes as the administration has faced catastrophic levels of illegal immigration on the U.S. southern border. Many directly blame Biden for the crisis, saying that his policies and messaging has created enormous incentive for migrants to illegally enter the U.S.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott was joined at the press conference by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, Idaho Governor Brad Little, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, and Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon.

The problem is that their “plan” isn’t really a plan at all. Most of the 10 points are just telling Biden what to do, not doing anything themselves. The things that they are doing themselves will likely face a court challenge from Biden, I would guess.

Manchin Shoots Down Democrats’ Talks Of Changing Filibuster For Debt Ceiling Vote | The Daily Wire

On Wednesday, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) shot down the possibility of amending the filibuster after Democrats reportedly discussed making an exemption from the rule for the debt ceiling vote.

“I truly implore both leaders…to engage, start working, work this out. There should not be a crisis,” Manchin told the press on Wednesday.

“I’ve been very, very clear where I stand, where I stand on the filibuster,” Manchin said. “I don’t have to repeat that. I think I’ve been very clear. Nothing changes. But the bottom line is we have a responsibility to be the adults. Our leadership has a responsibility to lead and that’s what I’m asking, imploring them to do.”

Unfortunately for Manchin, leading is beyond the capability of most Senators.

Caught on Video: Rashida Tlaib Admits She Only Wears Mask for Cameras (freebeacon.com)

Just weeks before the event, the "Squad" member faced criticism when she danced maskless at a crowded, indoor wedding in Dearborn, Mich. The video surfaced on the same day Tlaib slammed Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.) for urging his followers to "resist" Centers for Disease Control and Prevention masking guidelines. Tlaib attended the wedding days after the CDC recommended wearing masks indoors regardless of vaccination status in local areas with "high" community transmission—a categorization that applied to Dearborn at the time.

GALLUP: GOP Now Viewed As Better Party For Security, Prosperity | The Daily Wire

Everything the GOP stands for is designed to improve Security and Prosperity. Those words aren’t associated with anything the Democrats stand for.

“Americans by significant margins now view the Republican Party as better than the Democratic Party at protecting the nation from international threats (54% to 39%, respectively) and at ensuring the nation remains prosperous (50% to 41%),” Gallup reported.

“The 15-percentage-point GOP advantage on security matters is its largest since 2015, while its nine-point edge on prosperity is its largest since 2014. Last year, the GOP had a narrow advantage on international matters while the parties were essentially tied on economic matters.

NASA To Nudge Asteroid To Keep It From Threatening Earth | The Daily Wire

The U.S. space agency plans to conduct a mission next month to deflect a pair of asteroids far out in deep space to keep them from threatening Earth.

Dubbed the DART Mission, or the Double Asteroid Redirection Test, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will send spacecraft to a pair of asteroids — the Didymos binary — on November 24 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

If all goes as planned, DART will smash into one of the two asteroids, known as Didymoon, at roughly 13,500 mph nearly a full year later, on October 2, 2022.

Didymoon is more than 500 feet wide and orbits a much larger space rock known as Didymos, which is five times as big.

Parents Fight Back

EPIC: 427,000 Parents Respond to National School Board Association Labeling Them 'Domestic Terrorists' – PJ Media

Joint Statement In Response to National School Board Association Accusation of Parents Engaging in 'Domestic Terrorism' - Parents Defending Education

Ms. Viola M. Garcia and Mr. Chip Slaven
National School Board Association
1680 Duke St Fl. 2
Alexandria, VA 22314

Sent via Electronic Mail (info@nsba.org)

Dear Ms. Garcia and Mr. Slaven,
On behalf of our 427,000 members, the undersigned organizations write in response to your September 29th letter to President Biden requesting “federal assistance to stop threats and acts of violence” against school board members, school officials, and teachers.
In that letter you requested that the federal government “investigate, intercept, and prevent the
current threats and acts of violence against our public school officials through existing statutes,
executive authority, interagency and intergovernmental task forces, and other extraordinary measures”
and that the government leverage “the expertise and resources of the U.S. Department of Justice,
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, and its
National Threat Assessment Center.”
NSBA cites a tiny number of minor incidents in order to insinuate that parents who are criticizing and
protesting the decisions of school boards are engaging in, or may be engaging in, “domestic terrorism
and hate crimes.” NSBA even invokes the PATRIOT Act. The association of legitimate protest with
terrorism and violence reveals both your contempt for parents and your unwillingness to understand
and hear the sincere cries of parents on behalf of their children. To equate parents with terrorists
dishonors the thousands of victims of actual terrorism around the world. Have you no shame?
Your letter to President Biden is a thinly veiled threat, intended to intimidate into silence and
submission the very constituents that your members ostensibly represent.
Our organizations unequivocally oppose violence and find it deeply troubling that you imply otherwise
about concerned citizens who care deeply about their community’s children – and who are concerned
by the direction that America’s schools have taken.
Citizens are angry that school boards and school officials around the country are restricting access to
public meetings, limiting public comment, and in some cases conducting business via text messages in
violation of state open meetings laws. They are angry that schools are charging them thousands of
dollars in public records requests to view curriculum and training materials that impact their children
and that should be open to the public by default. They are angry that pandemic-related learning losses
have compounded the already-low reading, writing, and math proficiency rates in America’s schools.
They are angry that rather than focusing on declining student achievement, large numbers of districts
have chosen to fund, often with hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer money, “social justice”
and “diversity, equity, and inclusion” programs with finite resources.
Your members refuse to listen to these concerns – and your association has chosen to smear their
constituents rather than engage with them in good faith. It is appalling that you would choose to
threaten your fellow Americans for having the courage to hold you accountable for your failures.
We will not be bullied. We will not have our speech chilled. We have a constitutional right to petition
our elected officials, and we will continue to do so.
We ask that your organization – and your members – engage respectfully and constructively with the
country’s parents, grandparents, and concerned citizens so that we might work together to address and
improve the quality of America’s public education system for all children.
Sincerely,

In Biden’s America, You Can Be Suspended for Refusing to Be Racist

Insane: UCLA Prof Suspended for Treating Students Equally – PJ Media

“I was suspended from my job,” Klein explained, “for refusing to treat my black students as lesser than their non-black peers.” His ordeal began on June 2, 2020, when “a non-black student in my class on tax principles and law emailed me to ask that I grade his black classmates with greater ‘leniency’ than others in the class.”

In a sane society, a “non-black student” who demanded that black students be graded with greater “leniency” than others would be castigated as a racist.

That’s because it is racist.

As I said previously. This. Must. Stop. Now.

If You Missed the Inflation of the 70s, Don’t Worry. We Have Another Failure of a Democrat President.

Key Inflation Measure At Highest Level Since 1991, Outpacing Income Growth | The Daily Wire

The PCEPI — used by the Federal Reserve to set its inflation rate targets — has risen for the past several months. In April, the metric hit a 3.6% year-over-year growth rate before rising to 4.0% in June and 4.2% in July.

Nice. I love that it’s still rising too. Also, it’s important to point out that the inflation indices actually don’t track a lot of common household purchases. And the things that it doesn’t track usually rise in price faster than the so-called inflation rate. So, the “real” rate is even higher.

Doesn’t that make you fell great?

Welcome to Biden’s America.

You voted for this.

I’m Shocked! Shocked to Find Out That Men Have Physical Advantages Over Women!

Blockbuster Report: UK Sport Finds Trans Athletes Should Not Compete Against Women, Testosterone Suppression ‘Does Not Negate’ Physical Advantage | The Daily Wire

This is a shocking report. I’m going to have to sit a minute and take this news in. This completely changes everything.

Oh wait.

No it doesn’t. This is exactly what any sane person would have expected.

Currently, the International Olympic Committee allows male-to-female transgender individuals to compete in women’s events provided their testosterone remains below a certain threshold — 10 nanomoles per liter — for at least a year before international competition.

Testosterone suppression, though, U.K. Sport found, “does not take away the physical advantages of trans women in female sport,” and as such, it “isn’t possible  to guarantee safety and competitive fairness in some sports.”

“Current research indicates that testosterone suppression does not negate this physical advantage over females and so cannot guarantee competitive fairness and/or safety,” the report said.

We are going to destroy women’s sports. Forget all the progress women have made in sports over the last 50 years. It’s over. Done. Kaput.

Well, it was a fun ride. Thanks for the memories.

Largest Health Care Provider In New York Fires 1,400 Unvaccinated Workers (lifezette.com)

Fewer healthcare workers = less and poorer treatment = more fatalities = longer pandemic

Hmm.

Strange.

Not Pointing This Out Because of the Hypocrisy

No. All politicians are hypocrites. I just want a record of this the next time some Democrat screams about the evils of Republican gerrymandering.

New York Democrats Push Partisan Redistricting Amendment (city-journal.org)

In March 2012, New York governor Andrew Cuomo expressed support for a state constitutional amendment that would, he said, “permanently reform the redistricting process in New York to once and for all end self-interested and partisan gerrymandering.” Sponsored in the state assembly by top Democrats and Republicans and endorsed by influential nonprofits and “good government” advocates, the amendment—called Proposal 1—passed overwhelmingly in the state legislature, was affirmed with over 57 percent of the popular vote on the 2014 ballot, and became part of the state constitution. But just seven years after its approval, and before it was ever implemented, the amendment may be removed and replaced.

What accounts for such a turnaround? The answer is simple. Albany Democrats have something that they didn’t have during the last redistricting cycle: absolute one-party control of New York’s state government.

Huh. Imagine that.

Wow, Who Could Have Seen This Coming?

Althouse: "But some Portlanders came to see the demonstrations as a threat to the city’s appeal to tourists and investors."

'Lenders and purchasers have for all intents and purposes blacklisted Portland,' said John Russell, a longtime Portland real estate developer. Dramatic clashes between protesters and law enforcement provided the opportunity for right-wing politicians and media to depict the city as besieged by violent anarchists and, as Donald Trump claimed, 'ablaze all the time.'... Far-right groups had turned the city into a culture war battleground....

Excuse me, “far-right groups had turned the city into a culture war battleground”? Far-right groups?

Sometimes I wish I could live in the liberal universe. Things are so different there. Sorry, but it wasn’t the far-right groups burning the city down. And that’s the reason for your financial woes. Blaming it on the right is blind ignorance. Open your eyes and you might be able to solve the problem.

General MacArthur returns to the Philippines.

"I came through and I shall return," those were the famous words announced by General Douglas MacArthur on March 20, 1942, as he arrived in Australia, following an audacious escape from Japanese-occupied Philippines. Their island in the Philippines - which had been an American territory until the Japanese occupation - had been surrounded by the Japanese. MacArthur's defense and escape captured the imagination of Americans back home and he became a symbol of resistance.
His escape from near certain capture was welcomed by most, though Joseph Goebbels named him the "fleeing general" and Benito Mussolini called him a coward. Nevertheless MacArthur promised to return, and after being awarded the Medal of Honor was put in charge of all American activities in the South West Pacific.
Over the next two years, bitter fighting would allow MacArthur's promise to come true. On October 20, 1944 MacArthur waded ashore in Leyte after his troops had invaded and secured a beachhead. He then declared triumphantly: "People of the Philippines: I have returned."

Thank God This Man Is Not a Supreme Court Justice. How Do We Get Him Removed From the AG Spot?

The censorship has restricted them from uploading or live streaming during the strike period.

This is not the first occurrence as YouTube has regularly censored RSBN’s feeds since the 2020 presidential election.

On September 30, 90 days after the previous strike against RSBN ended, the network was reinstated after being penalized for violating the selectively enforced “standards” of YouTube. YouTube then issued another strike the day after the previous one ended.

We So Wanted to Do the ”Cool” Thing That We Legalized This Druge Before We Really Knew Anything About It

Cannabis users at 'much higher' risk of developing mental health issues (medicalxpress.com)

In fairness, we don’t know which is cause and which is effect here.

In a new study, published in Psychological Medicine, researchers in the University of Birmingham's Institute for Mental Health and the Institute of Applied Health Research found a strong link between general practice recorded cannabis use and mental ill health in one of the largest cohorts ever explored.

Senior author Dr. Clara Humpston said: "Cannabis is often considered to be one of the 'safer' drugs and has also shown promise in medical therapies, leading to calls for it be legalized globally. Although we are unable to establish a direct causal relationship, our findings suggest we should continue to exercise caution since the notion of cannabis being a safe drug may well be mistaken."

Dr. Joht Singh Chandan said: "The research reaffirms the need to ensure a public health approach to recreational drug use continues to be adopted across the UK. We must continue to progress measures to improve the prevention and detection of drug use as well as implement the appropriate supportive measures in an equitable manner to prevent the secondary negative health consequences."

More study is needed. And perhaps more control over the drug.

Judge contends Justice Department biased against Jan. 6 protesters | One America News Network (oann.com)

That’s been obvious from the very beginning. These people have been treated far more harshly than the people burning down cities in 2020.

A federal judge suggested the Department of Justice has been biased in its sentencing of January 6 protesters. During the sentencing of accused protester Danielle Doyle on Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden suggested rioters in Washington D.C. and elsewhere during 2020’s civil unrest were given lesser sentences than those who participated in the incident at the Capitol.

McFadden added the Justice Department would “have more credibility if it was even-handed in its concern about riots and mobs in the city.” He also questioned why more protesters throughout the 2020 riots weren’t brought to court.

Most of us sane people are wondering the same thing.

Hate Crime at Missouri School Turns Out to Be Another Hoax – PJ Media

The graffiti was found in the boys’ bathroom at Parkway Central Wednesday, and the same things were scrawled on a bathroom wall at Parkway North: “HOPE ALL BLACK PEOPLE DIE” and “N****R.” The next morning at Parkway Central, according to St. Louis’ KMOV, “over a thousand students and staff walked out of Parkway Central High Schools in solidarity… Parkway Central students, staff and teachers walked out during class to stand in solidarity and asking the administration for change.”

How did the school administration react?

Parkway Central Principal Tim McCarthy, however, was not in the least inclined to sweep the matter under the rug, and appeared anxious to do better. He took immediate action, telling students: “As your building principal, these actions which degrade individuals’ human dignity have no place in school. They have no place at Central High and are antithetical to our core values of respect, integrity and caring.”

Of course. And McCarthy wasn’t finished. He sent a note home to parents informing them that “a serious incident” had taken place: “Racist hate speech was written on bathroom walls at school.” He assured parents, in case any were wondering whether he approved of this, that “this act is an affront to the core values of our community and a serious violation of our discipline code. Please know that we take this offense seriously and will work with district officials to investigate the incident and hold anyone involved accountable for their actions.”

But…

Amid all this affirmation of prevailing pieties, which hardly anyone actually rejects, there was just one catch: on Tuesday, a black student admitted to having scrawled the graffiti at both schools. Marty wrote to parents again, telling them this and saying that he was nevertheless “proud” of the students who protested, for “proactively [leading] walkouts.” He declared: “We remain hurt by the actions of the student, as it does not represent the values of our community.”

PRO TIP: Maybe wait for the facts next time before foaming at the mouth. Might save you from looking like an idiot later.

Concerned parents are now “domestic terrorists”. I think our government is made up of “domestic terrorists”.

Concerned Parents Are 'Immediate Threat' Says National School Boards Association President—Some Are Even Domestic Terrorists! – PJ Media

This won’t end well.

It’s completely understandable that many parents around the country are fed up. They’re fed up with not only the onerous and arbitrary pandemic-related safety measures but also the racist and radical left-wing ideologies being forced upon kids in our taxpayer-funded schools. America’s parents are concerned and pushing back.

What’s not so understandable (unless you’re a leftist) is the reaction to the pushback by those in the top echelons of our educational system. Case in point, on Thursday, National School Board Association (NSBA) president Viola Garcia sent out a hysterical—yet revealing—letter not to school board members or parents, but to the president of the United States, Joe Biden.

What was in the letter?

Not only does Garcia, blame parents for “threats and intimidations” instead of her own failed leftist school boards, but she also raises the crazy bar to high by equating upset parents’ attempts to speak at school board meetings as “equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.” She even calls for numerous federal law enforcement agencies to target those parents.

“NSBA specifically solicits the expertise and resources of the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, and its National Threat Assessment Center regarding the level of risk to public school children, educators, board members, and facilities/campuses,” Garcia writes. “We also request the assistance of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service to intervene against threatening letters and cyberbullying attacks that have been transmitted to students, school board members, district administrators, and other educators.”

Wow. That’s a whole lotta crazy in two mere paragraphs. I think Ms. Garcia needs to take a long sabbatical and seek professional help.

“I’d rather them keep a Confederate monument than a statue of Clarence Thomas,” McLeod said. “That’s how much I don’t like the idea.”

Judge rules Wisconsin sheriff's office violated First Amendment by ordering student to delete Instagram post (reclaimthenet.org)

This is pretty clearly stated and is 100% correct.

The court has ruled that Sheriff Joseph Konrath violated the First Amendment by sending Sergeant Klump to threaten Amyiah’s parents.

The ruling starts by stating: “The SARS-CoV-2 virus and COVID-19 have had a tremendous impact on American society. But, as this case makes clear, that impact has its limits and, more specifically, does not extend to overriding the protections of the First Amendment…

“The parties agree that the facts are not disputed. Indeed, the entirety of Sergeant Klump’s encounter with Amyiah and her parents is captured in a dash-cam video. That video, along with other record evidence, establishes that Defendants violated Amyiah’s free-speech rights by demanding that she take down her social media posts or face criminal citation or arrest,” the ruling continued.

“Even if short and often grammatically scurrilous, social media posts do not fall outside the ambit of the First Amendment. To the contrary, they are exactly what the First Amendment seeks to protect.”

Can’t argue with that. Glad one judge gets it, at least.
