The Cuban Missile Crisis.

President John F. Kennedy is shown pictures confirming Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba.

This marks the beginning of thirteen days of fear in both countries, forever known as “The Cuban Missile Crisis”.

We’re a Little Tired of Having To

Psaki: ‘We’re A Little Tired Of’ Republicans Criticizing Us For Biden’s Border Crisis | The Daily Wire

“There are a lot of Republicans out there giving speeches about how outraged they are about the situation at the border; not many who are putting forward solutions or steps that we could take,” Psaki claimed. “So, we’re a little tired of the speeches. We’d like to partner on solutions and working together to address this problem that has not been partisan in the past.”

Yeah, the problem is that while things were nowhere near perfect before, they were demonstrably better than they are now. And these “Republicans giving speeches” are basically saying, “hey, let’s do what was working a year ago”, and you’re saying no.

Seems like the partisan stubbornness is on your side, Jen.

HATE CRIME HOAX: Black University Employee Arrested For Allegedly Painting Racist Graffiti on School Building | The Daily Wire

In August, someone painted several racist and offensive slurs on a building at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. At the time, local news outlet WSB-TV reported that the “Emory Autism Center has become the target of several crimes, including burglary and vandalism, including graffiti of racial slurs and swastikas.”

A police report for the incident also mentioned that vending machines in the building were vandalized, along with a glass door that had been shattered. A large rock was found several feet away.

“The area where racial slurs were reportedly written along the walls are near the workspace occupied by two African-American women and a swastika was in a hallway near a Jewish man’s office,” WSB-TV reported.

In a statement, Emory University spokesperson Laura Diamond told the outlet: “These acts of racism and antisemitism are painful for all of us at the EAC and in the Emory community. They will not be tolerated, and every effort will be made to bring the perpetrators to justice.”

A week later, the perpetrator was charged with burglary second degree by Georgia law enforcement and named as Roy Lee Gordon, Jr

Well, the racist stuff is awful, but glad they caught the guy.

The College Fix reported on August 25 that the school was refusing to reveal Gordon’s race and that he wasn’t charged with a hate crime even though such slurs would typically lead to such a charge.

Huh. That’s odd. I wonder why.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution finally obtained an arrest photo of Gordon, showing he is black. The College Fix noted that the school knew this but refused to say so for more than a month.

Wait. He’s black?

So, the so-called “hate crime” wasn’t a hate crim at all. It was just a hoax. Why didn’t Emory announce that fact. Seems like that would have been the responsible thing to do. Might calm racial tensions on campus a bit.

But it wouldn’t fit the narrative.

There is no truth. Just the narrative.

George Orwell would be so proud.

This Is Coming to America Soon

Police in Australia turn up on doorsteps to quiz citizens over social media posts (reclaimthenet.org)

In footage that has to be seen to be believed, citizens in Australia are sharing with the world the moment police turn up at their door, warning them over their social media posts.

Police appear to be scanning social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter and looking for users who they think may support protests.

“We’re here to have a chat to you because we have instructions that you’ve been posting some things on social media,” the plainclothes police officer said in a viral TikTok video.

The Thought Police are coming for you, soon.

TikTok Censors Verified Truth

TikTok deletes video of student documenting myocarditis following COVID-19 vaccine (reclaimthenet.org)

This is a known side affect. It affects an almost insignificant number of people. But it does happen. Clearly. And people should be allowed to tell their stories.

TikTok removed a video posted by a 21-year-old student athlete who, from a hospital bed, documented an adverse reaction after getting the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The platform did not explain exactly what guidelines the video violated and denied his appeal for the video to be reinstated.

The truth doesn’t matter to the Left. Only “their truth” matters.

Gee, I Wish Someone Had Thought of That Before

Fox News Anchor Chris Wallace On Biden’s Border Crisis: It’s Time To ‘Build A Wall’ | The Daily Wire

“I mean, to me, that is the real shame here, is our immigration policy and that it allows people to come over, it doesn’t just stop them,” Wallace continued. “And that’s what I think the real focus ought to be on. Yes, the horse story, the Border Patrol, CBP on horseback has become a story. I happen to think it’s bad. Forget the whipping for a second — and I understand that’s one of the allegations, and there doesn’t seem to be true. And the president shouldn’t have talked about strapping as he did, because that’s another word for whipping. I don’t think that the Border Patrol, they ought to be able to find a way to keep people from coming across the border. Build a fence.”

Huh. What an original idea. Build a wall. How come no one ever thought of that before?

Oh, that’s right. Someone did. Conservatives have been asking for that for 20 years. The previous administration actually started building one. Maybe if we’d kept that President for another 4 years, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

And They Say They Aren’t Controlled by the Abortion Lobby

This is just sick.

House Democrats Vote 218-1 for Unfettered Abortion – PJ Media

How can they look themselves in the mirror?

By a 218-211 vote, the House passed a bill Friday permitting and “codifying” the right to abort unborn children on demand for all nine months of a pregnancy.

Every Democrat except for Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) — who was quickly vilified by the hard left — voted for the bill, and every Republican opposed it, cementing the battle over abortion.

So much of what the Democrats do these days makes me physically ill. My stomach tightens when I read stuff like this, and I feel like I’m going to vomit. What has happened to people that we feel like something like this is not only tolerable, but desirable??

And They Say the Government Doesn’t Want to Control Everything in Your Lives

Oregon health officials say you can kiss on dates -- if both vaccinated | Fox News

Well, that’s nice of them. I was afraid only virtual dating would be permitted.

The government will keep claiming more power until it is forced to stop.

Here are their recommendation.

Dating during COVID-19, OHA graphic with an illustration of a young couple. Get vaccinated. Zoom dates not cutting it? Consider outdoor activities. Meeting in person? If your date has potential COVID-19 symptoms, postpone for 10 days. In a crowd outdoors or inside a public space? Please wear a mask and physically distance. If you're both vaccinated and taking COVID-19 precautions, intimacy is likely to be safe.

I Totally Get Why They Do This

Campus Reform | SURVEY: 80% of students are 'self-censoring their viewpoints', many feel uncomfortable speaking up in class

I admit it. I self-censor in public. Perhaps I’m a coward for doing so, but there’s so little tolerance these days for differing opinions. It’s why this blog is semi-anonymous (I don’t post my name anywhere on it, but a determined person could easily figure it out).

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), alongside RealClearEducation and College Pulse, conducted a survey of 37,000 college students enrolled at 159 universities. Among other questions — which were ultimately used to weigh American universities according to their commitments to free speech — the groups tracked students’ willingness to express their ideas.

More than 80% of students “report self-censoring their viewpoints at their colleges at least some of the time, with 21% saying they censor themselves often.”

To that end, only 12% of students report feeling “very comfortable” with “publicly disagreeing with a professor about a controversial topic.”

When asked to identify such uncomfortable topics, 45% of surveyed students identified “abortion.” 43% chose “race,” 41% chose “gun control,” and 40% chose “transgender issues.”

What bothers me the most is that the least tolerant among us seem to be the only ones who don’t feel a need to self-censor. We’re letting them speak for all of us. We need to get over that.

I’ll work on it myself.

It’s Okay to Buy Ice Cream From Anti-Semites, but We Can’t Get Chicken From Someone Who Believes in Traditional Marriage

Chick-Fil-a Axed From Kansas City Airport Plans After LGBTQ Opposition (businessinsider.com)

Funny, I don’t recall any attempts to shut down Ben & Jerry’s anywhere. Surely, anti-Semitism is worse, right? Remember, Chick-Fil-A does not practice any discriminatory practices. The owner has expressed a belief in traditional marriage, but there have never been any complaints that he uses his personal beliefs on the subject to direct the operation of his business.

The same can not be said for Ben & Jerry.

“Nobody Wants Your Racist Nonsense in Del Rio”

If only more people would say this sort of thing to the Reverend Al Sharpton.

VIDEO: Texans Shout Down Al Sharpton's Border Speech, 'We Don't Want Your Racism In Texas, Get Outta Here' - National File

“Kids are being sedated at the U.S. border, why are you not being a voice for the children, why are you stoking racism where it doesn’t exist?” protesters asked a visibly uncomfortable Sharpton, who repeatedly turned his head and craned his neck to look behind himself as the jeering continued.

“Why are you coming and trying to provoke violence? Why are you here advocating for violence? Why are you here advocating for violence? Del Rio is not a racist city, Del Rio is a loving, caring community,” one onlooker shouted. “We don’t want your racism in Texas, get outta here. Nobody wants your racist nonsense in Del Rio. You’re a racist, nobody wants you in Texas! Why are you not a voice for the children?”

Good questions. I suspect the answer is because the answers don’t fit the narrative he’s trying to push. Sharpton has always been a race-baiting huckster. It’s a sad commentary on society that he has achieved so much fame and power. He belongs on the dung heap of history.

COVID CULT: UC Berkeley Student Reports Being Shamed and Reprimanded After Removing Mask for Three Seconds to Drink Water in Class - Big League Politics

What kind of society are we building? Not a functional one, certainly. And not one that I want to be part of, either.

The female student explained that she was shamed and reprimanded for removing her mask for three seconds and getting a sip of water during a lecture.

“On the first day of class of about 150 people, I briefly pulled my mask down to drink some water. The class was promptly stopped by the professor to tell me and the rest of the class that it is campus policy as well as the professor’s policy that masks are to be worn over the nose and mouth at all times in lectures even to take a sip of water,” she explained to Tracey.

For merely quenching her thirst, she was ostracized by the psychopaths who have lost their critical reasoning to fear propaganda.

Liberals Can’t Tell Whips From Reins and the Border Patrol Suffers for It

So, I’m sure you’ve heard of the pictures of the Border Patrol “whipping” Haitians.

If this were true, it’d be disgusting.

Of course it’s not true. The Border Patrol Agents don’t have any whips. They’re riding horses. The pictures are of the horses reins.

Yes, liberals are that stupid.

But don’t take Julio’s word for it. Let’s go to the photographer that took the pictures!

The photographer who took pictures of Border Patrol agents on horseback attempting to prevent Haitians from illegally crossing into the United States is speaking out after Democrats and the mainstream media falsely accused the agents of using whips on the Haitians by using his photos.

Speaking with KTSM, Paul Ratje said he and his colleagues never saw agents whipping anyone.

"I’ve never seen them whip anyone. He was swinging it, but it can be misconstrued when you’re looking at the picture," Ratje said.

Because So Far, They’re Only Attacking a Certain Kind of Journalist

Why isn't the media more upset about Antifa's attacks on journalists? – HotAir

Often Antifa’s violence seems to be covered without condemnation by journalists, some of whom (Chris Cuomo comes to mind) have actively defended the group in the past while pretending that violence and destruction just sometimes happen and aren’t the group’s foundational principles.

The media tends to be less willing to condemn Antifa’s violence against journalists if the journalists themselves aren’t left wing. So when Andy Ngo gets beaten and put in the hospital CNN is suddenly not sure who is responsible despite video of black bloc people punching him. And later, when there is graffiti in Portland calling for Ngo’s murder, the major media doesn’t mention it at all. Any time a crowd of Trump fans jeered at CNN it was considered newsworthy but if a group of violent anarchists who previously put a right-leaning reporter in the hospital now say they want him dead, it’s crickets.

Liberals are disgusting people.

This is what liberals mean by “tolerance” and “understanding”. Oh, and of course, “anti-fascism”.

The Problem Is That Facebook and I Don’t Agree on Which News Sources Are ”Untrusted”

Facebook Releases ‘Content Distribution Guidelines,’ Will Target ‘Untrusted’ News | The Daily Wire

The second category, “Incentivizing Publishers to Invest in High-Quality Content,” claims to encourage publishers to produce “interesting, new material.” This category includes efforts to demote “domains with limited original content,” articles “debunked” as “False, Altered or Partly False” by “non-partisan, third party fact-checking organizations,” and posts from “untrusted” news publishers or publishers without “transparent authorship.

Perhaps the most controversial item in this category involves the demotion of “Links to Domains and Pages with High ‘Click-Gap,’” in which posts to websites that receive a “particularly disproportionate amount of their traffic directly from Facebook compared to the amount of traffic the websites receive from the rest of the Internet” are demoted.

Well, that’s great. It’s nice that Facebook now has published rules for shutting down dissenting voices.

New York BLM Leader Promises National ‘Uprising’ Over ‘Racist’ Vaccine Mandates | The Daily Wire

Black Americans are unvaccinated at a much higher percentage than any other group. And it’s by choice.

Vaccination mandates disproportionally hurt Black Americans more than any other group.

If President Joe Biden (D-USA) had an “R” after his name, this story would be frontpage news, showing how once again Republicans are sticking it to minorities.

Since he has a “D”, though, this will be swept under the rug.

“Seventy-two percent of black people in this city from ages 18 to 44 are unvaccinated,” Newsome said during the protest at Carmine’s, according to The Washington Examiner. “So what is going to stop the Gestapo, I mean the NYPD, from rounding up black people, from snatching them off the train, off the bus?”

“We’re putting this city on notice that your mandate will not be another racist social distance practice. Black people are not going to stand by, or you will see another uprising. And that is not a threat. That is a promise,” she continued. “The vaccination passport is not a free passport to racism.”

Oops.

My Stomach Turns at the Disrespect the Left Shows Our Brave Military

Biden administration ‘strongly opposes’ honorable discharge for service members who refuse COVID-19 vaccine | Washington Examiner

That is twisted and appalling.

Tennessee Republican Rep. Mark Green, a veteran, has led the push to prevent the military from discharging service members who refuse the vaccine with any distinction other than honorable via the National Defense Authorization Act.

"I am disgusted that the Biden administration is trying to gut my amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that prevents anything but an honorable discharge for servicemembers who refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine," Green told the Washington Examiner in a statement.

"Every Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee agreed to my amendment. It is tragic and horrifying that the Biden administration can’t respect the rights of our military that every House Democrat on the Committee voted for," he said.

So, we demand they get vaccinated. They refuse. Then we give them a dishonorable discharge?? How petty and spiteful can you be? Really?

I hate this President. I truly hate him.

And I don’t know if I’ll ever forgive those of you who voted for him.

Glenn Greenwald: 'There are no editorial standards as long as you feed liberals what they want' – HotAir

This is about the Hunter Biden laptop story. Ready the whole thing and watch the video. But here’s the point I want to make.

Greenwald starts by pointing out that the basic emails on which the Hunter Biden laptop story were based were confirmed as being accurate by several sources within days of being published. This wasn’t a case where the basic facts were in doubt. Nevertheless, a group of former intelligence officials wrote a letter (first highlighted by Natasha Bertrand at Politico) claiming the whole story sounded a bit like Russian disinformation. The media ran with it even though the the letter in question admitted there was no proof whatsoever to back up the claims.

They knew it was true. But they shut down the story. NPR wouldn’t talk about it. CNN wouldn’t talk about it. Facebook and Twitter censored posts about it. And instead they posted a piece based upon no facts whatsoever and tried to push it as the real truth.

They knew it was true. They f**king lied to you. To protect their candidate.

Facebook Fact Checkers Just Censored Peer Reviewed Science – Watts Up With That?

[Journalist Alex Newman] interviewed us, representatives for the IPCC, and several other scientists for
an article in The Epoch Times.

People began sharing Newman’s article on social media. One of Facebook’s “independent fact-checkers,” Climate Feedback, quickly stepped in. This “fact-checker” website, financially supported by Facebook, TikTok, Google News Initiative, and others, declared the article to be “incorrect” and “misleading.” Facebook then began censoring any posts sharing the link.

Alex’s crime? He discovered two peer reviewed articles posted almost simultaneously, on global warming. They had very different conclusions. He interviewed people behind both papers and posted an article based on his findings.

Abbott Blasts Biden Over Border Crisis: ‘It’s Total Chaos,’ ‘They Need To Up Their Game, Big Time’ | The Daily Wire

Abbot hit Biden for abandoning strict border enforcement in favor of more lax policies such as “catch-and-release.”

Survey: 23% of college students support violence to stop a speaker they disagree with – TheBlaze

Compared to past surveys, this year more students expressed support for silencing speakers they don't agree with, even by violent means. The survey found that 66% of students supported shouting down a campus speaker they don't agree with, an increase of 4 percentage points from FIRE's 2020 survey. Additionally, 23% supported using violence to stop a speaker, an increase of 5 percentage points from last year.

The two colleges that expressed the strongest support for violence to silence a speaker were elite women's colleges, Wellesley College and Barnard College.

Wellesley used to be famous for its liberal attitudes. Censoring free speech may be “progressive”, but it is anything but “liberal”. People should be ashamed of this poll and for creating the kind of environment where people have such attitudes.

For the first time in U.S. history, the White House is interfering with the private medical decisions of more than 100 million Americans, in many cases forcing vaccination against their will. Federal workers who refuse to get vaccinated will first receive counseling and ultimately face termination if they continue to object. Private companies that don’t bow to the Biden machine, meanwhile, could be fined nearly $14,000 per violation.

Karl Rove on the passing of his nearly three year old cocker spaniel.

For 18 months this loving, joyous spirit was a big part of our family. On vacation the Saturday before last, we slept in, Little Bit wedged right up against me for warmth. We went for her morning business, then she ran cheerfully through the hotel to report to Karen and snuggle more, rising after a while for breakfast. A few minutes later, she went into convulsions. She recovered somewhat on the frantic ride to the vet’s but was gone within the hour.

I’m no theologian, but believe God grants us pets to encourage us to give and receive unconditional love—to see loyalty personified and to remind us that we must balance joy and delight with loss and grief in this transitory life.

Pets are hugely important. Our family just adopted the mother of our five year old German Shepherd. The mother is nine. People ask why we would want such an old dog. This dog has been a breeder her whole life. She’s not gotten to experience what it means to be a dog. And while I’m sure her humans loved her, they had a lot of dogs to deal with and puppies coming in and out. We wanted to give her a home for her last few years where she could have fun and know that she’s loved.

We’ve only had Kendra a few months, but she has become a part of us, and clearly loves being here. She’s happy. And she makes us happy.

France's Notre Dame Cathedral Secured Enough for Rebuild | Newsmax.com

France’s Notre Dame Cathedral is finally stable and secure enough for artisans to start rebuilding it, more than two years after the shocking fire that tore through its roof, knocked down its spire and threatened to bring the rest of the medieval monument down, too.

The government agency overseeing the reconstruction announced in a statement Saturday that the works to secure the structure — which began the day after the April 15, 2019 fire — are at last complete.

Carpenters, scaffolding experts, professional climbers, organ mechanics and others took part in the effort, which included special temporary structures to secure the iconic towers, vaults and walls of the huge roofless structure, and a special “umbrella” to protect it from the weather.

Maher on Met Gala: Making Just the Servers Wear Masks Is 'Not Liberal' - Do Germs 'Know Who the Good People Are?' (breitbart.com)

Hard to argue with this:

But the servers wear masks. … I mean, that just — there’s something about this that’s not liberal to me. White House Correspondents’ Association President Steven Portnoy said in a statement that he filed a formal complaint over the incident to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

“The entire editorial component of the U.S. pool went immediately into Jen Psaki’s office to register a formal complaint that no American reporters were recognized for questions in the president’s Oval Office, and that wranglers loudly shouted over the president as he seemed to give an answer to Ed O’Keefe’s question about the situation at the Southern Border,” the statement said. “Biden’s answer could not be heard over the shouting.”

The job of the White House is to protect President Joe Biden (D-USA). They have to do whatever is necessary from making it apparent to the world that he’s mentally incompetent.

They don’t realize that it’s too late.

We all know already.

Most of us knew last year.

People That Think That Last Year’s Riots Were No Big Deal, but the January 6 Protest Were an ”Insurrection” Are Completely Disconnected From Reality

No surprise that Traitor Milley is one of them.

Milley told Trump the George Floyd protests were no big deal (nypost.com)

The under-fire general — accused of going behind President Donald Trump’s back to contact his Chinese counterpart — wildly downplayed the riots when Trump raised fears they were “burning America down,” according to Fox News excerpts from the new book, “Peril.”

“Mr. President, they are not burning it down,” he told the alarmed commander-in-chief, according to authors Bob Woodward and Robert Costa.

“They used spray paint, Mr. President, that’s not an insurrection,” he told Trump.

Compare and contrast:

But when the Jan. 6 Capitol riot happened, Milley believed it “was indeed a coup attempt and nothing less than ‘treason,'” the book said.

He feared that Trump might be looking for a “Reichstag moment” and believed the attack “so unimagined and savage, [it] could be a dress rehearsal for something larger,” the authors wrote.

How can anyone possibly have these two completely incompatible beliefs?

Anyone that does, should seek professional help.

Quickly.

'Clinton indictment' blows Russia collusion conspiracy wide open, top GOP investigator says | Washington Examiner

The cybersecurity lawyer indicted this week by a grand jury in special counsel John Durham's investigation could end up being the "fall guy" for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign, warned a top House Republican.

Rep. Devin Nunes , the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, told Newsmax on Thursday there is evidence of a broad Russia collusion conspiracy — allegations the congressman's team investigated and referred to the Justice Department . But Nunes cautioned that the Clintons "have a long history of their lawyers and agents disappearing."

He’s a small fish. Will he lead to bigger fish? I hope so, but I doubt it. I suppose that I should be encouraged that Durham is still investigating. i imagine he’ll be forced to stop before he gets close to any big fish.

And the greatest political scandal in the history of America will be swept under the rug.

Sears is shutting its last store in Illinois, its home state (cnbc.com)

The last Sears department store located in the retailer’s home state of Illinois is getting ready to close its doors for good.

The shop, located in Simon Property Group’s Woodfield Mall, is scheduled to shutter on Nov. 14, the company confirmed to CNBC.

A spokesman for the department store chain’s parent company, Transformco, said it will look for ways to revive the space with another tenant because it also manages the real estate.

Sears was part of America when I grew up. There was a Sears in every mall. Everybody got the Sears Catalog. Every kid eagerly thumbed through the Christmas Wish Book when it arrived. They used to host a Christmas sale just for kids to buy gifts for their loved ones. Parents weren’t allowed in the store for a couple hours, and the salespeople were incredibly helpful.

And now. All but gone. Completely gone in their home state.

The Sears Tower. What’s that? Who cares anymore?

Oh that’s right. It’s the Willis Tower now.

I know it’s silly to get sad over a middle class department store, but as I said at the top, there were few things more American than Sears & Roebuck.

I miss you, Sears, even if no one else does.

Woke English Opera Fires 14 White Musicians for Having Wrong Skin Color – PJ Media

Fourteen musicians with the English Touring Opera (ETO), some of whom have been performing with the company for 20 years, have been fired because of the color of their skin.

Claiming they are following diversity guidance from Arts Council England, ETO has informed the white musicians that they will not be offered contracts for the 2022 season. Though the positions are technically freelance jobs, many of the musicians consider the work a permanent gig.

I wish they had been judged by the quality of their musicianship and not the color of their skin.

Terry McAuliffe Doesn’t Know How to Tell the Truth

In politics, always play to your strengths. His strength is lying. So, go for it.

Terry McAuliffe Employs Debunked Attacks Against GOP Opponent (freebeacon.com)

The Washington Post, whose editorial board has endorsed McAuliffe, in June admonished the Democrat for his false claim that he "inherited the largest budget deficit in the history of the state from the Republicans." PolitiFact, a fact-checking website that receives funds from liberal sources, also dinged McAuliffe in both 2015 and 2019 for the bogus assertion. Still, the Democrat in September said he "inherited a $2.4 billion deficit from the Republicans" and told a local reporter who pushed back on the claim to "do your research."

The Post on Tuesday also criticized McAuliffe for his false claim that Youngkin "wants to ban abortion," noting that the Republican supports abortion legislation that is "more restrictive than current Virginia law" but has not backed an outright ban. McAuliffe hours later told members of powerful abortion group NARAL that Youngkin "is extreme and he will ban abortions." The Democrat has also pushed forward with Facebook ads that call Youngkin "a right-wing culture warrior who wants to ban abortion in the Commonwealth."

The Virginia GOP has responded to McAuliffe's "repeated lies" by labeling the Democrat "Two-Faced Terry," a moniker that could stick if McAuliffe repeats the debunked attacks during the campaign's first general election debate, which will take place Thursday night.

You know you’ve crossed a line when you’re a Democrat getting called out for lying by The Washington Post.

I Thought Gerrymandering for Political Advantage Was Wrong?

I guess that’s just when the other side does it.

Dems look to cut half of NY's GOP House with gerrymandering (nypost.com)

New York State Republican Committee Chairman Nick Langworthy immediately vowed to challenge the redistricting plan, saying that Democrats “are going to stonewall and drag this process out hoping New Yorkers aren’t paying attention so partisan legislators can draw their own maps.”

“Like everything else under Democrat control in New York, this process is a political sham built on a foundation of lies and hypocrisy,” he said in a prepared statement.

Meh. It is what it is. Gerrymandering has been with us forever. Until you start laying out districts in little squares based totally on population counts, this is going to happen. And the party that it’s done to isn’t going to like it.

Life’s tough all over.

‘Consume and cover,’ ‘quick sip rule’: Harvard wants students to eat, drink with mask on | The College Fix

Harvard University is asking its students to eat and drink with their mask on.

The request was part of a lengthy memo sent to the campus community Sept. 10 from Giang Nguyen, executive director of Harvard University Health Services.

“Eating and drinking together are a cornerstone of human social interaction, but there are ways to interact that minimize the time spent unmasked and in close proximity,” Nguyen wrote.

We have gotten so scared of a virus that we’re ruining our lives. We need more people willing to stand up and say “Enough!”

Maybe I’ve failed to do that. I’m vaccinated. I haven’t spoken out about my company’s vaccination mandate.

But we have to start living our lives as if they meant something. We can’t cower in fear. What next? We hide under the bed during thunderstorms?

We’re willingly becoming obedient slaves. Afraid to speak out. Afraid to stand up. Just going on and accepting whatever new rules come down, no matter the cost to our dignity, our self-worth, our very souls.

The Other Half Believes That Also. They Just Are Happy That’s True.

Half of America Says Jan 6 Protesters are 'Persecuted, Political Prisoners'. (thenationalpulse.com)

Peaceful protesters caught in the maelstrom of the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol are being held as “political prisoners” and are being persecuted by law enforcement, says a plurality of American voters.

The data, from a new Rasmussen poll, reveals that 49 percent of American “likely voters” either strongly or somewhat agree with the concept that the U.S. government is holding political prisoners. Forty-two percent are in disagreement, with nine percent “unsure”.

This means more people than not believe the January 6th protesters are being unjustly held by their government.

Let that sink in. A plurality of Americans thinks that the Federal Government is making political prisoners out of American citizens.

Think about that a moment longer.

For four years we heard about the Trump administrations abuse of norms. We heard they were autocratic and fascist.

Not once did the Trump administration even suggest that something like this might be a good idea.

This is what fascism looks like.

And you voted for it.

Norquist: Democrats' planned business taxes higher than communist China's | Just The News

Under the Democrats' plan, the corporate tax rate would rise to 26.5% from 21%, and the top capital gains tax rate would jump to 28.8% from 23.8%.

Norquist said the new hikes in corporate and capital gains tax rates, among others, will impact average American workers, whether directly or indirectly.

"They're going to take the corporate rate — the tax that American companies pay — up higher than communist China's business tax, higher than the European average," he said. "Okay, so we will not be competitive with China when people are looking to invest, not competitive with Europe when people are looking to invest, start new firms.

26.5% isn’t the end of the world. It was 35% before Trump slashed it to 21%. At least they’re keeping it substantially below the 35%. But we should be lowering it more, particularly in a weakening economy.

I often wonder if politicians in general, and Democrats in particular, have even a basic understanding of math.

If you want businesses to flock to your shores, you have to make it attractive to them to do so. The easiest and best way to do that is to lower the corporate tax rate. If you want businesses to grow more, expand the economy, increase wages, and hire more people, you have to remove the economic burdens that prevent them from doing so. The easiest way to do that is to lower corporate taxes.

How is this not obvious to everyone?

Politico Finally Acknowledges That Major Portions Of Hunter Biden Story Have Been Verified, Something Conservative Outlets Reported Long Ago | The Daily Wire

We knew it a year ago, in fact. When you weren’t allowed to talk about it on Facebook or Twitter.

Politico has finally acknowledged that major aspects of the Hunter Biden story suppressed by social media outlets ahead of the 2020 election were, in fact, true. The admission comes nearly a month after conservative media outlets reported the same thing, yet the Politico acknowledgment will be seen by other left-leaning media outlets as the necessary verification.

Calling it “First in Playbook,” Politico plugged Ben Schreckinger’s newly released book, “The Bidens: Inside the First Family’s Fifty-Year Rise to Power,” which included evidence verifying reporting from the New York Post and other right-leaning outlets. Politico noted that Schreckinger’s book “finds evidence that some of the purported HUNTER BIDEN laptop material is genuine, including two emails at the center of last October’s controversy” (emphasis original).

But major media and Tech actively worked to suppress this story last fall.  Remember NPR?

I remember. I remember being appalled.

Good Question

A question | Power Line (powerlineblog.com)

I was struck by a statement by CBS’s Margaret Brennan, the moderator of Face the Nation. According to this tweet by Nicholas Fondacaro, Brennan said “the strong show of security” by police and the feds “kept the crowds away.”

[…]

But here’s my question: What do you call a state in which a strong show of security keeps people away from a lawful protest against perceived injustice (the phenomenon Brennan appears to applaud)?

The answer is, a police state.

Yes. That is the correct answer.

And that’s where we are. This is Biden’s America.

I Keep Hearing the Democrats Are in Trouble in 2022, but Then I See Things Like This

As Midterms Approach, Democrats Break Fundraising Records (lifezette.com)

Bloomberg reported on Monday that in August, the Democratic National Committee raised $9.9 million which put their total fundraising for 2021 to $110 million.

According to someone familiar with DNC fundraising, both numbers represent record amounts.

We used to be told that for GOP candidates to win, they had to exceed the margin of fraud. After last year, I’m not convinced that is possible. And then I see that the Democrats are making record hauls.

I think those expecting a Red Tidal Wave next November are likely to be disappointed.

"Unethical"? How About "Evil"?

Doctors, Ethicists Blast Colleagues Who Threaten To Withhold Treatment From Unvaxxed (freebeacon.com)

They should be blasted. Shamed. Ridiculed. And forced to work pro bono.

A growing number of doctors have threatened to withhold treatment from the unvaccinated, sparking backlash from doctors and bioethicists who say such sentiments violate the Hippocratic Oath. Those critics are even more troubled by the silence from professional organizations tasked with upholding medical ethics.

Doctors in Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama have announced they will refuse to treat unvaccinated patients, while Dallas hospital workers reportedly discussed considering vaccinated status when delegating ICU beds. Such comments have infuriated top medical professionals. Dr. Brian Callister, governor of the Nevada chapter of the American College for Physicians, said doctors should never blatantly refuse to treat unvaccinated patients who are otherwise willing to comply with the rules set out by the practice.

"It is absolutely unethical, period, end of story, to not treat a patient in need," Callister told the Washington Free Beacon. "It is absurd and amoral for any physician to say they will not treat unvaccinated patients."

Amoral. That’s a good word too. I still like “evil”.

Man Gunned Down by Antifa Assassin During 'Summer of Love' Sues Portland for Millions – PJ Media

The estate of the man gunned down by a “100% Antifa!” assassin is suing the city of Portland, Oregon, for its abject failure to keep violent antifa rioters in line.

Aaron “Jay” Danielson was killed by a gunman, who was lying in wait, after a car rally for President Trump in downtown Portland in September of 2020–the “summer of love.” Danielson wore a “Patriot Prayer” hat. Patriot Prayer is a right-leaning group of Trump supporters whose rallies often met with violence by violent left-wing attackers.

They let this happen. The leaders of the government in Portland should be tried as accomplices.

They turned a blind eye to violence for weeks, and far too many innocent people paid the price.

This is liberal tolerance.

I Don't Think This Is an Example of "Equal Rights"

Huh, Who Could Have Seen That Coming?

Oh, that’s right, everyone with a brain. Which leaves out Democrats.

‘Broken’: Portland Residents Facing ‘Dramatic Increase’ In Wait Times For 911 Calls Following Efforts To Defund Police | The Daily Wire

The 911 emergency call system in Portland, Oregon, is “broken,” officials say, and callers who need help are often waiting more than two minutes for assistance, even though emergency calls are supposed to be answered in around 15 seconds.

“People calling 911 to report a Sept. 4 shootout at a Pearl District restaurant and other emergencies in the following half-hour waited an average of more than 7.5 minutes before a dispatcher answered,” the Oregonian reported. “The lengthy hold time is far above the national standard of 15 to 20 seconds for 911 calls and the latest example of serious problems plaguing the city’s emergency dispatch system.”

When you make moves that increase crime at the same time you’re cutting police budgets, you get..well, longer wait times for 911 calls aren’t the worst thing you get.

Can we just #DefundTheDemocrats instead? Would be a whole lot safer for us all.

I Think This Goes Without Saying

If vax passports are OK, then so is requiring voter ID (nypost.com)

Well, duh. How could you possibly argue otherwise with a straight face?

Amusingly enough, liberals, the people most likely to support vaccine passports, have long made contradictory arguments. For years, we have heard Democrats insist that asking voters to present identification is a fundamental violation of civil rights, tantamount to Jim Crow.

That is truth.

Most of the rest of the article is about how evil vaccine mandates are. I don’t know that I disagree. However, I also know that there’s been at least 10,000 articles written about this, and I doubt that one single person’s mind has been changed. One more article isn’t suddenly going to change thigns.

Pretty Sure This Didn't Make the 6 O'clock News

Introducing RealClearInvestigations' Jan. 6-BLM Riots Dataset | RealClearInvestigations

RealClearInvestigations has found that:

  • The summer 2020 riots resulted in some 15 times more injured police officers, 30 times as many arrests, and estimated damages in dollar terms up to 1,300 times more costly than those of the Capitol riot. George Floyd rioters were found to have used more sophisticated and dangerous tactics than did the Capitol rioters, and in some cases weapons of greater lethality.
  • Authorities have pursued the largely Trump-supporting Capitol rioters with substantially more vigor than suspected wrongdoers in the earlier two cases. Many accused Capitol rioters, unlike accused participants in the other riots, have been held in pretrial detention for months – with one defendant serving more time than the maximum sentence for the charge to which he pleaded guilty. Some allegedly endured solitary confinement and other mistreatment.
  • With authorities applying lenient prosecutorial standards in many major cities torn by the summer riots, the vast majority of charges last year were dismissed, as were charges in the Inauguration 2017 unrest. Charges have to date been dropped in only a single Capitol riot case.

Huh. Imagine that.

So, Biden was right. The Capitol Protesters were treated much differently than those at the BLM Riots.

China threatens to send warships inside US territorial waters | Washington Examiner

The language Beijing has employed, here, of conducting "freedom of navigation" activities off "U.S. military bases in the Asia-Pacific and the U.S. allies' coastlines" is clearly intended as a threat to send PLA warships within 12 miles of Guam, Australia, and Japan.

Well, that’s comforting. We have another Cuban Missile Crisis coming. I bet this time, it’s not the Communists that blink, though.

No, I Know From Trustworthy Sources That This Was a Crazy Theory Cooked up by Trump

Only 18 Months Late: 'The Lancet' Finally Publishes a Letter in Support of the Lab-Leak Theory – PJ Media

In February 2020, the journal published a letter dismissing the lab-leak theory. It stated: “We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin.” The authors really wanted us to believe the bat soup theory. Thanks to Dr. Fauci’s emails, we now know that Dr. Peter Daszak, who funded gain-of-function research in the Wuhan lab, coordinated the 2020 letter.

The Lancet has now published a letter from another group of scientists that calls for a reexamination of the assertions in the Daszak group’s letter. “An appeal for an objective, open, and transparent scientific debate about the origin of SARS-CoV-2” has 16 signatories, who assert that the February 2020 letter had “a silencing effect on the wider scientific debate, including among science journalists.”

The silencing effect on the wider scientific debate was intentional and not just limited to the Wuhan Virus.

With luck, this is an indication that The Lancet has finally decided to once more try out the scientific method instead of just rushing to publish conclusions without evidentiary basis.

It Isn't About "Disinformation"–It’s About "Information That Contradicts the Narrative"

The “disinformation” label is important to Twitter. It prevents people from re-Tweeting a Tweet. They’re all too quick to apply that label to certain Tweets by certain people.

But Rachel Maddow is one of the “good people”, and her Tweets always agree with the narrative, so she never has to worry about getting stuck with that label.

You Can't Argue Against the Narrative, Especially When It's Wrong

The juvenile ‘It’s horse paste!’ critique of ivermectin | Washington Examiner

he Nobel Prize in medicine in 2015 went to two scientists whose experiments on a type of bacteria and subsequent modifications produced a compound that led to “a new class of drugs with extraordinary efficacy against parasitic diseases,” in the words of the Nobel Prize committee.

That compound is ivermectin, which “turned out to be highly effective in both animals and humans against a variety of parasites, including those that cause River Blindness and Lymphatic Filariasis.” The FDA approved the drug in 1996.

That’s why U.S. doctors wrote more than 100,000 prescriptions a year for ivermectin, which comes in tablets but also in a lotion. In 2020, the FDA approved one ivermectin lotion as an over-the-counter lice treatment.

But the narrative only allows for certain people to define what we’re allowed (required) to do about COVID. And these people are never wrong. Even when they change their minds.

Ivermectin has shown promise as an effective treatment. Is it perfect? No. Does NyQuil work for everyone for colds & flu, and does it make their symptoms totally go away? No. It’s a treatment. That means it helps with the symptoms.

They want you stupid. You’re easier to control that way.

Because "Right to Work" Always Leads to More Economic Growth and More Opportunities for Job Seekers?

Right to Work economies are recovering faster from COVID, here's why | Fox Business

The 27 Right to Work states that don’t allow forced union dues have far better job growth. In the decade since 2010, the total number of people employed in Right to Work states grew at more than quadruple the rate of forced unionism states, according to an analysis from the National Institute for Labor Relations Research (NILRR).

That’s no surprise. After all, people want to work in states where they can’t be forced to join a union they don’t like, and businesses want to relocate in states where their employees won’t be bullied by union bosses to pay up or be fired.

So, yes, in other words.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Senate panel to probe Supreme Court 'shadow docket' in Texas abortion case - UPI.com

The Democrats are mad because SCOTUS isn’t doing what they want anymore.

And when Democrats lose, it’s always because of foul play.

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin announced Friday that the chamber's judiciary committee will hold a hearing to review the Supreme Court's decision to allow Texas' restrictive abortion ban to stand.

Durbin, who is chairman of the committee, accused the high court of abusing its so-called "shadow docket," a term used to describe expedited decisions made outside the regular docket and without oral arguments.

The Supreme Court voted 5-4 late Wednesday against an emergency application for relief filed by abortion providers in Texas who sought to halt Texas' new law.

When You Cover up Things by Hiding Nothing and Telling the Complete Truth

The Left is pushing a false ‘COVID deaths cover-up’ smear against Ron DeSantis | Washington Examiner

buried many paragraphs down in the story are a few key facts. First, the supposed “cover-up” simply involves changing from recording deaths as they are reported to recording deaths under the date they specifically occurred. Whether one form of reporting is better than the other is something for experts to squabble over. But neither constitutes a “cover-up,” and neither is inaccurate. Indeed, the article contains a quote from an expert defending the change.

“Deaths by date of death curve is the most accurate you can get,” University of South Florida epidemiologist Jason Salemi told the Miami Herald. “You know exactly when people died. You know how to construct the curve and exactly when we were experiencing surges in terms of deaths.”

And, perhaps most glaringly, both sets of data are still publicly available . That’s right: Anyone who wants to see deaths by reporting date can still do so.

So, they changed their way of reporting the data. Personally, I think it’s a good change, but we can disagree on that.

But they kept both sets of data available. Explain to me how this is covering anything up?

September jobs report tipping point for economic recovery | Fox Business

September is shaping up to be a critical month for the fate of the U.S. economy as the labor market’s recovery and the Federal Reserve’s tapering and rate-hike plans remain in limbo.

U.S. hiring slowed sharply last month as a resurgence in COVID-19 infections stunted job gains. Nonfarm payrolls added 235,000 workers in August, widely missing the 728,000 jobs that were expected. More than 1.05 million jobs were added in July.

Inflation, interest rates rising, slow job growth…well, who doesn’t want that?

White House says Biden did not visit Tree of Life synagogue (nypost.com)

President Biden did not visit the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh after the murder of 11 congregants — despite saying so, the White House admitted Friday.

Biden on Thursday told Jewish leaders that he remembered “spending time at” and “going to” the Tree of Life, but the synagogue told The Post he never visited.

Nearly 24 hours after being asked about the discrepancy, a White House official said in a statement that Biden “was referring to a call he had with the Tree of Life rabbi in 2019.”

Biden’s initial false statement received widespread criticism and was featured in segments on CNN and Fox News.

The 2018 mass shooting at the Tree of Life was the worst anti-Jewish hate crime in US history.

Ehh. He wasn’t there. So what. He probably thinks he was.

WATCH: Biden says he 'doesn't agree' that life begins at conception when asked about Texas abortion law | The Post Millennial

"Not to debate about I under—I respect people think that—who don't support Roe v. Wade—I respect their views," Biden continued. "I respect them, those who believe life begins at the moment of conception. And I respect that. I don't agree, but I respect that. I'm not going to impose that on people."

Well, actually you are imposing it on people, but we’ll let that one go for the moment.

It’s a basic tenet of the Catholic faith that your relationship with God begins at the moment of conception. There’s an important distinction there. They don’t say “life”, they say your “relationship with God”. The other basic tenet that comes into play here is that no one other than God has the right to terminate that relationship. Not you, not a doctor, not anyone.

To be a Catholic means accepting both of these statements as true. There are many other faiths that don’t require you to accept these statements. Catholicism does.

If you do not, then you are not Catholic. You cannot call yourself Catholic.

Biden needs to stop claiming something that isn’t true and needs to find himself a new Church.

Biden Admin Warns States That Federal Debt Crisis Could Trigger Recession | The Daily Wire

On September 17, CNN obtained a letter sent by the Biden administration to state governments warning that the policy would throw the economy into recession:

Raising or suspending the debt limit does not authorize new spending commitments. It simply enables the government to pay for obligations that Congresses and presidents of both parties have already approved. We expect Congress to act promptly to raise or suspend the debt limit and protect the full faith and credit of the United States — just as it did in a bipartisan fashion three times during the prior Administration and about 80 times since 1960.

Hitting the debt ceiling could cause a recession. Economic growth would falter, unemployment would rise, and the labor market could lose millions of jobs. City and state revenues often decline during a recession, as revenues fall due to declining incomes and spending… if the U.S. defaults on its debt — cities and states could experience a double-whammy: falling revenues and no federal aid as long as Congress refuses to raise or suspend the debt limit. This means critical state services will be at risk for budget cuts, from education to healthcare to pensions.

We’ve known this was coming for quite some time. Why haven’t you done anything about it?

My wife used to have a sign on her desk: “Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.”

That should be posted all over Washington, D.C.

Germany Vs. Gab

Social network Gab could be blocked in Germany for supporting free speech (reclaimthenet.org)

I’ve always liked Gab. I love their Dissenter app, which allows you to comment on web pages that don’t allow comments. I liked them when everyone else was oohing and ahhing over Parler.

And I like it because it supports free speech.

Which turns out to be why Germany hates it.

Gab, one of the few censorship-free alternatives to Big Tech platforms, could be banned in Germany because of the government’s insistence that it should censor its users, and therefore undermine the point of the product.

Germany was one of the first governments to pressure tech platforms to censor content and, as a country, famously has a poor history of free speech.

A statement from Gab founder Andrew Torba:

“Recently the German government has been coming at Gab hard to try and force us to comply with their draconian online censorship laws,” Torba wrote in the post.

“We have obviously refused to do so and now they are coming after us with fines of tens of thousands of dollars and other legal action. Our lawyers informed us that we have three options:

“1) Obey German censorship laws and start censoring content that the German Govt doesn’t like (not going to happen)
“2) Disobey German censorship laws and pick a fight with the nation-state of Germany (I wouldn’t ever be able to leave the US again, they would come at us from every possible angle through state-sponsored deplatforming, and Lord knows what else.)
“3) Cease providing this service in Germany by blocking German IPs.
“So obviously a very difficult decision, but one that must be made very soon. I wanted to share with you all to be fully transparent with what is going on.”

*sigh*

For those of you unclear, this is what fascism looks like.

“This Isn't a Fact-Check. It's Some Democrats With Press Passes Doing Damage Control for the President.”

USA Today "Fact-Checks" Biden Looking at His Watch - by Jim Treacher - Who the Hell Is Jim Treacher? (substack.com)

Uh oh. That sounds pretty disrespectful. Get me a fact-check, USA Today! Stat!

Whew. That’s a relief. I was afraid our dear President was disrespectful to fallen troops.

Oh, wait…

But here’s the thing, though: It’s not misleading at all. That’s exactly what happened. Biden did what he’s accused of doing. It’s true. There’s proof and everything.

This isn’t a fact-check. It’s some Democrats with press passes doing damage control for the president.

Apparently one of the adults at USA Today realized how bad this looks, but only after allowing this garbage to be published. Now the “fact-check” has been “clarified”:

“This story was updated to note that, uh… the thing we claimed to be false was actually true.”

It’s nice that we have “objective” media running interference for the President. I wish Republican Presidents could get this kind of treatment.

No, actually, I don’t. I don’t want Republican Presidents to be treated with kid gloves. I want them treated fairly. And I want Democrat Presidents to be treated the same way Republican ones are.
