At the end of World War II in Europe, the victorious Allied powers created the first international court to try war criminals from Nazi Germany. Headquartered in the German city of Nuremberg, the first and most famous trials of the major war criminals were held between November 20, 1945 and October 1, 1946, with verdicts announced on September 30 and October 1.
In the end, a large number of senior Nazi leaders were sentenced to death, including Hermann Goering (who killed himself with cyanide the night before his sentence was to be carried out), Karl Dönitz, Martin Bormann (who was missing but sentenced to death in abstentia), Alfred Jodl, Joachim von Ribbentrop and various others. Some leaders, like Rudolf Hess and Albert Speer, were given prison terms in Spandau Prison. The death sentences were carried out on October 16, 1946.
Described as "the greatest trial in history" by one of the presiding judges, Nuremberg was a leap in international law, and would set a precedent for trying war crimes in an international court. The effect of Nuremberg can be seen in the modern-day International Criminal Court and with the prosecution of criminals for actions during wars in Yugoslavia and beyond.

Higher-than-expected US inflation recently prompted us to pull forward our forecast for Fed liftoff by a full year to July 2022. We now expect core PCE inflation to remain above 3% — and core CPI inflation above 4% — when the QE taper concludes, which would make a seamless move from tapering to rate hikes the path of least resistance. After liftoff, we see a second hike in November 2022 and two hikes per year after that.
The key to this gradual pace is a partial moderation in goods prices and in overall inflation, driven by a combination of slowing demand and rising supply. On the demand side, we expect spending on goods to moderate as US government income support normalizes and service activity rebounds. Although US real goods consumption remains nearly 10% above trend, this already represents a decline of 5% since the peak in March when households received stimulus checks, and the adjustment likely has further to go.
They don’t see inflation dropping much any time soon. Well, that’s great news.

One-hundred-eleven container ships are waiting to unload at ports such as Los Angeles and Long Beach, breaking the previous record of 108 ships set on Oct. 21, according to Business Insider. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, ships almost never waited to dock. A spike in demand combined with a shortage of dock workers and truckers has caused the jam.
The supply chain bottleneck is growing despite pressure from the Biden administration for shipping companies to adopt around-the-clock schedules. In October, President Joe Biden announced that the Port of Los Angeles would operate 24/7. Major retailers including Walmart, FedEx, and UPS would also lengthen working hours, Biden said.
California ports said they would fine shippers that do not comply with the extended working hours and leave their containers too long on the docks. Port authorities in Los Angeles and Long Beach pledged to fine shipping companies $100 a day for every container left on the docks.
The ports began tallying the containers left behind at the beginning of November and will levy fines as early as mid-November. More than 60,000 containers are subject to fines.
Typically, a high number for this would be…two. It is exceptionally rare for there to be more than one. And we have over 100. This isn’t going to end anytime soon.

It’s Going to Take a While to Fix the Supply Chain Issues

What we have is a system with a limited amount of trucks and qualified drivers, many of whom are already working 14 hours a day (legally, the maximum they can), and now the supposed fix is to have them work 24 hours a day, every day, and not stop until the backlog is cleared. It’s not going to happen. It is not physically possible. There is no “cavalry” coming. No trucking companies are going to pay to register their trucks to haul containers for something that is supposedly so “short term,” because these same companies can get higher rate loads outside the ports. There is no extra capacity to be had, and it makes NO difference anyway, because If you can’t get a container unloaded at a warehouse, having drivers work 24/7/365 solves nothing.
TL;DR – Even if we can get the shipping containers off the ships, we still have to go through them, load them on trucks and then have the truckers deliver them. And there just aren’t enough people to do these things.
The supply chain is fragile. You can’t let it get as bad as we have. It’s almost impossible to fix it afterward. This could take years.

Ok, let’s break down just how stupid this is.
- A ringtone is not evidence of bias, unless the ringtone is a rapper screaming “Rittenhouse is innocent”
- If you’re offended by “God Bless the USA”, you need to think about that. It’s literally a song extolling the virtues of living in America.
- Former President Donald Trump (R-USA) and MAGA have absolutely nothing to do with this trial, and even if they did, someone could like the song and not like the former President.

Governor Abbott blasted the city for COVID-19 rules on testing and social distancing requirements that he characterized as too “stringent.” The mayor is not commenting but the Austin Center for Events, which sets the permitting requirements for special events, said it “proactively” reached out over the summer to parade organizers. Organizers expect about 30,000 participants and attendees. The city rules include proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of entering an outdoor event in downtown Austin. According to the Austin Center for Events spokesperson, there is no requirement for proof of vaccination. The governor has banned local governments from requiring anyone get the COVID-19 vaccine.

No, this isn’t going to be one of those “what happened to Drudge” posts, although it could be.
I rarely go to Drudge anymore. It used to be my go to news source, but he’s just gotten too off the wall. It’s always been “stories that Matt cares about” which was fine, when those were the stories that I cared about. But increasingly, that’s not the case.
But I do drop in once or twice a week, just to check to see if there’s anything I missed that I might care about and to check on his obsession with former President Donald Trump (R-USA). Every time I check there are at least one or two Trump links, and they’re always either negative or snarky or both.
Come on.
It’s been a year since the election. Trump is rarely newsworthy anymore. Let him go.
And here’s a prime example. This actually was an occasion where Trump was a minor news story. Yesterday, he released a coffee table book full of pictures from life in the White House. Kind of a nice thing. Nothing earth shattering, but these kinds of things are usually those cutesy folksy stories on the morning news: “Former President Releases Book Showing Parts of the White House We Never See”, etc.
How did Drudge frame it?
“Trump writes picture book” making it seem as childish as possible, and just in case you didn’t get that, Drudge helpfully twists a quote from Don Jr. “son brags: Dad ‘wrote all the captions’”.
That’s the most negative and snarky spin possible from what happened. It’s just a coffee table book.

In it, two of the main characters, Art Bonner and Barbara Churchward have mental implants that allow them to communicate directly with the AI for the local computer network, and thus can communicate directly to each other. It’s a major plot point in the story.
Also, if I can communicate directly with a computer, I can then have it log all my thoughts (this is both good and bad), but this would enable me to live beyond the end of my human body.
True science fiction stuff here, but much of science started out that way.

He continued, “He’s on trial for homicide and in that respect I mostly agree with Joey that this is a tough case for the prosecution because it does seem like he has a plausible case of self defense.” [emphasis added].
It’s good that he got his hands out of his pants long enough to figure that out.
Toobin isn’t the only analyst on CNN today arguing that things aren’t going well for the prosecution. After the judge in the case gave the prosecutor a tongue lashing today, analyst Paul Callan commented that “this prosecutor seems to have made an enemy of the judge.” Callan then explained the Wisconsin law that regulates “propensity evidence.”
The second half of this clip shows two more analysts reacting to that same moment. Civil Rights Attorney Areva Martin agrees that the prosecutor was “pushing the envelope.”

On November 12th, a federal grand jury indicted former Trump advisor Steve Bannon on charges of contempt of Congress due to Bannon refusing to comply with a subpoena issued by the House committee tasked with investigating in the January 6th incident at the Capitol.
In a press release from the Department of Justice, Bannon was formally charged with two counts of contempt of Congress for his refusal to physically appear and the second count for not handing over requested documentation.
This is a warning shot to others who might resist testifying about the January 6 protests.

Twitter temporarily suspends Libertarian Party of Kentucky for saying Kyle Rittenhouse "did nothing wrong" (reclaimthenet.org)
Of course, he did nothing wrong. That’s a true statement.
Twitter seems to have made up its mind about what transpired in Kenosha and whether its users are allowed to view Rittenhouse as innocent of the charges.
According to the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire (LPNH), who tweeted on Monday, the tweet that got the LPKY in trouble read, “Watching this trial, it’s ever more obvious that Kyle Rittenhouse did nothing wrong.”
The party’s account was then suspended and those behind it were forced to delete the tweet to be able to continue posting on Twitter, screenshots shared on their own Twitter account by the LPNH showed.
This is just another example of why Twitter shouldn’t be censoring anything that isn’t explicitly criminal. They censored someone for saying a true statement. Provably true, as it turns out.

I’m not even going to attempt to defend Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ-04). The video is over-the-top. And the best thing you can say about it is that it’s in exceptionally poor taste. Imagine you posting a similar video with you and one of your coworkers. How do you think your boss is going to react? How do think your other coworkers will react.
Criminal investigations are excessive though. And I don’t recall House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-11) reacting this same way when Rep Maxine Waters (D-CA-43) called for violence against Republicans.

And Now We Travel Back in Time to the Day Kyle Rittenhouse Testified in His Own Defense
I already blogged about the verdict here. But I’m still working on getting caught up, so we’re going to travel back in time a bit.
Most observers were surprised when the defense announced that Rittenhouse would testify on his own behalf, especially given how poorly the prosecution had performed so far. Testifying as the defendant opens you up for cross examination. The prosecution wants you on the stand. They want to either force the truth out of you or catch you in a lie. Or just confuse you enough to make you look bad.
But I think Kyle wanted to tell his story. It was a good decision. He stood up to the DA and told us what we’ve all been waiting to hear. He told us what happened that night and why he did what he did. He’s the only person who could do that. Everyone else was just speculating.
Rittenhouse did very well.

Other things were misinformation at various times, such as:
- Masks help protect you from the virus
- The virus isn’t airborne
- It will be impossible to create a vaccine in under 3-5 years
All of these were accepted “facts” at times in 2020. Discounting any of these was spreading “misinformation”.
That’s the problem with calling something “misinformation”. Truth changes over time as we learn more and just naturally as time goes by. We now know that natural immunity helps protect you better than any of the vaccines. This is an unequivocal fact and is supported by many studies. However, some social media sites still consider any discussion about natural immunity to be spreading misinformation.
So, tell the Pfizer CEO that he’s lost his mind, and he needs to listen more and talk less.

This was the correct verdict. Any other verdict would have been a travesty.
Look, I’m not trying to argue that Rittenhouse belonged there that night. He didn’t. But neither did any of his attackers. The facts in the case are clear.
- Kyle Rittenhouse was in a place he should never have been carrying a weapon he should never have brought
- His attackers were in a place they should never have been, carrying weapons they should never have brought
- Rittenhouse was attacked and rightfully feared for his life.
- If Rittenhouse had not acted to defend himself, he would now be dead.
- If you think that the verdict was wrong, then you’re saying that it was okay for his attackers to use deadly force against him, but not for him to use the same deadly force in defending himself.
Finally, if you dispute any of my five points, you’re a complete idiot. These are facts, not opinions.

This Seems Fair
High School Girl Suspended After Reporting Sexual Assault. Principal, Asst. Principal Suspended With Pay. | The Daily Wire
A North Carolina high school principal and assistant principal have been suspended with pay following an investigation which found that a high school student was suspended after she reported being the victim of a sexual assault. After the suspension of Hawthorne Academy High School Principal Diann Weston and assistant principal Nina Adams was announced, the mother of the girl who reported the assault stated, “My daughter wants everyone to know that she thanks them and it makes her feel she has more support. … We never expected to get as much publicity as we did but we want everyone to know that things like this should be heard and not hidden.”
So, apparently they did their own “investigation” and found there was no “credible evidence” to the girl’s claims. So they suspended her and made her take classes on harassment.
Maybe they were right. Maybe she lied. Maybe she didn’t. Not enough facts in the article to decide. But it was right to suspend them. You don’t get to conduct an investigation in the dark and then blame the accuser in a rape case. Yes, rape accusers do lie. But if you claim one is, you better bring a strong case to back that up. It does not appear that they did.

In the hours and days after 9/11, when I still thought MSNBC was a good network, I tuned into that station for most of my news. And Brian Williams was on. It seemed like he was on 24 hours a day those first few days. I got my news from him about a world that had suddenly and frighteningly changed. And he was reassuring. He was calm and poised. He told us what had happened and warned us there might be more. But he didn’t panic, and a couple of times he kept me from panicking.
That’s what I try to think of when I think of when I think of Brian Williams. Not the farce he became later in his career. I will miss that Brian Williams. But then I’ve missed him for over fifteen years.

That last statement is a flat-out lie. The side effects, particularly in boys, can be quite severe, and occur in similar numbers to the prevention of the disease. Me, I’d rather take my chances with the China virus.

Trucking Companies Warn Biden Administration That Vaccine Mandates Worsen Supply Chain Crisis (lifezette.com)

According to the Washington Examiner, the American Trucking Associations (ATA), Truckload Carriers Association, and International Foodservice Distributors Association sent a letter to the Biden administration, warning them that a vaccine mandate on companies would ultimately lead to trucker shortages.
Recently, the ATA wrote, “We estimate companies covered by the mandate could lose 37% of drivers at a time when the nation is already short 80,000 truck drivers. We ask for flexibility for transportation and supply chain essential workers, particularly truck drivers who spend most of their time in their trucks and have minimal contact with colleagues and customers.”
I only point this out because Trucker’s Unions are traditionally quite Democratic. Biden keeps ticking off his own people. Not a wise course to take.
And the truckers are absolutely right, of course. It will further disrupt the supply chain. And Team Biden knows that, even if Clueless Joe doesn’t. But they don’t care. The suffering of Americans isn’t important. Transforming the nation, no matter the cost, is all that matters.

Two months before the CDC announced that atypical cases of heart inflammation were a possible side effect of the mRNA vaccination for COVID-19, particularly in young men, Ernesto received the government-recommended shot. Five days later, 16-year-old Ernesto died of an enlarged heart.
According to his father, Ernesto collapsed while playing basketball with a neighbor. Autopsy reports indicated Ernesto’s heart was twice as large as it should have been. Before his death, he was a member of JROTC and had played baseball since he was seven. His father reports he was healthy, with no heart-related health issues.
An enlarged heart is one of the symptoms of myocarditis. Between December 14, 2020, and July 16, 2021, the CDC reported the following in its analysis of the 863 serious vaccine side-effects, including deaths, posted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in children aged 12-17:
“The most commonly reported conditions and diagnostic findings among reports of serious events were chest pain (56.4%), increased troponin levels (41.7%), myocarditis (40.3%), increased c-reactive protein (30.6%), and negative SARS-CoV-2 test results (29.4%) (Table 2); these findings are consistent with a diagnosis of myocarditis.”

So, Ramirez and other families who did everything the Biden administration asked of them, by getting their teens vaccinated against a disease that posed them extremely low risk, get nothing but a permanent hole in their hearts. These families are not even being acknowledged by the government, other than Sen. Johnson. The CDC, NIH, and FDA ignore them.
Meanwhile, illegal immigrants who broke our laws, chose to leave their children behind, and continued to reject reunification at home, stand to be rewarded.
At the conclusion of his testimony, Ramirez said, “I love my country. I don’t trust my government.” Who can blame him, when it puts the suffering of foreigners ahead of the pain of its own citizens?
That’s a question I’d like to see asked at a press conference. Why does this administration put the suffering of foreigners who have violated our laws to get here ahead of the pain of its own law-abiding citizens?

The report further concluded that women tend to be harmed more than men during cataclysmic climate events because they remain in the home while men are “out in the open” and cultural gender roles “sometimes limit women’s abilities to make quick decisions.”
805 of those displaced are women. Huh? I’m sorry, I’m gonna need some actual evidence before I accept such a ridiculous claim. And, as the article notes, that statistic is backed up by, well, nothing at all.

“Inflation” and ”Record High”. Not Things You Want to Hear Together
Producer Price Index Rises 8.6% From Last October, Matching Record High | The Daily Wire
The Department of Labor’s Producer Price Index, which measures wholesale prices for goods producers, showed that inflation rose 0.6% in October, and matched the record annual increase of 8.6% set in September.
The Associated Press reported that producer inflation increased by 0.6% from September to October, influenced mostly by high gas prices. Excluding those price increases and food prices, inflation rose 0.4% from month to month and 6.8% from last year.
CNBC reports that the year-over-year increase is the highest figure recorded by the Labor Department in 11 years, whose records go back as far as November 2010. The outlet reported that the increase was in line with Dow Jones estimates and indicate the continual pressures being put on the economy.
Great news. I hope more of Team Biden will come out and laugh about it again.

What to do about the President’s declining poll numbers? One answer:
Respected Democrat strategist Mark Penn has a piece in The New York Times urging Biden to shake off these progressives and reconnect with the moderates in his party. This is what Bill Clinton did, he reminds readers, to save his presidency in the mid-1990s.
However, there’s a problem with that:
Yes, it’s true that Clinton saved his presidency by turning to the middle. But then, in 1994, according to Gallup, 25% of Democrats self-identified as liberal, 25% conservative, and 48% as moderate.
Today, per Gallup, the percentage of Democrats identifying as liberal has doubled to 51%; the percentage identifying as conservative is half what it was in 1994—12%—and the percentage of moderates has dropped from 48% to 35%.
At the same time, Republicans have become more conservative than they were in 1994.
In 1994, 58% of Republicans identified as conservative. Today, it’s 75%.
Biden could move to the center, but then he’d tick off pretty much everyone. That’s not where his party is anymore, and it still wouldn’t appease the right.
Every candidate claims to be a uniter, not a divider. Until we elect someone who backs up those words, things will just get worse in this country.

It’s one thing for me to call the President senile. It’s another for a doctor who has not examined him to make such a claim. I didn’t like it when doctors did that to Trump. I don’t support now against Biden either. And he’s a Republican Congressman, which taints his “diagnosis” a bit.

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), a former White House physician who served under former Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump, said last week that President Joe Biden, who turns 79 this month, has “age-related cognitive decline” and is not “mentally fit” to serve as president.
Jackson, speaking on a podcast with Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), also said that he received a “scathing” email from Obama accusing him of “betrayal” for talking about Biden’s mental state in the past.
I don’t think this helps the situation. In fact, I think it hurts.

Eleven plus fifty Republicans would be a filibuster proof majority. The Republicans could actually force Biden’s hand on this issue.
In the letter, released by Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), the Democrats urge Biden to explore all available options, including banning crude oil exports and opening the National Strategic Petroleum Reserve, to help lower the cost to consumers at the pump. It was also signed by Senators Bob Casey (D-PA), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Ed Markey (D-MA), Tina Smith (D-MN), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Sherrod Brown (D-OH).
“According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline is the highest it has been since 2014, with an increase of more than $1 per gallon since this time last year,” the letter reads. “In our home states, high gasoline prices have placed an undue burden on families and small businesses trying to make ends meet, and have proven especially burdensome as our constituents continue to recover from the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Langton previously spoke out at a Sept. 23 Fairfax County Public Schools school board meeting, where she went viral for her calling out the contents of “Lawn Boy” by Jonathan Evison and “Gender Queer” by Maia Kobabe, which she said contained child pornography and pedophilia available to young teenagers in the district’s libraries.
On Nov. 3, she missed a call from the school’s principal, Maureen Keck, who called her again the next day. Keck said it had been brought to her attention that Langton was on campus on Oct. 27 and had checked out “All Boys Aren’t Blue,” which the principal claimed was against the rules, Langton told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
In the school’s defense, the headline of the article is misleading. They didn’t apparently say she wasn’t allowed in the library, merely that she wasn’t allowed to checkout books. But I think the headline is “fake, but accurate”. That is the sense that I get from the school. They didn’t want her there inventorying their selection of books.
Like I said, two upraised middle fingers from me.

We have a lot more to do to protect the interests of New Hampshire citizens. And it’s just clear that I can be most effective doing that.”

Reminder to Democrats sighing in relief at Chris Sununu not running in NH: Kelly Ayotte lost to Maggie Hassan in 2016 by a grand total of 1,017 votes. Out of 708k cast. So if Ayotte runs, Hassan is still in a VERY precarious situation in a Republican wave year.

I have been universally against this no matter who has been President. The Strategic Oil Reserve is not for controlling gas prices. It’s for when our oil supply is cut off. Tapping the Reserve puts the nation at risk. Obama seriously depleted our Reserve and it took most of Trump’s Presidency to refill it. Trump was clever, though. He bought the oil when it was dirt cheap.

During an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, Granholm said the president’s decision could hinge on a forecast due this week by the U.S. Energy Information Agency. Granholm also discussed OPEC’s resistance to the administration’s calls for increased production after it took 10 million barrels per day off of production in response to the pandemic.

In the wake of the National School Board Association’s letter to the Biden administration requesting federal intervention to penalize parents who protest at school-board meetings, 23 state chapters have now distanced themselves from the headquarters, and seven have disassociated altogether.
After the New Hampshire, Missouri, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Ohio state school-board associations ended their memberships with the NSBA, citing grievances with its decision to engage the Biden administration without first consulting them, South Carolina and Montana followed their example and severed ties Monday.
Wow, I’d lost count. That’s a lot. Still nowhere near 50, though. We need more. The national organization must be neutered.

Ana Kasparian, a cohost of the popular progressive online news show “The Young Turks,” shockingly revealed last week that she “was wrong” about key facts concerning the case of Kyle Rittenhouse.
Kasparian said she thought Rittenhouse first chased after Joseph Rosenbaum, sparking the incident that ended with the teen fatally shooting Rosenbaum. However, it was Rosenbaum who chased after Rittenhouse. Moreover, a gun was fired from a third party just seconds before Rittenhouse fatally shot Rosenbaum.
“I was wrong about that, okay, so I want to correct the record,” Kasparian said on her news show. “Look, these details matter, because if you’re going to make an argument that you acted in self-defense, there needs to be some proof that there was an imminent threat.”
I hope you are examining why you didn’t realize this long before now.

Biden Still Considering Forcing Vaccine, Testing Requirements For Domestic Travel | The Daily Wire
On Monday, White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre acknowledged that President Biden is still considering the idea of forcing domestic travelers within the United States to undergo vaccine or testing requirements.
A reporter asked Jean-Pierre, “The U.S. is now accepting fully vaccinated travelers from countries that were previously restricted during the pandemic. And given how rapidly the Delta variant spread here within the United States over the summer, why are there still no vaccine or testing requirements for domestic travel?”
“So, you know, we say this all the time: Everything is on the table,” Jean-Pierre answered. “We just don’t have any announcement to preview right now on this. So, I don’t have anything more to share on the domestic travel.”
It’s a stupid idea, but at least it’s not all by executive fiat. The Democrats on the Hill are here to help!

In Our Broken Elections: How the Left Changed the Way You Vote , the duo with three decades of voting study between them highlighted the 1,334 cases of fraud and 1,147 criminal convictions Heritage has collected dating to the 1982 conviction of 63 involved in a scheme to stuff 100,000 extra ballots in an Illinois gubernatorial primary.
Fast-forward to 2020: They detailed the allegations of how Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg spent millions on election tricks in mostly Democratic areas to help Biden and how his money is to be used in 2022 to skew elections.
In between, they pointed to politicians, including Biden, who used to decry the types of election “reforms” Democrats and the media are now championing, such as eliminating voter identification.

- an article titled “Food Has Always Been Political,”
- “Black Marxism: The Making of Black Radical Tradition” by Cedric Robinson,
- “The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution,” a documentary about the militant Black Panthers group,

Another ACPS page, simply titled “Teaching Racial Justice,” promotes “How To Be An Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi, in which Kendi argues, “The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.” The page also declares, “Racism against the Asian-American community is deeply ingrained in the fabric of our country.” Other resources it promotes include “White Fragility” by Robin DiAngelo, “White Rage” by Carol Anderson, “White Teachers Need Anti-Racist Therapy” by Bettina Love, and “Why Teaching Grit Is Inherently Anti-Black” by Bettina Love.
