Well, This Is Just Peachy

Amidst Gas Shortage, Biden Proposes Another Drilling Ban › American Greatness (amgreatness.com)

As the United States suffers from an unprecedented shortage of natural gas, the Biden Administration has proposed yet another ban on drilling in the oil-rich state of New Mexico, CNN reports.

On November 15th, Biden announced a proposal for a 20-year ban on oil and gas drilling in Chaco Canyon, located in northwest New Mexico. The justification for the ban is the proximity to the Chaco Culture National Historical Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; as such, the proposal would see a halt to all oil and gas drilling on federal lands within 10 miles of the park. The ban would be carried out by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), which falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Interior (DOI).

We should definitely respect sacred ground. But I wonder if this is really true, since we’ve been drilling there for some time. When in doubt, err on the side of caution, though.

As much as I’d like to, I can’t fault Team Biden too much for this one. But I would hope they would open up something else to offset any losses here. I doubt they will though.

Each Time It Gets More Stupid

Biden Could Release More Oil From Strategic Reserves, Even Though First Release Didn’t Move Gas Prices | The Daily Wire

The 50 million barrels released so far amount to 1/12th the total supply. If we release much more, we go from stupid to dangerous.

President Biden may release more oil from the United States Strategic Petroleum Reserve — even though a similar move from the administration had a negligible effect on gas prices.

Amos Hochstein — the White House’s Senior Advisor for Energy Security — told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble that releasing oil from the reserve “is a tool that was available to us and will be available again.”

“Remember, this was not a 50-million-barrel release, 30 million barrels were an exchange where companies and traders can take the oil now and return it over a scheduled period of time. That means the Strategic Petroleum Reserve will be replenished,” Hochstein explained. “And therefore, we have more flexibility to be able to do this again in the future if the need arises. I think we wanted to do something that was impactful for the market and that also had the ability and the flexibility to allow us to do that again should the need arise for the American economy.”

The problem is that there isn’t much of a timetable for the replenishment. And you can guarantee that traders won’t be replenishing it until the price comes down. They want to make a profit here.

Of course, there are things that Biden could to to actually lower the price of oil and gas…

I’m So Old, I Remember When We Weren’t at the Mercy of OPEC

11 months ago. Seems like a lifetime.

OPEC considers lowering production to account for oil reserve releases (worldoil.com)

OPEC and its allies may re-evaluate plans for reviving oil supplies if the world’s four largest consuming countries go ahead with a co-ordinated release of their strategic petroleum reserves.

India became the latest major consumer to contemplate deploying its stockpiles, potentially assisting the U.S., Japan and China in a move to dampen the inflationary threat of higher energy costs. The U.S. has urged fellow consumers to tap reserves after crude prices hit a seven-year high.

But the potential move pits them against the OPEC+ coalition -- led by Saudi Arabia and Russia -- for control over world oil markets.

“Such a move would potentially raise the stakes in the oil poker game and could produce new strains in the bilateral relationship between Washington and Riyadh,” said Helima Croft, chief commodities strategist at RBC Capital Markets LLC.

The 23-nation alliance already rebuffed calls from U.S. President Joe Biden and others earlier this month to speed up the return of supplies halted during the pandemic. Delegates said that even the modest production increase they have penciled in may now be re-evaluated when the group meets next week.

A year ago, we did what we wanted with our oil production, and if OPEC didn’t like it, we gave them the finger. Now, we are beggars at their door, pleading with them to increase production, while they sit back and laugh.

And Yet, They Can’t Figure Out Why Energy Prices Are So High

Biden Admin Recommends Tighter Constraints On New Oil And Gas Drilling Amid Energy Crisis | The Daily Wire

The report recommends that the federal government increase royalty rates for oil and gas drilling above the current rate of 12.5%, which is significantly less than many states and private landowners charge drilling companies to lease on their land. If implemented, the rate hike would be the first in 100 years, according to The Associated Press. The report also recommends an increase in the bond payments that oil and gas producers pay in advance for future cleanup operations from drilling new oil wells. Those rates have also not been raised in decades, according to the AP.

Brilliant.

Maybe we can close some pipelines again, too.

Well, They Have to Blame Somebody

And they cant blame Republicans. They have no power. They surely aren’t going to blame themselves. That leaves…

Democrats Start Blaming Biden For High Gas Prices, Slam His ‘Policy Band-Aid’ Of Releasing Oil Reserves | The Daily Wire

Democrat lawmakers are starting to blame Democrat President Joe Biden for high gas prices across the country that are threatening the party’s majorities in both chambers of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.

“There is a variety of contributing impacts, but certainly I think the buck stops with the president,” Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) said in an interview this week. “And I’m proud to be among those legislators on Capitol Hill that continue to ring the alarm bells about how serious this is.”

Well, she’s right. It is precisely President Joe Biden’s (D-USA) actions that have led to the high price of oil and gas. And he could undo most of them with the stroke of a pen.

This Is Gaslighting, Pure and Simple

Elizabeth Warren Just Blamed High Gas Prices on Corporate Greed. Here’s Why That Doesn’t Make Any Sense - Foundation for Economic Education (fee.org)

Who ya gonna believe? Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), or your own lyin’ eyes?

Who shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline? Was it the gas companies or President Joe Biden (D-USA)?

Who canceled federal leases for driling? Was it the gas companies or President Joe Biden?

Who enacted policies leading to inflation all across the board? Was it the gas companies or President Joe Biden?

So, who’s to blame for high energy prices? Gas companies? Or President Joe Biden?

You can’t fool me, Senator. I trust my own lyin’ eyes.

Only an Idiot Would Do This, but We Have an Idiot for President, So...

Gas prices relief? Biden releases 50M strategic oil reserve barrels (usatoday.com)

The SPR is not for price manipulation. It’s so that the country, and particularly the armed forces, can have oil available in the event of a national emergency. High gas prices are annoying as heck, but they do not constitute a national emergency. The President has far too much latitude on this.

And it’s a drop in the bucket, literally. We use that much oil in about 2.5 days.

Great. So what’s he going to do next week?

President Joe Biden is releasing 50 million barrels of oil from the nation's emergency stockpile to lower energy costs amid a spike in gas prices and soaring inflation, the White House announced Tuesday.

Thirty-two million barrels will be released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve over the next several months and will be replaced in the years ahead. An additional 18 million barrels that Congress authorized for sale will be released in the coming months.

"American consumers are feeling the impact of elevated gas prices at the pump and in their home heating bills, and American businesses are, too, because oil supply has not kept up with demand as the global economy emerges from the pandemic," the White House said in a statement. "That’s why President Biden is using every tool available to him to work to lower prices and address the lack of supply."

After months of diplomatic negotiations, the United States will release the oil in parallel with other major energy-consuming countries, including China, India, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

You shut down pipelines. You shut down drilling. Then you open up the SPR. Well, champ, you wouldn’t have had to open up the SPR, if you’d not done the other things. And they’d be a much better long term solution. Faced with that, instead of fixing what you did wrong, you did another stupid thing.

My President is an idiot.

Biden Wants Someone to Blame for High Gas Prices

He should take a long look in the mirror.

Biden Attacks Oil Companies Over Gas Prices, Demands Investigation. API Fires Back Hard: It’s Your Ill-Advised Decisions | The Daily Wire

On Wednesday, President Biden, in yet another effort to place the blame for inflated prices anywhere but on his own shoulders, called for the Federal Trade Commission to investigate major oil and gas companies over rising gas prices, sending a letter to the head of the Federal Trade Commission to call her attention to “mounting evidence of anti-consumer behavior by oil and gas companies.”

Seriously?

That triggered the American Petroleum Institute to fire back ands place the blame back on Biden, writing,”This is a distraction from the fundamental market shift that is taking place and the ill-advised government decisions that are exacerbating this challenging situation. … Rather than launching investigations on markets that are regulated and closely monitored on a daily basis or pleading with OPEC to increase supply, we should be encouraging the safe and responsible development of American-made oil and natural gas.”

Good response. Has the added advantage of being true. The high gas prices are entirely the fault of the Biden administration.

Thanks, Joe!

California Gas Price Averages Soar to All-Time Record High – PJ Media

On Sunday, California gas prices rose to a record-setting high average of $4.676 per gallon for regular gasoline, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA). The previous record average price of $4.671 was set in October 2012.

The Golden State is America’s largest state by population and currently has the highest gas prices in the country even as the national average dropped slightly to $3.413.

One reason for the increase, AAA said, is the state’s reduced refinery production capacity due to heavy rainstorms in northern California which then trickled down the supply chain, impacting southern California similar to what happened in Louisiana during Hurricane Ida last August.

Well, at least it’s Democrats paying the most for Democrat policies. But we all get screwed, just some worse than others.

Thanks, Joe!

Psaki On Rising Energy Costs: Makes ‘Even Stronger Case For Doubling Down’ On Our Energy Agenda | The Daily Wire

In other words, they’re deliberately allowing gas prices to rise to push their agenda. They don’t care about you or your pain, just their agenda.

This Is 100% True

Pavlich: Biden's self-inflicted energy crisis | TheHill

And entirely predictable as well.

Just hours after his inauguration, President Biden walked into the Oval Office and issued an executive order stopping construction on the Keystone XL pipeline. One week later, he followed through on promises made to halt new oil and gas leasing on federal land. The White House justified the moves as crucial to combating climate change. Currently, the administration is considering the shutdown of the L5 pipeline that runs from Canada to Michigan, which would further limit energy transport and supply.

Biden’s choice of Kamala Harris, the most progressive member of the Senate, as running mate was also a precursor. After all, Harris endorsed the Green New Deal with socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). They also co-sponsored the Climate Equity Act.

All the signs were there long before he was elected. You either chose to ignore them out of blind hatred for Trump, or you don’t care, or you’re stupid. Either way, this is all your fault. You voted for this addlebrained fraud. I didn’t.

Biden’s America.

No, I Didn’t. But if I Had, I Would Have Expected It During a Democrat Administration.

Biden Asks If You Ever Thought You'd Pay This Much for Gas (mediaite.com)

He then brought up an example that, generally speaking, politicians have been loathe to mention out loud unless the other guy’s party is the one in power.

“Did you ever think you’d be paying this much for a gallon of gas?” Biden asked. “In some parts of California they’re paying four dollars and fifty cents a gallon!”

Those gas prices, as well as inflation of prices on things like milk or other groceries, are among top concerns in polling, where President Biden has faced majorities disapproving of his handling of the economy.

Clueless Joe strikes again.

This Is a Troublesome Number for Biden

Eleven Senate Dems Call On Biden To Take Action On Soaring Gas Prices | The Daily Wire

Eleven plus fifty Republicans would be a filibuster proof majority. The Republicans could actually force Biden’s hand on this issue.

In the letter, released by Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), the Democrats urge Biden to explore all available options, including banning crude oil exports and opening the National Strategic Petroleum Reserve, to help lower the cost to consumers at the pump. It was also signed by Senators Bob Casey (D-PA), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Ed Markey (D-MA), Tina Smith (D-MN), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

“According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline is the highest it has been since 2014, with an increase of more than $1 per gallon since this time last year,” the letter reads. “In our home states, high gasoline prices have placed an undue burden on families and small businesses trying to make ends meet, and have proven especially burdensome as our constituents continue to recover from the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Is this the end? Will they do more then just write a letter?

Stay tuned.

I Said That It Was a Stupid Idea, so Naturally Biden Would Do It, and Look Here It Comes

Biden May Tap Strategic Petroleum Reserve Amid Rising Fuel Prices (legalinsurrection.com)

I have been universally against this no matter who has been President. The Strategic Oil Reserve is not for controlling gas prices. It’s for when our oil supply is cut off. Tapping the Reserve puts the nation at risk. Obama seriously depleted our Reserve and it took most of Trump’s Presidency to refill it. Trump was clever, though. He bought the oil when it was dirt cheap.

Fear that the [President’s poll] numbers will plummet even farther amid rising fuel prices is likely one of the driving reasons the occupant of the Oval Office is considering tapping into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

President Joe Biden may soon tap into the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve to boost domestic energy supply as prices continue to soar heading into winter, according to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.

During an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, Granholm said the president’s decision could hinge on a forecast due this week by the U.S. Energy Information Agency. Granholm also discussed OPEC’s resistance to the administration’s calls for increased production after it took 10 million barrels per day off of production in response to the pandemic.

Idiots.

It’s like they’re deliberately trying to make the worst possible choices in every case. How in the world did such morons get elected? Well, I guess we should all be happy. We have $4.00 gas, but no Mean Tweets.

That’s Because He Isn’t Doing Anything

WATCH: White House Can’t Name A Single Thing Biden Is Considering Doing To Lower Gas Prices | The Daily Wire

A reporter asked Jean-Pierre what else the administration could do “besides tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve” to combat rising gas prices.

“You know, we have — we don’t have an announcement yet on anything — anything to share at this time,” she responded. “You know, but we’re monitoring it. Right? We’re monitoring the prices and we’re making sure that we have tools in our toolbelts that we can — we can — we can try and use. But at this time, I don’t have anything new to share.”

“But just what else are you reviewing?” the reporter pressed. “Because [Energy] Secretary [Jennifer] Granholm has confirmed that is an option that’s on the table, and the President has said there are other tools that you could potentially use. So, could you just lay out what those other options are that he’s considering?”

“So I don’t — again, I don’t — I don’t have anything specific here,” she responded. “The President spoke to this recently. But he’s also asked the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to crack down on illegal pricing. Right? That is one thing that he did on gouging in the market.  And the FTC is responding. But, also, we’re going to continue to monitor the situation and have a number of tools in our arsenal. As I just mentioned, I don’t have anything specific.”

Tapping the Strategic Oil Reserve is an exceptionally bad idea, so I’m sure that will be first on their list.

She ”Hopes” Gas Doesn’t Reach $4 a Gallon

Maybe you could stop hoping and start doing something about it.

Biden Energy Secretary: People ‘Going To’ Pay More To Heat Homes, ‘Hope’ Gas Doesn’t Hit $4 Per Gallon | The Daily Wire

Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm told CNN on Sunday that Americans will pay more to heat their homes this winter as energy prices continue to skyrocket and that the administration hopes that gas prices do not hit $4 per gallon.

“So, according to AAA, the national average of gas prices is now $3.42 a gallon. Bank of America is predicting crude oil prices could soar another 50 percent by next June,” CNN host Dana Bash said. “Could the average gas price in America be $4 a gallon in the United States soon?”

“Well, we certainly hope not,” Granholm responded. “As I say, the Energy Information Agency is going to put out their forecast this week.”

Well, maybe global warming will keep us from having to heat our homes this winter.

Hmm. It snowed here over the weekend.

I guess not.

I Refuse to Believe Anyone Is This Dumb

Not even Clueless Joe.

Therefore, I can only assume that the intent is to actually destroy this country.

Biden Admin Weighing Shutting Down Oil Pipeline In Michigan As Gas Prices Skyrocket Across U.S.: Report | The Daily Wire

“Revoking the permits for the [Line 5] pipeline that delivers oil from western Canada across Wisconsin, the Great Lakes and Michigan and into Ontario, would please environmentalists who have urged the White House to block fossil fuel infrastructure, but it would aggravate a rift with Canada and could exacerbate a spike in energy prices that Republicans are already using as a political weapon,” Politico Pro reported. “Killing a pipeline while U.S. gasoline prices are the highest in years could be political poison for Biden, who has seen his approval rating crash in recent months.”

Oh my God. Do they have no sense of shame whatsoever?

Who in their right mind could possibly think this is a good idea?

This Woman Is Incapable of Doing Her Job

Biden’s Energy Sec Laughs, Then Says U.S. At Mercy Of OPEC. Crenshaw Fires: ‘Our US Energy Secretary Is A Joke. And A Liar.’ | The Daily Wire

Granholm was prompted by an interviewer for Bloomberg, who asked, “In Sturgis, Michigan, (gas) is $2.89 a gallon. I guess that’s better than in California. What is the Granholm plan to increase oil production in America?”

Granholm burst into uncontrollable laughter, then responded patronizingly, “Would that I had the magic wand on this. As you know, of course, oil is a global market. It is controlled by a cartel. That cartel is called OPEC. And they made a decision yesterday that they were not going to increase beyond what they were already planning.”

Since when does the U.S. beg OPEC for anything? We certainly didn’t during the last four years, when we were essentially energy independent by being a net oil exporter. We were able to set the prices, or force them down anyway, and were able to do it in spite of OPEC. If she doesn’t understand that or won’t take action to do it, then she’s not capable of doing her job.

True dat. But the joke’s on us.

I Was Optimistic When I Said $5 Gas

Methane Regulations Threaten Oil Industry | National Review

According to an article in the November 2, 2021, Wall Street Journal, Biden’s EPA will soon issue regulations requiring that all associated natural gas released in conjunction with oil production be put in pipelines for delivery to market:

The Environmental Protection Agency would seek for the first time to regulate methane at existing wells nationwide, a move smaller producers fought for years. The move would place roughly a million new and existing wells under EPA methane regulation, with stricter requirements for new wells in addition to the first-time regulations for old ones. . . .

. . .  The rules would mandate what the EPA calls “a comprehensive monitoring program to require companies to find and fix leaks” across operations including wells, pipes and storage tanks. The agency’s plan includes provisions to encourage the use of new technology such as drones for more effective monitoring.

It would also prohibit venting off gas at oil wells, which producers sometimes do when oil is much more valuable than gas. The EPA would require producers to put that gas in a pipeline to be sold when possible to keep natural gas from being wasted. In 2030 alone, that would save $690 million worth of gas that might otherwise be wasted, the agency said.

Nice.

Hard to believe this isn’t on purpose. He doesn’t care what happens to your gas bill, your heating bill, your tax bill, your grocery bill, or any of your bills.

The Democrats have declared war on America, and right now America is losing. Big time.
