Parents Demanding School Officials Do Their Job ‘Not How Things Work In A Democracy’: CNN Guest | The Daily Wire

Lemon introduced the topic after a Virginia gubernatorial debate in which Democratic candidate and former governor Terry McAuliffe said, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” Lemon accused McAuliffe’s Republican challenger, Glenn Youngkin, of “seizing on” the topic and “stoking a culture war over what kids are being taught in schools.”

Vindman agreed that the assertion that public schools are teaching Critical Race Theory is “nonsense,” although Lemon’s program previously featured a public high school teacher who teaches CRT to her students in Philadelphia. She, too, insisted that public schools do not teach CRT.

Norman Rockwell based his famous painting, “Freedom of Speech,” on Jim Edgerton, a real-life citizen of his hometown who spoke out in a public meeting against one of the town’s educational proposals.

House Democrats want to make Big Tech liable for "harm" caused by its algorithms (reclaimthenet.org)

The Democrats want more control over Social Media. They want to silence anyone who disagrees with them.

A number of House Democrats have introduced a bill, the Justice Against Malicious Algorithms Act, whose goal is to change Communications Decency Act’s Section 230 and remove protections it grants to internet service providers if they recommend content that is deemed to lead to “severe emotional injury to any person.”

This is effing scary. I know the Democrats have felt this way for years. But they were smart enough to keep it to themselves. Now they feel like they can bring this kind of totalitarianism public.

This. Must. Be. Stopped.

The Left Is Power Mad and Evil

Quoting from InstaPundit:

Biden Administration Denies Bipartisan Lawmakers From Inspecting Afghan Refugee Holding Facility (lifezette.com)

This is actually quite odd. I honestly can’t think of a reason why they’d do this. And I’m not being sarcastic.

Representative Darrel Issa for California, one of the delegation members said the group included House Foreign Affairs Committee members. Yet, the White House still denied them access to Camp As Sayliyah.

Speaking to reporters, Issa said officials “never let us meet with the 2,300 remaining America-bound refugees, maybe some of whom are American citizens and others who are green card holders. We think the number one classified piece that they were protecting is called embarrassment. Many of these people have stories of the difficulty getting out, the lack of cooperation or help by the State Department, and now they find themselves being artificially held longer in some cases. We think it’s just that they don’t want people telling their stories.”

Hmm. Embarrassment. Possibly. There’s a ton of stuff out there making the Biden Administration look bad. I guess they don’t feel like they need one more, and this one they can stop.

But, honestly, is it likely to be that bad compared to all the other things? Hmm…maybe it is. I dunno.

Former South Philly Judge of Elections Charged in Massive 4-Year Voter Fraud Scheme (ijr.com)

How many times have we been told that there is no voter fraud?

According to Philadelphia magazine, Marie Beren, 67, faces federal charges for participating in a voter fraud scheme from 2015-2019. The outlet said Beren faces four charges related to voter fraud, one of which is conspiracy.

At the time of the charges, Beren was serving as a staffer for Philadelphia City Councilmember Mark Squilla. However, she has previously served in plenty of other political roles in the city.

Prosecutors said Beren and an unidentified “consultant” were involved in the voter fraud conspiracy. The complaint alleges the consultant “exercised influence and control in Philadelphia’s 39th Ward by distributing cash payments and supporting family, friends and allies for elective office in the 39th Ward, and installing Ward Leaders, Judges of Elections, and Democratic State Committee.”

I’m sure it’s all an innocent misunderstanding.

Women's Groups Silent on Loudoun School Rape Allegations (dailysignal.com)

Why is that?

Advocacy groups that once emphatically urged the public to “believe all women” are now silent over a viral report that a skirt-wearing male student allegedly raped one of his peers in her school bathroom.

“The left’s silence on the accusations of sexual assault inside Loudoun County schools is absolutely deafening,” Lauren Adams, legal director of the feminist group Women’s Liberation Front, said in a statement to The Daily Signal. “The #MeToo movement advocated for society to believe survivors, but, apparently, that goes out the window when the perpetrator may identify as transgender.”

How you know the whole “#MeToo” movement was a load of crap.

Loudoun County School Board Member Resigns Following Daily Wire Investigation | The Daily Wire

Need to get rid of the rest. And put them in prison.

For the rest of their lives.

Beth Barts, a far-left member of the Loudoun County School Board, has resigned from her position.

First elected in 2019, Barts has been criticized by parent groups over Critical Race Theory and transgender policies in the school system. Her resignation, which will take effect on November 2, 2021, staves off an ongoing recall attempt.

“This was not an easy decision or a decision made in haste. After much thought and careful consideration, it is the right decision for me and my family,” said Barts in a statement Friday.

There is not a device capable of measuring how little sympathy I have for her.

Oh Noes! We’re Stuck With the Court We Have!

Far-Left Fumes Over Draft From Biden’s Supreme Court Commission On Packing The Supreme Court | The Daily Wire

They don’t think it’s a good idea. Although they do leave themselves some wiggle room.

“Court expansion is likely to undermine, rather than enhance, the Supreme Court’s legitimacy and its role in the constitutional system, and there are significant reasons to be skeptical that expansion would serve democratic values,” the report said, later adding, “Court expansion today could lead to a continuous cycle of future expansions.”

From the actual report:

As we noted in Section I (B), some proponents of Court expansion justify the reform as a response to what they perceive to be a crisis of legitimacy—a concept whose dimensions we delineate in Chapter 1 of this Report. In the wake of bitter judicial confirmation battles, critics charge that Republican lawmakers since 2016 have used underhanded measures to secure a conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court.

Critics further worry that this new supermajority threatens to take the law, and particularly federal constitutional law, in a more radical direction than where it was already moving–perhaps by reversing or continuing to revise longstanding precedents in the areas of reproductive rights, affirmative action, gun rights, religion, administrative law, voting rights, and campaign finance law.

See, they try to convince you that there is good reason for this. The conservative court is illegitimate. They don’t quite explain why. It just is. And they realize that court-packing is the response to that and it makes sense to them. But they see it as destined to backfire. Shocking.

Well, I’m glad they got to the right answer, no matter the tortuous route they took to get there.

I Think ”Murder” Is the Correct Word Here

Ashli Babbitt MURDERED? Police Report Proves She Posed No Threat During Capitol Hill Riot (lifezette.com)

The truth is – only one person died that day, and Lt. Michael Byrd shot her. While the Democrats deem them, heroes, a newly released report showed no legitimate justification for the officer to shoot Ashli Babbitt.

The report, which the D.C. Metropolitan Police released, stated, “Sergeant [redacted] observed Lieutenant Byrd step back just after hearing the gunshot. He did not see anything in the female protester’s hands prior to the gunshot.”

If the officer was White and Ashli Babbit was Black, we’d still be having riots all over America about this. And Michael Byrd would be on trial for murder even as we speak. Instead, he’s on NBC and telling everyone that he’s a hero.

B.S. He’s a villain. He shot and killed an unarmed woman who was posing no threat to him or to anyone else.

Whew, Occupying Government Buildings Is Good Again - by Jim Treacher - Who the Hell Is Jim Treacher? (substack.com)

The 1/6 riot wasn’t an insurrection, or a coup, or worse than 9/11, or just like Pearl Harbor, or any of the other ridiculous claims the Democrats have made about it. It was bad and it shouldn’t have happened, and the Dems who exploit it for their own purposes are a bunch of @$$holes. The two things are not mutually exclusive.

If you think they actually care about the sanctity of government buildings, just look at this crap.

I don’t believe anyone on the left is calling this an “insurrection” or that it’s the “end of democracy as we know it”.

So, tell me, yes or no. Is occupying government buildings in Washington, D.C bad? Is doing that an insurrection?

Yes, or no.

Consistency is everything. And it’s something that our “friends” in Washington, D.C. lack.

Ariz. Attorney General Brnovich: DOJ must probe Facebook over posts with instructions how to violate U.S.-Mexico border | One America News Network (oann.com)

That’s the thing about believing in freedom of speech. You can’t just believe in it when it benefits your side.

So, I’m on Facebook’s side on this one. I’m always on the free speech side of things. This is not a criminal act by Facebook.

No, I don’t buy that. Facebook (as far as I know) isn’t actively encouraging anything. They just aren’t doing anything to stop people from posting things like this. This seems correct to me. Now, if Facebook was deliberately encouraging people to write such things, or deliberately promoting such pieces so they’d be easily visible and searchable by users, that would be a different thing.

But the AG doesn’t appear to be claiming that.

So, while I don’t like those posts being out there, I think freedom of speech wins.

They Really Do Hate Us

Marxist Rhetoric: Schiff Claims History Will Rebuke Trump – PJ Media

Representative Adam Schiff (D-Crazy Eyes) appeared on MSNBC’s “Deadline” Wednesday to pronounce the grim verdict of history on the man who indelibly dubbed him “Little Pencil Neck,” Donald J. Trump. “I feel that keenly,” Schiff declared, “I am very confident history will rebuke Donald Trump and everyone who stood with him.” Schiff’s disdain for the America-First president is nothing new, but in stating it this time he confirmed yet again the Democrats’ march toward socialism, as the business about history judging people is straight out of the Marxist talking points folder.

While his use of Marxist rhetoric is striking, Adam Schiff as the arbiter and judge of whom history will rebuke is laughable. This is, after all, the man who was still insisting as late as April 2019 that there was “ample evidence of collusion” between Trump and Russia “in plain sight,” and that “the obstruction of justice in particular in this case is far worse than anything that Richard Nixon did. I would say in every way this is more significant than Watergate.” Despite the fact that the Democratic Congressional leadership had its knives out for Trump from the moment he declared his candidacy, no such evidence of collusion or obstruction of justice was ever presented.

Yet Schiff has never apologized for being so resoundingly on the wrong side of history in that instance. He likely believes that the inexorable tide of history will prove him correct at last.

They just want us all to shut up and do as we’re told. And they hate us because we won’t. This is what tyranny looks like. This is Biden’s America.

Sue ‘Em Into Bankruptcy

Parents of Girl Allegedly Assaulted Plan to Sue Loudoun District (dailysignal.com)

The family of a girl who was allegedly assaulted in the bathroom of a Virginia high school plans to pursue legal action against Loudoun County Public Schools over the incident and the aftermath.

“The Smith family has retained the Stanley Law Group of Virginia,” according to a statement from the firm released Thursday. The firm will not only sue the school system in relation to the alleged assault, but it will also take action related to Scott Smith’s arrest during a June 22 meeting of the Loudoun County Public Schools board.

“The facts are that a male student claiming to be ‘gender fluid’ was permitted to enter the girls’ bathroom on May 28 and sexually assault our daughter. Making matters worse, the school system repeatedly failed to protect her thereafter. Then, they concealed the sexual assault from the public while considering formalizing a bathroom access policy that would have—and now has—increased the likelihood of sexual assaults like these,” Smith and his wife, Jess, said in the statement.

There aren’t enough zeros possible for that check.

The Daily Wire reported that in the aftermath of the incident, Stone Bridge High School told Smith that it would handle the situation “in-house,” prompting Smith to protest. Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene, and they eventually took Smith’s daughter to a hospital. Loudoun County Public Schools transferred the alleged assailant to another high school

And remember. They knew. It wasn’t the rapist’s first offense.

n Oct. 7, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office stated that a student had been arrested for carrying out an assault in a local school bathroom on Oct. 6. On Oct. 13, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office stated that the alleged perpetrator of the Oct. 6 incident was also accused of the alleged assault of Smith’s daughter on May 28 at Stone Bridge High School.

“What happened to Mr. and Mrs. Smith and their daughter in Loudoun County is absolutely abhorrent and unacceptable. It is a nightmare no family should have to endure, yet it has happened twice in Loudoun Schools in the same year by the same perpetrator,” said Bill Stanley of the Stanley Law Group.

“To date, no one with Loudoun County Public Schools or the school board has been held accountable for the wrong done to the Smith family. Our firm intends to rectify that,” Stanley added.

Sickeningly, posters aren’t finding strangers to ridicule. The derided COVID-19 victims often come from the poster’s own circle of friends or social connections.

Apple is collaborating with Florida to bring support for the upcoming state digital ID to iPhone’s Wallet app. The state’s controversial digital ID is presented as a secure and verifiable way Floridians can provide identification via their smartphones.

According to Apple Insider, Florida’s digital ID might soon be available on iPhone’s Wallet app. Earlier reports indicated that Florida has finished developing the app, but it is not yet available to the public.

Once the app goes live, likely next month, Floridians will be able to download it on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store.

The digital ID system will not initially be available on Apple Wallet as it is still a work in progress.

UK MP David Davis blasts YouTube for censoring his speech against vaccine passports (reclaimthenet.org)

UK Member of Parliament (MP) David Davis has slammed YouTube for its temporary removal of a speech where he spoke out against vaccine passports and discussed the importance of freedom.

The video, which is titled “‘Vaccine passports, a solution looking for a problem’ – David Davis MP,” was a recording of a speech Davis gave at a recent event hosted by civil liberties group Big Brother Watch during the UK Conservative Party Conference 2021.

In the speech, Davis described freedom as “the principal reason that the United Kingdom has had a long and illustrious history.” He also took aim at vaccine passports and described them as something where “there’s no greater current example of this current disregard for our freedom.”

Well, you can’t just have people saying that sort of thing. Someone might hear and see them and get the wrong sorts of ideas.

Fortunately, YouTube put a stop to that right away.

But shortly after the video was uploaded to Big Brother Watch’s YouTube channel, the tech giant took it down.

Freedom of speech. Freedom of ideas. They don’t exist in the internet.

It Made Us All Sick

Obama’s Defense Secretary Unloads On Biden: Watching Disaster In Afghanistan Made Me Physically Sick | The Daily Wire

Robert Gates, the secretary of defense under former President Barack Obama, said that President Joe Biden’s disastrous pullout from Afghanistan made him physically sick to watch because it did not have to be as bad as it was.

Gates warned back in 2019 that Biden was had been “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

Gates made his new remarks about the disaster in Afghanistan during an interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” which is set to air on Sunday.

“It was really tough for a few days there, I actually wasn’t feeling very well,” Gates said. “And I realized it was because of what was happening in Kabul. And I was just so low about the way it had ended if you will, and, and I guess the other, the other feeling that I had was that it probably did not need to have turned out that way.”

When co-host Anderson Cooper brought up that Biden said any withdrawal is messy, Gates responded, “Certainly the military considers the withdraw the most dangerous part of an operation, but, but they really had a lot of time to plan, beginning with the deal that President Trump cut with the Taliban, so that was in February of 2020.”

And this guy hates Donald Trump (R-USA), so for him to come down so hard on President Joe Biden (D-USA), you know it’s bad.

This Just Gets Worser and Worser

EXCLUSIVE: Loudoun Schools Did Not Record Multiple Alleged Sexual Assaults Over A Period Of Years Despite State Law, Records Show | The Daily Wire

Well, now we know why they covered up the transgender rapist.

Loudoun County Public Schools did not record multiple known incidents of alleged sexual assault in schools dating back several years, despite a law that requires statistics about school safety incidents to be reported to the public and which includes provisions holding school superintendents personally liable for violations, a Daily Wire review of public records found.

After The Daily Wire raised the discrepancy with the Virginia Department of Education, VDOE spokesman Charles Pyle said that “VDOE is reviewing the discipline, crime and violence data submissions of Loudoun County Public Schools and is in communication with LCPS to determine whether the division’s reporting is accurate and whether the division is in compliance with state and federal law.”

If your kids are in school in this district, do them and yourself a favor. Get them out. Now.

But remember, former Governor Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) doesn’t think this is a problem.

White House Advisor Ron Klain Thinks Inflation and Shortages Are 'High-Class' Problems – PJ Media

Sure, food costs about 30% more than it did a year ago, but that’s a high class problem. The poor and the middle class don’t need to eat.

America was poised for a V-shaped recovery with a few bumps as production increased or was reshored to the United States. The current problems result from President Biden killing our energy independence, increasing reliance on China for critical inputs, and horrible public health messaging that makes many Americans think reemerging from the pandemic shutdowns is a deadly proposition.

The so-called “high-class problem” has middle- and working-class Americans scrambling to afford the increase in ground beef and a gallon of milk. At some point, it may become more difficult to find your elderly parents’ life-saving medications as they sit on a boat or in a rail yard. Somehow, I doubt Klain will miss a steak dinner or needed medications.

They have lost touch with the common man. Actually, losing would imply that they ever had it. They’re completely out of touch and have been. This is not your father’s Democratic Party. They’re wealthy and elite and entirely self-serving.

Give credit to Gupta. He came on Rogan’s show and he had to know he was going to be attacked. He sat there and took it, and even agreed that his network did not cover themselves with glory for telling people that he was taking “horse de-wormer” for his China virus infection.

Here’s  small excerpt, and probably not even the best one.

ROGAN: No, no, no. You have, before we get to that, does it bother you that the news network you work for out and out lied? Just outright lied about me taking horse dewormer.

GUPTA: They shouldn’t have said that.

A former top US election official urges sweeping security improvements, warning 'democracy is in trouble' – CyberScoop

And not because it’s a lunatic conspiracy theory. It’s because the NYT wants to bury any talk of even potential election fraud. The only thing they want to talk about related to elections and voting is Republican “voter suppression” efforts. Yes, Republicans to want to suppress votes. They don’t want dead people to vote. They don’t want people from out of state to vote. They don’t want people to vote in multiple districts. And they don’t want people to vote twice in the same district. And they don’t want computers tinkering with the results, creating votes out of nothing or changing ballots.

Oil spill: Rep. Michelle Steel calls for ban on ships anchoring off Orange County – Daily News

Under pressure to react to the recent oil spill off her House district’s shore line, Rep. Michelle Steel on Tuesday proposed a temporary ban on ships idling along the coast, citing initial reports that an anchor may have dislodged the failed pipeline.

“This crisis could have been prevented and it’s important that we protect our waters and coastline,” said Steel, R-Seal Beach, whose 48th District includes much of coastal Orange County.

Maritime experts say Steel’s proposal could lead to increased costs and delays for shipping companies, more air pollution and a greater risk of offshore accidents.

Steel’s Stopping Hazardous Incidents in the Pacific Act of 2021, or SHIP Act, would ban cargo idling or anchoring within 24 nautical miles from the Orange County coast. The ban would take effect immediately and last “up to 180 days,” or until President Joe Biden declares an end to a port backlog that’s stemmed from the coronavirus pandemic and caused a spike in ships waiting offshore.

When asked where ships would anchor, Steel’s spokeswoman Danielle Stewart said via email, “Anywhere that is not coastal Orange County.”

Florida Rate Of COVID Infections Third Lowest In U.S. In Last Week | The Daily Wire

Huh. I thought he was killing everyone. That’s what the Left says.

As the summer season has ended, and the hot temperatures start to subside across Southern states, encouraging more people to be outside rather than inside together in the air-conditioning, the rate of COVID-19 infections in Florida has plunged so rapidly that it has the third-fasted descent in rates of cases in the nation over the last two weeks, trailing only Alabama and Hawaii.

According to The New York Times chart on Thursday, Florida’s case rate per 100,000 people over the last week was 13, third only behind Connecticut and Hawaii, which both have a rate of 11 cases per 100,000.

Florida’s 14-day change rate plunged 48%, while Alabama’s fell 61% and Hawaii’s fell 51%. Notably, states farther north were found at the other end of the spectrum, including Colorado, where the rate rose 32%, Vermont, 27%, Michigan, 26%, and Minnesota, 22%.

Keep it up, Ron.

Poll: 88% of voters believe it’s very important for parents to be involved in their children’s education | One America News Network (oann.com)

Look for the left to find a way to change the subject. Soon.

A new survey indicated Americans overwhelmingly think parents should be involved in their child’s education. The Rasmussen Reports poll of likely voters conducted this week, found that 88 percent of respondents believe it’s very important for parents to be involved.

Meanwhile, just 10 percent of respondents said it’s only “somewhat important.” This comes after Attorney General Merrick Garland ordered the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate parents involved in protests about school policies, accusing parents of “domestic terrorism.”

However, most respondents said protests by parents are “clearly protected by the First Amendment.”

“We are parents, and we have every right to speak passionately and publicly about our children’s education. To post on social media. To write open letter to school board members,” said Maud Maron, New York City council candidate and former prosecutor. “To submit op-eds to newspapers. To form advocacy organizations with other parents. To organize protests. To show up to school board meetings.”

Maron wrote, “that’s not domestic terrorism. It’s good parenting. It’s patriotism. And it’s a basic American right, one we all need to defend.”

Losing issue for Biden and Garland also. The Democrats will make sure their allies in the media find a new squirrel soon.

I started swearing to my god and on my mother's grave
That I would love you to the end of time

This was them before the election, when they suddenly decided that they needed anyone other than Trump.

I swore that I would love you to the end of time!
So now I'm praying for the end of time
To hurry up and arrive
'Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive
I'll never break my promise or forget my vow
But God only knows what I can do right now
I'm praying for the end of time
It's all that I can do
Praying for the end of time,
So I can end my time with you!

And then there’s now, after less than a year of repeated and terrible disappointments.

It was long ago and it was far away
And it was so much better that it is today

It was long ago and it was far away
And it was so much better that it is today

Following five years of deliberation about the future of the school’s annual pumpkin parade, Benjamin Franklin Elementary School has decided to nix the holiday tradition this year on the advice of the school’s Racial Equity Team.

The Pumpkin Parade had traditionally featured a procession of elementary students dressed in Halloween costumes.

“Historically, the Pumpkin Parade marginalizes students of color who do not celebrate the holiday,” a spokesperson told Jason Rantz, a Seattle-based conservative radio host. “Specifically, these students have requested to be isolated on campus while the event took place.”

Oh. it’s because some people of color don’t celebrate Halloween.

There are lots of people who don’t celebrate Halloween. I doubt that is limited to just people of color. In fact, I would venture to guess that the number of Caucasians in the U.S. who don’t celebrate Halloween far outnumbers the number of people of color who don’t.

I’d guess by at least an order of magnitude.

Anyway. Fine. You don’t want to celebrate Halloween to be inclusive. I can handle that. Don’t claim it’s racist though. That’s just stupid.

After Warning Of A Canceled Christmas, Biden Demands Wal-Mart, FedEx, UPS Work To Address Global Supply Chain Issues | The Daily Wire

The White House says it met with retailer Walmart and shipping services FedEx and UPS, and the three corporations will have committed to working 24 hours a day, seven days a week” in order to resolve a global supply chain crisis that threatens to create major product availability issues just as the country moves into the holiday season.

The Biden White House warned, earlier this week, that a COVID-19-related domino effect has caused supply chain issues worldwide, and that holiday shopping might be more difficult than in years past.

Well, it’s about time. Why did it have to wait until things were at crisis level before doing anything? The handwriting has been on the wall on this for almost a year. But they can get on Border Patrol Agents with “whips” in 24 hours.

Pretty Sure That Trump Predicted This

NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio Banishes Thomas Jefferson Statue From City Hall After 187 Years | The Daily Wire

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is removing a statue of Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States and a Founding Father, from City Hall after nearly two centuries.

New York City’s Public Design Commission, each member of which is appointed by the mayor, is planning to loan the Jefferson statue to the New York Historical Society. The commission has listed the statue’s loan under its “consent” agenda, meaning the decision to remove the statue will not be open for public debate, according to the New York Post.

“The de Blasio administration will continue the progressive war on history as he, himself, fades away into a portrait on a City Hall wall,” Republican Councilman Joe Borelli told the Post. “I hope he is at least gone a couple hundred years before someone cancels him.”

And yes, this is yet another thing that Trump was right about.

Jefferson Stood for Freedom, So His Statue Must Now Go – PJ Media

Back in August 2017, Trump predicted that this day would come. At the same time that he was speaking about the infamous Charlottesville rally in remarks that would be twisted and willfully misrepresented by Joe Biden and others to claim that Trump was justifying white supremacist violence, Trump spoke about the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue there. “Many of those people,” he said, “were there to protest the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee. So this week, it is Robert E. Lee. I noticed that Stonewall Jackson is coming down.” The New York Times added: “George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, the president noted, were also slave owners. ‘I wonder, is it George Washington next week?’ Mr. Trump said. ‘And is it Thomas Jefferson the week after? You know, you really do have to ask yourself, where does it stop?’”

The Times brought in academic historians to scoff at Trump’s warning. Yale history professor John Fabian Witt, said the Times, “called Mr. Trump’s warning of a slippery slope a ‘red herring.’ There have been, after all, no calls to tear down the Washington Monument.”

Right. That didn’t come until September 2020.

The erasure of American history continues apace.

This Would Destroy a Republican President, but No One in the MSM Is Willing to Touch Hunter Biden

New Emails Suggest Shared Bank Account with Hunter and Joe Biden, Big Guy May Have Funded Hunter’s Illegal Binge (lifezette.com)

If new reports are true, the “Big Guy” Joe Biden could get entangled in an FBI investigation that continues to look into his drug addict son, Hunter Biden.  Certainly there was already some level of involvement given his role as Hunter’s father, and the very public accusations that connect Hunter’s nefarious activities with Joe, but this could escalate things to a new level.

New information from Hunter’s infamous laptop indicates that Joe and his son may have shared a bank account and help pay each other’s bills, along with other questionable activity.

Of more significance than Hunter acting like Hunter though and the possibility that Joe supported it, are the communications that show how the two, and their tax attorney, worked to pass money and ensure the family was financially protected by any means necessary. In fact, several experts who have seen the emails and trails of financial connections say that there is a clear case for money laundering, something both the FBI and IRS are allegedly investigating.

Double yikes.

Why isn’t this front page news every day? Oh yes. I mentioned it in the title. The MSM won’t touch Hunter Biden. Not until and unless they’re forced to. No one is forcing them yet.

America Is Running Out of Everything

America Is Choking Under an ‘Everything Shortage’ - The Atlantic

Sorry, I had to steal the title. I couldn’t improve on it.

This is the economy now. One-hour errands are now multi-hour odysseys. Next-day deliveries are becoming day-after-next deliveries. That car part you need? It’ll take an extra week, sorry. The book you were looking for? Come back in November. The baby crib you bought? Make it December. Eyeing a new home-improvement job that requires several construction workers? Haha, pray for 2022.

The U.S. economy isn’t yet experiencing a downturn akin to the 1970s period of stagflation. This is something different, and quite strange. Americans are settling into a new phase of the pandemic economy, in which GDP is growing but we’re also suffering from a dearth of a shocking array of things—test kits, car parts, semiconductors, ships, shipping containers, workers. This is the Everything Shortage.

And the Biden administration is fixated on parents at school board meetings. And Gender studies.

Terrified Virginia Democrats Seek to Change Election Laws After Voting Has Already Started – RedState

Sure enough, the Democrat-dominated Fairfax Board of Supervisors has asked Gov. Ralph Northam to waive the witness signature requirement that Virginia law stipulates for all absentee ballots. Board Chairman Jeffrey McKay insists that the waiver is necessary due to the threat of COVID-19, yet cases are declining.

We must make it easier to cheat. But don’t worry, there’s never any fraud.

The only Republican member of the board dissented, refusing to sign the letter asking Northam for the waiver. He cited the obvious points for his rejection, which are that 1) voting has already started and 2) that the signature requirement was passed into law for a reason, namely to ensure election integrity.

Kind of hard to argue with that.

Earlier posts of mine on this race said that Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) is the incumbent Governor. He is not. He is a former governor there.

CNN Preps Americans for Socialist Scarcity – PJ Media

CNN is already laying the groundwork for this, preparing Americans for one of the foremost hallmarks of socialist regimes the world over: empty supermarket shelves. On Sunday, the Leftist propaganda organ masquerading as a news source published a lengthy article entitled “Grocery store shelves aren’t going back to normal this year.” Or, from the looks of things, after that, unless the Leftists in the American government are thrown out of office in 2022 and 2024 and decisively repudiated.

CNN was up front about disappointing Americans who are still optimistic that some day this will all end: “If you hoped grocery stores this fall and winter would look like they did in the Before Times, with limitless options stretching out before you in the snack, drink, candy and frozen foods aisles, get ready for some disappointing news.”

No. We won’t accept that. If this is going to continue to be a problem, we need to invest the time and resources to fix it. Empty shelves and high inflation are not tolerable. If the people in charge won’t fix it, then they need to be replaced by ones who will.

Welcome to Biden’s America. You voted for this.

4 Million Workers Quit Their Jobs in August – PJ Media

According to the Labor Department, 4.3 million workers quit their jobs in August. That represents almost 3 percent of the entire U.S. labor force and is the largest number of workers quitting their jobs in one month in history.

Nearly 900,000 of those workers were employed in the restaurant industry. Another 720,000 were employed in retail, 700,000 in business services, and 534,000 in health care.

While the data do not reveal the reasons why so many workers quit their jobs in August, it’s assumed by economists that workers are less willing to endure inconvenient hours, low compensation, or bad conditions because they know there are ample opportunities elsewhere.

Working conditions. Being forced to wear masks. Being forced to be vaccinated. Fear of being exposed to the virus because the government and the media have made us all terrified of going outdoors.

Supply Chain Disruption Update for October 11, 2021 « Lawrence Person's BattleSwarm Blog

Supply chain problems have gotten so bad that Derek Thompson at The Atlantic deigns to notice them:

The coronavirus pandemic has snarled global supply chains in several ways. Pandemic checks sent hundreds of billions of dollars to cabin-fevered Americans during a fallow period in the service sector.

Not good. But wait. It gets worse.

  • Expecting these problems to be transitory? Dubai’s largest port operator says to expect supply chain problems to extend in 2023.
  • Adding to shipping woes: Marine fuel is at a seven year high.
  • India institutes rolling blackouts over a coal shortage.
  • Brazil is also having to import more natural gas.
  • Energy problems are only expected to get worse:
  • There’s also panic buying to secure winter supplies, especially in China, where “the central government there has given state-owned energy companies a directive to secure winter energy supplies at any and all costs.”
  • Steel and roofing supplies are also facing shortages.
  • Also in short supply: HVAC parts:
  • Even oats, the lowly horse and breakfast food, is hitting all-time highs.
  • Retailers say they’re getting ready for a lot of bare shelves.
  • That’s one reason big retailers like Walmart are chartering their own vessels. (Hat tip: Director Blue.)
  • There’s even a backup for ships to unload at the Port of Houston:
  • Why does UK have a truck driver shortage? Evidently they get treated like garbage compared to European driver

Treatments Keep Getting Better, so Tell Me Again Why We Need Vaccine Mandates?

AstraZeneca logs upbeat trial results from COVID drug (medicalxpress.com)

British pharmaceuticals giant AstraZeneca on Monday revealed more positive results from a trial of a treatment for COVID-19 symptoms.

The drug, made from a combination of two antibodies, achieved a "statistically significant reduction in severe COVID-19 or death" in non-hospitalised patients with mild-to-moderate symptoms, AstraZeneca said in a statement.

The group's treatment, known as AZD7442, has been undergoing phase 3 or final clinical trials to assess its safety and efficacy.

"With continued cases of serious COVID-19 infections across the globe, there is a significant need for new therapies like AZD7442 that can be used to protect vulnerable populations ... and can also help prevent progression to severe disease," said principal trial investigator Hugh Montgomery.

Look, the vaccines are good. But they aren’t as effective as we expected. That’s clear. It’s also clear that we’re not going to eradicate this disease. So, we need to be able to treat it effectively. If we can get the disease to be not significantly worse than the flu, wouldn’t that be a good thing?

Wouldn’t not needing vaccine mandates be a good thing? We don’t require people to get flu shots. We strongly encourage, but we don’t mandate.

And the Hits Just Keep On Coming

Brace yourself for a mass exodus of employees (restaurantbusinessonline.com)

Restaurants struggling to hold onto their employees are about to hit by a major setback, according to new research.

A survey of 13,659 wage earners by the online job marketplace Joblist revealed that 58% of restaurant and hotel employees intend to quit their jobs by the end of the year, stoking what the researchers have dubbed The Great Resignation.

If the pattern set by earlier quitters persists, a fourth of the workers will leave the hospitality industry for good.

The employees who intend to bail are in addition to the 16% of industry respondents who indicated they’re already no longer working.

Well, we should all eat at home more anyway, I guess. Safer, and healthier. And cheaper.

This Is 100% True and Ought to Scare Everyone

The Purpose Of The Jan. 6 Select Committee Is To Suppress Free Speech (thefederalist.com)

The final three paragraphs are quite blunt and worth quoting in their entirety.

If our news media had any interest in holding power to account, the headlines and coverage would have focused instead on how Democratic lawmakers on the committee, together with NeverTrump GOP Reps. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., and Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., are using their subpoena powers to target law-abiding Americans who wished to exercise their right to peacefully assemble and protest.

Let’s be clear on this point. Since its inception, the Select Committee has amounted to a show-trial for House Democrats and leading NeverTrumpers who are attempting to make examples out of ordinary citizens who dared to protest the election, just as President Biden’s Justice Department is throwing the book at anyone connected to the events of Jan. 6 to make examples of them.

The message is clear: if you protest, if you exercise your First Amendment rights for a cause that those in power have not approved, you will be targeted by the government, smeared and harassed by the media, and made into a spectacle — pour encourager les autres.

This is a direct assault on the First Amendment by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-11) and her cohorts in the House.

Probably the World’s Leading Expert on the Tech Behind the Pfizer and Moderna Vaccines

So, maybe you should listen to him.

Malone: Physicians Are Being 'Hunted' For Criticizing Vaccines (technocracy.news)

    Who is Malone?

    He’s this guy (emphasis mine):

Dr Robert Malone, the inventor of mRNA vaccines, says he was branded a “terrorist” by the media in Italy and warns that physicians who speak out are being “hunted via medical boards and the press.”

mRNA is the tech behind the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and behind what progress we’ve made on an HIV vaccine. That’s what mRNA was originally designed for, by the way. it is a very clever way of transmitting a vaccine, with far fewer likely side effects than traditional vaccines.

But that doesn’t mean they’re perfect. And this guy ought to know.

    He has more.

We are killing people by not giving them access to this information. And the people deciding that it’s “misinformation” know a Hell of a lot less than Dr. Malone.

He Says It Because It’s True

Sen. Ron Johnson Says Lives Are Being Lost Due to Big Tech Censorship of Conservatives (theepochtimes.com)

As an example of such censorship, Johnson said an impassioned opening statement of testimony by Dr. Pierre Kory on the treatment potential of ivermectin received 8 million views before it was censored by YouTube.

“Now we are dealing with censorship regarding the benefits of natural immunity because for whatever reason the powers that be, the COVID gods, want the vaccine in every arm,” Johnson said.

“So they are censoring the deaths [following vaccination] being reported on VAERS, over 16,000, at least 5,200 of those are within day one or two, and 750,000 adverse events, and nobody can talk about it,” he said. “This is affecting our healthcare system, it’s affecting doctors ability to save lives, we don’t know how many thousands of people lost their lives because of this censorship.”

Social media doesn’t have the right to just decide which side is right and which side is wrong, and then shut down those that they’ve decided are wrong. That’s not how scientific debate works. That’s not how freedom of speech works. That’s how tyranny works.

    Welcome to Biden’s America.

People Need to Go to Prison for This, and I’m Not Talking About Just the Rapist

And they need to be locked away for a long time.

Loudoun County schools covered up rape, prosecuted a concerned father to protect transgender agenda | Washington Examiner

The article in the Daily Wire is better, but subscriber only.

Loudoun County Schools Tried To Conceal Sexual Assault Against Daughter In Bathroom, Father Says | The Daily Wire

The Washington Examiner has a good summary.

The story highlights the arrest of a Virginia father who tried to protest pro-transgender policies the Loudoun County School Board was trying to implement at a June 22 meeting. Scott Smith was trying to tell the board that this ninth-grade daughter had been raped in the girl’s restroom by a boy wearing a skirt. Another woman at the meeting, a leftist community activist, told Smith she didn’t believe his daughter. He fired back, a police officer stepped in and grabbed Smith’s arm, Smith yanked it away, and then he was arrested.

The parent of the raped daughter was arrested. The school board who made it all possible and who were defending the rapist, were not.

The world is turned upside down.

Many parents (including myself) have warned that allowing boys to use girls bathrooms under the guise of tolerance of transgenderism is inherently dangerous. And we did not want our girls put into a situation like that. We feared what might happen.

We were mocked, ridiculed and (at best) ignored.

I understand gender dysphoria. I understand not wanting to be bound by society’s ideas on what defines you as a member of a particular gender. But the answer can’t be that boys can go in with the girls. We probably need to go to private single occupancy restrooms in all public places.

Anyway, here’s what happened in Virginia.

The Daily Wire’s Luke Rosiak writes:

Two girls, allegedly sexually assaulted in school, four months apart, by the same person. And so far, the only person to be convicted of a crime is the victim’s father.
A school policy passed following what appear to be false statements from the superintendent — a policy whose passage would have been politically impossible had Smith’s story seen the light of day.

This is truly outrageous. Loudoun County failed Smith, his daughter, and every single other parent who sends their children to its schools. School officials covered up what happened to Smith’s daughter so they could force through an unpopular and dangerous policy in the name of inclusion. When Smith tried to protest, they arrested him.

And as Rosiak notes, the local leftist prosecutor, known generally for being soft on criminals, nonetheless went out of her way to throw the book at Smith for daring to speak out about the transgender rapist who victimized his daughter.

How could Loudoun County parents possibly justify sending their children back to such schools as the ones these people run?

The boy was a known rapist. He had attempted this before at another school. How could Louden County have allowed this to occur.

Smith didn’t do anything wrong. If it had been my daughter, me screaming at a school board meeting would be the least of their worries.

They say “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”. I’d put “father whose daughter has just been raped” above that. We as a group tend to be rather over-protective of our daughters. The school board got lucky.

Another Reason to Skip the Vaccines

Merck Asks FDA For ‘Emergency Use Authorization’ For COVID-19 Pill, Cuts ‘Risk Of Death Or Hospitalization By Approx. 50%’ | The Daily Wire

As treatments get better and better, the need for vaccine mandates gets less and less. And yet, we’re hearing about them more and more. Why is that?

Pharmaceutical company Merck announced Monday that they and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics were requesting emergency authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for molnupiravir, its experimental antiviral COVID-19 pill.

“Merck has submitted an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for molnupiravir, an investigational oral antiviral medicine, for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults who are at risk for progressing to severe COVID-19 and/or hospitalization,” Merck announced in a press release. “The companies are actively working with regulatory agencies worldwide to submit applications for emergency use or marketing authorization in the coming months.”

The request was based on “positive results from a planned interim analysis” which “evaluated molnupiravir in non-hospitalized adult patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 who were at risk for progressing to severe COVID-19 and/or hospitalization.” According to the interim analysis, “molnupiravir reduced the risk of hospitalization or death by approximately 50%.”

Of course, the treatments have had about as much testing as the vaccines, so there’s no guarantee of avoiding harmful side effects here, also. The point is that we have options. We have far more options than we did a year ago. We should take advantage of them.

Be Careful. Republicans Are ”Seizing” Again.

McConnell seizes on debt standoff to undermine Biden agenda (apnews.com)

WASHINGTON (AP) — In the frantic bid to avert a default on the nation’s debt, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell held a position of unusual power — as the one who orchestrated both the problem and the solution.

McConnell is no longer the majority leader, but he is exerting his minority status in convoluted and uncharted ways, all in an effort to stop President Joe Biden’s domestic agenda and even if doing so pushes the country toward grave economic uncertainty.

All said, the outcome of this debt crisis leaves zero confidence there won’t be a next one. In fact, McConnell engineered an end to the standoff that ensures Congress will be in the same spot in December when funding to pay America’s bills next runs out. That means another potentially devastating debt showdown, all as the COVID-19 crisis lingers and the economy struggles to recover.

Notice how the AP does this. The Democrats control the White House, and both Chambers of Congress. They can’t get the debt ceiling raised, and it’s not the fault of any Democrats, but instead the fault of one man, a Republican, Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY). This is nonsense.

Whenever you read or hear about Republicans “seizing” or “pouncing”, you know that the Democrats have screwed up, and the media is trying to distract you from it by talking about what the Republicans are doing.

Rolling Stone Is Trying to Cancel Eric Clapton – PJ Media

Eric Clapton?? There are few celebrities to the left of Clapton. He’s been a liberal hero for longer than I’ve been alive.

Heh. The lead sentence of the article echoes me.

Eric Clapton has been a rock legend for longer than I have been alive. He’s an icon in the music industry who has earned respect and admiration from millions over his career. But he’s been making headlines this year for other reasons.

Since having a severe negative reaction to the AstraZeneca vaccine earlier this year, he’s become an outspoken opponent of the COVID vaccines. He has promised not to perform in venues with vaccine mandates, collaborated with Van Morrison on some anti-vaccine/anti-lockdowns songs, and even bankrolled an anti-vaccine rock group.

And his recent outspokenness as a vaccine skeptic has many of the cultural gatekeepers looking to have him canceled. Rolling Stone magazine has even run a lengthy hit piece on Clapton that blasts his vaccine skepticism.

Uh oh. He spoke out against the vaccines. That’s a big no-no. Huge.

    So, the knives come out.

“It’s a shame that this is the way that a lot of young Rolling Stone readers are going to read about him for the first time,” says Bill Oakes, who ran Clapton’s label in the 1970s. “He is one of the greats, and this is how he makes the headlines in his dotage.”

It must be tough for young Rolling Stone readers to learn about a rock legend who isn’t afraid to speak his mind against the rowdy mob of COVID zealots.

I’m so old I remember when rock was all about being outspoken, speaking out against the tyranny of government control.

Allen West Has COVID and the Left Can't Contain Its Glee – PJ Media

“Love thy neighbor” is not a liberal creed.

Mr. West has chosen to take hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, which don’t help everyone. However, few people are dropping dead after taking these drugs, though the left would have us believe otherwise. West is in the hospital and getting prayers and good wishes from many people — just not many on the left.

It’s been called “COVID Death Porn,” and the left is getting very good at it. Spectator USA writer Cockburn, who coined the term “COVID Death Porn,” explains its meaning and why it’s ludicrously stupid.

Cockburn will concede that when a public figure stakes their life on a certain medical opinion and dies a preventable death as a result, the irony is enough to merit a news story. But he would be remiss if he didn’t observe that standards for this sort of thing seem a tad inconsistent. Losing weight is another entirely controllable way to reduce COVID risk, too, but the same publications that gloat over dead vaccine skeptics have published a Pravda’s worth of takes explaining that COVID-related fat shaming is not funny and not OK.

    Neither is consistency.

I feel bad when anyone catches the China virus. Less bad now, because we’re clearly learning how to treat it better. The fatality rate continues to fall. But I don’t make exceptions based upon their political views.

Does that make me better than them? Am I putting on my “holier-than-thou” hat? Perhaps. I don’t mean to be. I’m just saying that if your hatred of someone is such that you have glee when they are ill, then you are mentally unwell.

Iceland has suspended the use of the Moderna vaccine due to the risks of heart inflammation. Several other countries this week have also suspended the use of the vaccine for the same reasons.

Iceland stated that there are concerns of increased cardiac inflammation, including myocarditis and pericarditis, after receiving the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine.

I wonder if you’re allowed to talk about this on Facebook and Twitter. Probably not.

Ah. Paul Mitchell finds a way around it. He doesn’t mention myocarditis. That word is verboten.

I’m pro-vaccine. I will remain pro-vaccine until there is hard evidence that the vaccines are unhelpful or pose a greater threat than the disease.

However, I totally understand why some people have concerns and I will not try to argue them out of their beliefs. If governments are going to force this vaccine on people, they need to prove to them that taking it is in their best interest.

So far they have not done a good job of that. Maybe because it isn’t. Certainly there are plenty who feel that’s the answer. I don’t know that I do, but as I said, I’m not going to argue with someone who does.
