And Now Winston Churchill Isn’t Good Enough—For Brits!

Cambridge University Panel: Winston Churchill A “White Supremacist” Leading Empire “Worse Than The Nazis” (infowars.com)

A Cambridge University panel of academics discussing wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s legacy concluded that the leader who helped defeat Hitler was actually a “white supremacist” and was leading an empire “worse than the Nazis”.

Well, isn’t that nice?

Churchill had his faults, as did the British Empire, which is one reason the British Empire doesn’t really exist anymore. But worse than Nazis? I don’t think you can back up such a statement. I dare you to say it in front of a Jew.

Another academic, Dr Madhusree Mukerjee, dismissed Britain’s role in the Second World War, stating that “It was the Soviets who defeated the Nazis and the Americans who defeated the Japanese.”

Ok, I admit my knowledge of British military campaigns in  WWII is not the best, but I don’t think you can back that up.

What destroyed the Germans in WWII was having to fight a two front war. Hitler could have wiped out the Soviets if he didn’t have to worry about covering his back. Now some of that was the Americans. Ok, a lot of it was the Americans. But you have to give the Brits credit for not succumbing and keeping fighting long enough for the Americans to join the War and get a foothold in it. Remember, Great Britain was the first real obstacle that Hitler faced. His Blitzkrieg maneuvers totally rolled over the rest of Europe. If he’d been as successful against Great Britain, the War would have turned out much differently. I’m not even sure how the Americans can help all that much in the European Theater without the aid of Great Britain.

There were other things that Great Britain did. They were instrumental in the Tunisia Campaign and in defeating Italy, thus pretty much eliminating the southern front (I don’t know if anyone actually calls it that—that’s my moniker) as an issue.

Also, they kept the shipping lanes somewhat open, although it was the American B-24 that really turned the tide (no pun) in the Atlantic. They provided air bases for the combined British and American bombing campaigns in France and Germany. Again, the War in Europe would not have been won without this.

Finally, the Brits more than held up their end in Operation Overlord (D-Day), which began the final offensive against Hitler’s Germany.

So, while they may not have done much against Japan (although even against Japan their contribution was greater than zero—see Madagascar), victory in Europe would have been impossible without Churchill and the Brits.

Implying or stating otherwise is to be completely ignorant of WWII history. I know I don’t know all that much, but I know enough to realize how ludicrous such a belief actually is.

All Democrats voted in favor of conviction, in addition to seven Republicans, including Richard Burr of North Carolina, Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Senator Susan Collins of Maine, Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska, Senator Mitt Romney of Utah, and Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.

Despite the evidence, despite the fact that the entire trial was clearly and unequivocally un-Constitutional, these seven members allowed their personal dislike of Trump to prevent them from upholding their vows to the Constitution.

They are now and forever will be Enemies of the Republic.

The Oregon Department of Education is promoting a program for teachers that seeks to “disman[tle] racism in mathematics,” alleging that focusing on finding the right answer is a symbol of white supremacy.

And:

The toolkit also asks instructors to “center ethnomathematics” in multiple ways, one of which is to “identify and challenge the ways that math is used to uphold capitalist, imperialist, and racist views.”

Oh. My. God.

There are no words for just how batshit crazy this is. And such beliefs are destructive to our way of life, not just to America, but the entire world. I can’t even imagine how horrible our lives would be if people felt this way for the last thousand years. We’d still be in the dark ages. We would have never even invented the bow and arrow.

This is the edge of leftism now. But the last 50 years show us that what is at the edge now, is mainstream in less than 10 years.

I fear for my children growing up in such a world.

Senate Democrats Voted To Protect Grandma Killer Andrew Cuomo Last Week (pjmedia.com)

They knew that if they could get Biden elected, the Democrats would protect them.

“Last week, every Senate Democrat voted against my amendment to hold states like New York accountable for misreporting data on COVID-related nursing home deaths,” Senator Tim Scott [(R-SC)] said in a statement Thursday evening. “Now we find out the truth. This is unacceptable, & those involved must be held accountable.”

Governor Cuomo’s political capital is taking a huge hit. Democrats in his own state aren’t willing to make excuses for him anymore, yet Democrats in the U.S. Senate apparently didn’t want him held accountable. But, in light of the recent revelations from Melissa DeRosa, perhaps every Senate Democrat needs to be asked if they stand by their vote.

They’re all just horrible people. They don’t care about you. They don’t care that Cuomo sentenced thousands of senior citizens to die. They care about power. Power over you. Power for them.

This is what 80 million of you voted for.

Democrats Still Don’t Get It

Trump was always an effect, not a cause.

Their actions are the cause. And if they keep it up, they’ll get something worse than Trump.

Just to mark the point, it’s not our intention here to assert that Mr. Trump is innocent. It’s only to mark the part of due process that requires that the burden rest entirely on the House. It is asking the Senate to bar a former president from public life until the end of his days. The fact is that the Democrats are scared of a Trump comeback, and the House made no secret of it.

On the contrary, it warned in open Senate against acquitting Mr. Trump, because that would leave open the possibility that he could rebound and run for president again. That is what the Democrats’ long campaign for impeachment has been about from the start — fear of the voters. It seems that the Democrats are impeaching not so much the former president but the 74 million Americans who voted for him and, they fear, might yet do so again.

Well, stop treating half of America like they’re lower than dirt, and perhaps you won’t get another Trump. It seems like it’s in your DNA though. I expect the next four years to be horrible for this country. I expect someone to be elected President in 2024 that the Democrats will like even less than Trump. And it’s all their own fault.

We know you hate us. The problem for you is that we don’t care anymore.

That’s part of the reason this blog is semi-anonymous. You can track down my identity. It’s not hard. But I don’t advertise it. And knowing my identity wouldn’t point you to this blog. You’d have to go the other way around.

And that’s sad.

Recent polls suggest that nearly two-thirds of Americans report self-censoring about politics at least occasionally, essentially becoming a nation of doublethinkers despite the magnificent constitutional protections for free thought and expression enshrined in the Bill of Rights.

Yes, that’s me. I admit it. I’m a self-censoring doublethinker.

Twitter Confirms Ban On Trump Permanent, Even If He Runs In 2024 | The Daily Wire

Twitter confirmed Wednesday that former President Donald Trump [(R-USA)] will always be banned from their platform, even if run decides to run for office again in 2024.

“As for Trump returning to Twitter one day, the company’s CFO Ned Segal made it clear Wednesday that’s not an option,” reported CNBC. “Segal told CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box‘ Wednesday that Trump would never be allowed to return to the site, even if he decides to run for office again.”

Being the Twitter candidate helped Trump win the White House. They won’t let that happen again.

But here’s the problem from my perspective. Trump was legally required to make his tweets available to the public. He was not allowed to block anyone. SCOTUS said so.

So, how is it that Trump isn’t allowed to block any of his followers, but Twitter can block all of Trump’s followers?

The inconsistency is mind-boggling.

But behind the scenes, Ducklo had previously lashed out at Politico reporter Tara Palmeri, who was reporting the story, exhibiting behavior that led to tense meetings between the Washington news outlet’s editors and senior White House officials.

President Barack Obama (D-USA) went after the press also, including sending the DoJ after at least one. But none of that matters. These are Democrats!

Trump was far worse. He hurt their feelings. And that’s unforgivable.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s [(D-NY)] top aide privately apologized to Democratic lawmakers for withholding the state’s nursing home death toll from COVID-19 — telling them “we froze” out of fear that the true numbers would “be used against us” by federal prosecutors, The Post has learned.

The stunning admission of a coverup was made by secretary to the governor Melissa DeRosa during a video conference call with state Democratic leaders in which she said the Cuomo administration had rebuffed a legislative request for the tally in August because “right around the same time, [then-President Donald Trump] turns this into a giant political football,” according to an audio recording of the two-hour-plus meeting.

I don’t think it was President Donald Trump (R-USA) that turned it into a “giant political football”. I think that was done by others. But it doesn’t matter. Did you lie about the death toll or not? And to whom?

Even the Democrats in New York are unhappy about this.

Cuomo has been probably the worst governor in America at handling the China Virus crisis. He was held up as some kind of superhero by the media, but that case is finally collapsing. Eventually someone points out that the Emperor has no clothes. This is awfully late coming, but at least it’s coming.

I’m glad the heat is on. Democrats have an amazing ability to weather almost any storm though. We shall see.

Project Veritas Permanently Banned by Twitter

Twitter permanently banned an account on Thursday belonging to Project Veritas, a conservative group founded by controversial activist James O'Keefe.

The decision followed what a Twitter spokesperson described to CNN Business as repeated violations of the platform's policies prohibiting sharing — or threats of sharing — other people's private information without consent.

I guess they’ll be banning the accounts for 60 Minutes, The New York Times, and The Washington Post next. These rules would not allow us to discuss Watergate, among many other things, on Twitter. Assuming the rules were applied across the board that is.

But the rules won’t be applied across the board. The rules are an excuse to silence conservatives. It’s going to get worse, a lot worse, before it gets better.

Democrats Pound the Table

Impeachment managers appeal to Senators’ emotions, not their reason | Power Line (powerlineblog.com)

On making their case to the Senate, the House impeachment managers are focusing on the Capitol riot itself rather than on Donald Trump’s responsibility, if any, for it. Yesterday, Senators watched video of a mob going after Mike Pence, Nancy Pelosi, and others, injuring police officers in the process.

The video seems to have made an impression on Republican Senators, most of whom, I’m sure, were already disgusted by what happened at the Capitol. If the House managers could show that Trump is culpable for the rioting — that he advocated or desired it — they could probably win additional Republicans over. Perhaps they could even approach the two-thirds majority required for conviction.

But showing video of the rioting won’t accomplish this. Nor is it likely to sway many Americans. The public, I believe, has moved past the rioting even if, understandably, those who experienced it directly have not.

Where is the evidence that Trump advocated or desired the rioting that took place? It’s not in the House impeachment article. That document focuses solely on Trump’s claims that he won the election and won it in a landslide — claims he had an absolute right in a free country to voice — and his statement that Americans need to “fight like hell” to keep their country.

Political columnist Patrick Buchanan understood the Democrats approach, way back in 1975:

There is an old trial lawyers’ saying “When the facts are on your side, pound the facts. When the law is on your side, pound the law. When neither is on you side, pound the table.”

The Democrats are pounding the table hard.

You Can’t Handle the Truth

Lots of discussion lately on inaccurate fatality counts from the China Virus, particularly in New York nursing homes, but elsewhere also.

So, predictably, Democrats step in to shut down that kind of talk.

Andrew Cuomo’s (D) administration had “undercounted” the number of coronavirus-related fatalities in nursing homes “by as much as 50 percent.”

Wow, off by 50%. Seems like this bears some deeper investigation. But that would further damage the false reputation of Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) and his response to the China Virus. The left has to have a hero on this and they’ve chosen him, no matter what the facts are.

And that means protecting him and protecting you from learning the truth.

Not just the New York Senate Democrats either:

The only difference is that one post comes from a left-leaning actor, and one from a right-leaning actor.

You’d be hard pressed to come up with a more blatant example of having different rules for the left and for the right.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds is dropping the state’s COVID-19 mandates. According to a proclamation by the Republican lawmaker, businesses no longer have to abide by strict safety policies from now until March 7.

This means local business and restaurant owners now have the freedom to choose how to regulate their establishments. Reynolds said she’s still asking business owners to stay responsible.

The governor added, Iowans know what needs to be done and “it does not require a government mandate.”

I know I keep saying it, but we must get the economy moving again. And that is going to involve trying to return to something approaching “normal”.

Are they “Former Republican Officials” or “Former Republican” Officials? Sounds Like the Latter

Dozens of former Republican officials, who view the party as unwilling to stand up to former President Donald Trump and his attempts to undermine U.S. democracy, are in talks to form a center-right breakaway party, four people involved in the discussions told Reuters.

I can think of no better way to ensure a Democrat majority than to fracture the Republican party. And these people are smart enough tor realize that, so I have to believe that’s the goal.

McMullin said just over 40% of those on last week’s Zoom call backed the idea of a breakaway, national third party. Another option under discussion is to form a “faction” that would operate either inside the current Republican Party or outside it.

Names under consideration for a new party include the Integrity Party and the Center Right Party. If it is decided instead to form a faction, one name under discussion is the Center Right Republicans.

Members are aware that the U.S. political landscape is littered with the remains of previous failed attempts at national third parties.

“But there is a far greater hunger for a new political party out there than I have ever experienced in my lifetime,” one participant said.

Huh. I’m probably less interested in it than at any point in my lifetime. I honestly am struggling to come up with a dumber idea than this.

Donald Trump Jr. is urging Republicans to stop being afraid of the Democrats and the media and begin fighting back just as hard as the Democrats are fighting against Republicans, or more accurately, former President Donald Trump who is out of office yet still managing to make Democrats stomp their feet and flail their arms around.

I continue to find it amazing that after so many years of conservatives saying that we needed an outsider and a straight-talker as President, that when we finally got one, they were completely turned off by him.

Make up your minds.

Yes, President Donald Trump (R-USA) eschewed many commonly conservative ideas. But he brought conservative judges and justices, lower taxes, support for the family, record low unemployment, renegotiated NAFTA, and peace in the Middle East. And he continually fought back against the MSM and the Democrats while doing it.

If you call yourself a conservative and that’s not good enough for you, then perhaps you’re setting your standards a bit too high.

Or, you’re not a conservative at all.

No. Just…No.

Remake of 'Wizard of Oz' Announced by New Line Cinema (breitbart.com)

Director Nicole Kassell has been joined by New Line Cinema to announce a new production of The Wizard Of Oz is now being planned.

More than 80 years have passed since the original film premiered, however Hollywood now appears ready for a revisit of the much-loced classsic, with Kassell saying she is well aware of the care needed when dealing with a piece of movie history.

“While the 1939 musical is part of my DNA, I am exhilarated and humbled by the responsibility of reimagining such a legendary tale,” Kassell said, according to Variety. “The opportunity to examine the original themes – the quest for courage, love, wisdom and home – feels more timely and urgent than ever.

Just…don’t. Don’t walk away. Run. No good can come of this.

Systemic Bias

We all make mistakes. Some are avoidable. Andrea Mitchell of NBC is in trouble for this tweet.

She’s mistaken. The full quote from Macbeth, Act 5, Scene 5 is:

Mitchell, however, is clearly thinking of The Sounds and the Fury by William Faulkner. But, as John Hindraker at Power Line Blog points out:

Here’s the thing, though. No one who studied Faulkner even superficially could fail to understand that the title of The Sound and the Fury was a Shakespearean reference. This was explained in every freshman English class where Faulkner’s book has been taught.

Here’s why: The full Shakespeare quote, from MacBeth, says that life “is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” Why did Faulkner choose that Shakespeare quote for the title of his book? Because the first section of The Sound and the Fury is, in fact, a “tale told by an idiot.” It is a narrative by a character named Benji who lacks normal mental capacity. He describes many things that he does not understand–other people playing golf, for example–and the art of that section of the book is for Faulkner to write it so that Benji doesn’t understand what he is seeing, but we do.

Hindraker goes on to say that Mitchell clearly “knows little or nothing about Shaespeare or Faulkner”. That would be depressing, if true, since according to Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit:

It gets worse. According to Wikipedia, at least, she majored in English Literature at Penn.

Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post gets in on the act:

And Reynolds points out that “these people consider themselves the best and the brightest.”

I don’t think they’re stupid. I think the answer is simpler, and it allows me to use one of the left’s favorite buzzwords.

I think the answer lies in systemic bias against conservatives. Leftists have an unwavering belief that all conservatives are stupid. And because of this and their own smug superiority, they see “gotcha” moments everywhere, and can’t wait to pounce when one arrives.

See, if I saw Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) or even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-12) say something that seemed off to me, I wouldn’t immediately leap to tweet about how stupid they are. I would check to make sure my memory is correct first.

In fact, I just tried this from my phone. I opened up a search page and started typing “sound and “ and that was enough to get a suggestion of “sound and fury signifying nothing”. Tapped to search, and after the bits about Andrea Mitchell and Ted Cruz, the next few results were all about Shakespeare. Took me about 10-15 seconds. Mitchell could have done this.

But the systemic bias against conservatives doesn’t allow leftists to do that. They have to show their superiority, and that must be done immediately while the iron is hot.

Exit question: Jennifer Rubin’s response seems to imply that because Cruz doesn’t know the origin of the quote, that he has no soul. But since Cruz is right and it’s Rubin that’s wrong, does that mean that she’s the one with no soul?

Oh we know why. It’s all symbolism. Personally I think it’s a horrible symbol, but I’m not a partisan Democrat.

The Democrats are using this as their Reichstag (boy that word is hard to spell, even for a German like me) moment. For those of you who don’t know the reference, the Reichstag was basically the German’s Capitol Building. There was a great fire in February of 1933. The cause was allegedly arson by the Communist Party of Germany, although proof of that claim is limited.

But the Nazi party seized upon this moment, and used it to convince the German public that their lives were in danger from the extremist Communist Party.

Hitler then used that fear to pass the Reichstag Fire Decree which removed many German Civil Liberties and was used to imprison anyone who dared disagree with the Nazis.

All too familiar.

The fake emergency has been extended to March. The FBI continues falsely claiming that there is some sort of threat that requires 7,500 soldiers to conduct a military occupation of the nation’s capital. The FBI’s claims that this threat would occur during “First Amendment-protected protests” has a massive credibility problem because there have been no protests in D.C.

Even though these protests have yet to emerge for over a month, the occupation goes on.

The fascist theater of the military occupation is a pretext for a political occupation with Democrats inciting political purges in legislatures, both state and national, of any Republicans who criticised the stolen election and called for accountability on behalf of the voters. A purge is also underway of the military and law enforcement to root out “extremists” from the same forces that the Democrats have deployed to intimidate Americans and suppress political dissent.

All too familiar.

A White House sign language interpreter has become another victim of “cancel culture” after the mainstream media found out she was Trump supporter.

According to reports, Heather Mewshaw has not been called back to the White House since an article revealed she manages an ASL team that translates speeches at conservative events. Mewshaw said she was “cancelled and humiliated” after facing harassment and intimidation online.

So, now they don’t have interpreters every day. It was more important to them to shame a Trump supporter than it was to be accessible to the deaf.

These people hate you. They really really hate you.

White House Correspondent Whines that Kayleigh McEnany was Abusive

Yahoo News White House correspondent Brittany Shepherd came down hard on former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. She compared McEnany's White House briefings to “having a really bad ex-boyfriend. We were getting essentially abused by Kayleigh for so long.”

Awww…poor widdle snowfwake had some wough days at work.

I miss Kayleigh. Some of the best White House press briefings I’ve ever seen. And unlike Psaki, she came to the briefings prepared. She had an answer for anything that anyone in the press asked. She never had to “circle back”.

Sheperd’s problem is that she didn’t like McEnany’s answers. That’s because usually the answers showed that the person asking the question was either an idiot or a hypocrite or both.

The press thinks they’re better than you. They don’t like being challenged. McEnany challenged them to do their homework. They failed. And she called them on the carpet for it.

I have no sympathy for Shepherd whatsoever. Do your job and the press secretary won’t be able to make fun of you or make you look ridiculous.

The Democrats Idea of Unity is Different From Mine

If they really wanted Unity, they’d drop this farce of an impeachment trial. Actions speak far louder than words.

This was the team that promised a benevolent grandpa president who was going to heal the divisions that were supposedly created by ORANGE MAN BAD.

I bring it up again because they keep doing it. If all of the “blah, blah, blah” about healing and unity were at all real goals the Dalai Biden could have gone a long way towards achieving them by doing just one thing: by telling Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to back off of this sham kangaroo court impeachment proceeding.

Truth, but the next paragraph is the important one (emphasis mine).

Of course, we are well beyond that point now. I’m just pointing it out to reinforce the fact that virtually everything Team Biden said in order to get elected was a bald-faced lie.

It’s okay that they don’t really want Unity. Frankly, neither do I. I have no desire whatsoever to unify with people who did everything possible over the last four years to burn this country down. And if your idea of unity is to impeach a President who’s no longer in office, then I say to take your offer of unity and stick it where the sun don’t shine.

When you start trying to uplift America and stop trying to destroy it, then we’ll have unity. And not one second sooner.

Note the date here: 1910. 100 years later, that would be 2010. Who was President then? Obama.

Obama was invited to speak at the 100th anniversary of the Scouts. He declined. He appeared on the TV show The View instead.

Deportation warnings halted because they cause ‘undue stress’ on illegal migrants (washingtonexaminer.com)

In a further reversal of Trump policies, the Biden administration has ordered immigration officials to stop warning illegal migrants caught trying to scam the system that they might face deportation because it causes “undue stress.”

The new ruling from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services essentially locks in President Biden’s wishes to end the deportation of illegal immigrants, even if they are caught lying about their applications for U.S. taxpayer-funded services, a green card or asylum.

The order arrived in an email Wednesday that said officers are no longer to tell those denied immigration benefits — called a “customer” — that they have to return for a court date and likely deportation. It is called a Notice to Appear, or NTA.

“This guidance will ensure the agency is not placing undue stress on the customer who believes he/she may or may not receive an NTA based on the information provided in their denial notification,” said the email from the agency’s Service Center Operations Directorate. A copy was provided to Secrets.

Paying taxes causes me “undue stress”. Some years, I suspect it’s far more stressful to me than their fear of deportation is to them. Do you think I can get a waiver?

I wonder if we’ll no longer be able to arrest people who commit violent crimes because the threat of imprisonment might cause them “undue stress”?

Tell me there’s a difference here. You’re lying if you do.

Salena Zito tells a poignant story. One that most of us parents can identify with.

It has been nearly a year since [Lena Carson\ walked into CAPA, a magnet school she had to earn admission to through a portfolio of her work, and interacted with her teachers or friends.

Her daily swims are gone, along with her social life. Her outside activities have diminished to walking the dog around the block.

In the beginning, like most teenagers, she thought of it as an extended snow day. When days turned to weeks, what started as an escape from school went from fun to dread. "In the beginning, I was like, I have this time off, it's going to be so fun, and now going to school is all I want," she said.

I have two daughters. We have gone through this too. My older daughter has mostly done well, but she hates being home every day. And she struggled with Honors physics last semester and was forced to drop to regular physics this semester. I believe that had she been in school this wouldn’t have happened.

[H]er straight A's have dipped to D's, and Lena says she struggles to complete assignments, not because she can't but because of the lost will. "I have nothing to look forward to," she said.

I said above my older daughter was doing well. I didn’t mention my younger daughter. Her experience mirrors this last paragraph. She’s totally unmotivated. Her grades have really suffered and it’s all my wife and I can do to get her to get her work done. It’s a daily struggle.

And it’s not lack of intelligence. It’s lack of motivation. I can tell she rarely even pays attention during her virtual classes, and yet if I force her to do the homework, she can zip right through it. Occasionally I have to explain something, but never more than once.

You think it’s my fault? Fine. I’m the parent. Blame me. But the simple fact is that she needs structure and she’s getting none. She was never the most self-motivated. We always had to push her. But she enjoyed going to school at least, if not the actual “doing school”. She got to see her friends and experience things together. Now it’s Facetime and Zoom. It’s not the same.

And even my older daughter is suffering. She’s a junior in high school. She should be going out with her friends every Friday and Saturday night. Going to football and basketball games. Going to movies and out for pizza. Sleepovers and birthday parties. Homecoming dances. She’s had a little of this, but not much. It’s not hurting her in an educational since, other than she’s really missing learning about what life is and what life has to offer.

I don’t know which of the two breaks my heart more.

Salena Zito is right. The kids aren’t alright. And they may never be. How do you recover from a lost childhood?

They can’t handle much more of this. And frankly, neither can I.

But Which Party?

Liz Cheney: Trump 'Does Not Have a Role as the Leader of Our Party Going Forward' (breitbart.com)

Well, that may be true, but since lately Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY-AL) seems to be advancing the Democrat agenda more than the Republican one, she might be referring to the Democrats.

We are the party of Abraham Lincoln. We are the party of Ronald Reagan. We have to really take a hard look at who we are and what we stand for, and what we believe in. I think when you look at both his actions leading up to what happened on January 6th, the fact that he was impeached in a bipartisan fashion, the fact that he lost the presidency, the fact that we lost the senate. We have to be in a position where we can say we stand for principle. We stand for ideals.

She stands for Chamber of Commerce Republicans and President George W. Bush’s (R-USA) neo-conservative Republicans. Neither of those represent the current direction of the party, nor do they represent the will of the American people.

Populism has replaced Wall Street and Interventionism. If you try to go against the populists, you’re going to lose. But perhaps she doesn’t mind if the Republicans lose. As I said, lately she’s been advancing the Democrat agenda more then the Republican one.

Liz Cheney is a distraction.

There are over seventy-four million Republican voters who feel that the future of the party must have Donald Trump as its centerpiece — either in person or in spirit. That is far and away the largest faction in the GOP.

The other faction is comprised of Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, and a few others who believe that the party would be more comfortable returning to its Bush-era days of being little more than a lapdog for the Democrats and their flying monkeys in the MSM. As I have stated on more than one occasion, that’s the path to permanent oblivion of Republicans.

At first, I truly thought this was satire. Particularly when she brought up an Eddie Murphy SNL skit. But no, she appears to be serious. And if so, she is quite mentally and emotionally disturbed.

The article begins thusly:

Oh, heck no. The Trumpites next door to our pandemic getaway, who seem as devoted to the ex-president as you can get without being Q fans, just plowed our driveway without being asked and did a great job.

How am I going to resist demands for unity in the face of this act of aggressive niceness?

A shoveled driveway is a demand for unity? Oh dear. I didn’t know.

This next bit is fascinating:

This is also kind of weird. Back in the city, people don’t sweep other people’s walkways for nothing.

I think you just summarized in one sentence what is wrong with living in the city. And the fact that you think it’s weird means you’ve been brainwashed. Stay living where you are right now. This is the best thing for you. There may still be hope. You might learn that out here in the real world, people do nice things for each other sometimes. For no reason whatsoever. Just to be neighborly as it were. Maybe you should watch some reruns of The Andy Griffith Show or even It’s a Wonderful Life.

My neighbor has shoveled my drive many times. I’ve done his some too. If I’m keeping score, I think he’s done mine a bit more than I’ve done his. But that’s the thing. No one is keeping score. We’re just doing it to be nice.

People do that sometimes. If you live in a world where that doesn’t happen, move. Move now. I mean it. Don’t spend another second in that horrible place, wherever it is.

Maybe it’s like what Eddie Murphy discovered in that old "Saturday Night Live" sketch “White Like Me.” He goes undercover in white makeup and finds that when white people are among their own, they pop free champagne and live the high life. As Murphy puts it: “Slowly I began to realize that when white people are alone, they give things to each other. For free.”

No, it’s nothing like that. I guarantee your neighbor didn’t care whether you are white or black. He just cared that you had a driveway in need of clearing and he had the time and ability to clear it.

There are some more paragraphs comparing her neighborhood to Nazi occupied France that I won’t bother to repeat.

Loving your neighbor is evidently much easier when your neighborhood is full of people just like you.

Again, I sincerely doubt that your neighbor cares about your race or anything. In fact, you are clearly not at all like him, and he probably knows that, and did it anyway. Think about that. Think hard.

And then you give us an idea of what you think “unity” is.

So here’s my response to my plowed driveway, for now. Politely, but not profusely, I’ll acknowledge the Sassian move. With a wave and a thanks, a minimal start on building back trust. I’m not ready to knock on the door with a covered dish yet.

Ummm…okay. Don’t hurt yourself. Sounds like gratitude and kindness are foreign concepts to you. Best to take things slow. Ease into it slowly.

I also can’t give my neighbors absolution; it’s not mine to give. Free driveway work, as nice as it is, is just not the same currency as justice and truth. To pretend it is would be to lie, and they probably aren’t looking for absolution anyway.

But I can offer a standing invitation to make amends. Not with a snowplow but by recognizing the truth about the Trump administration and, more important, by working for justice for all those whom the administration harmed. Only when we work shoulder to shoulder to repair the damage of the last four years will we even begin to dig out of this storm.

No, they aren’t looking for absolution. Nor are they looking for an “invitation to make amends”. You complained incessantly in the article about groups moving in lockstep because they felt comfortable as a group and don’t recognize the same problem within yourself. You hate these people for the mere reason that they’re outside your group. And yet, they’re showing you that they don’t hate you. And you don’t know how to handle that.

Doesn’t that tell you that your worldview is completely wrong? It should.
