I would be more sympathetic about things that are “offensive to Muslims” if anyone at all was worried about things that are “offensive to Christians”. And if Muslims weren’t responsible for most of the world’s terrorism. They’re chopping people’s heads off on TV and we’re not allowed to “offend” them?

That’s Islamophobia, pure and simple. You don’t want to offend them because you know that will inspire them to commit more terrorist acts.

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) has canceled an event featuring Nadia Murad, an ISIS survivor.

Murad was to attend a book club event where she would discuss her book “The Last Girl: My Story Of Captivity” with students from the TDSB. The book explains how she escaped ISIS, which captured and subjected her to sexual slavery at only 14 years of age.

Well, yes, I can understand how Muslims might be offended that someone escaped from them and avoided sexual slavery at their hands.

You don’t have the right to not be offended. But Murad does have the right to not be a slave to you.

I hate people who accuse me of being an Islamophobe when they’re far more of one than I could ever be.

"That's why the reserve is made, to never miss maple syrup. And we won't miss maple syrup!" said Helene Normandin, the Quebec Maple Syrup Producers' communications director.

While it's hard to predict what next year's crop will look like, Normandin said they were already planning for the future.

"What we can figure at this moment is maybe the season here in Quebec will start a bit earlier in February, instead of March, and end earlier also," she said.

We are not in a situation where people are just dropping dead in the middle of the street and have to be picked up later by people with carts full of corpses.

Despite the fact that the supply chain across the United States continues to hurt American consumers, starting on January 22, the Biden administration will require nonresident truck drivers, as well as government and emergency response officials, to be fully vaccinated in order to cross the U.S. border.

“A senior administration official said the requirement, which the White House previewed in October, brings the rules for essential travelers in line with those that took effect earlier this month for leisure travelers, when the U.S. reopened its borders to fully vaccinated individuals,” the Star-Tribune reported.

This is insane. We cannot be this scared of this bug. We are teaching our kids to be afraid of their own shadows. This will not end well for anyone.

It’s Really Sad That Being ”Pro-cop” Is Something That You Have to Defend

They put a silly sticker up saying that they were junior officers. These are little badges given to kids by police, and they got one too. The alphabet soup group didn’t like it.

“Hi hi! Oh it’s just a sticker!” LenJo Bakes responded. “A couple of officers stopped in for a brekkie and gave one to one of our customers kids and I wanted one too! We were Jr. Officers for… as long as the stickers held on for.”

The 2SLGBTQ group responded by saying they would no longer do business with the bakery for its “pro-cop” message.

“Due to your pro-cop post, we as a 2SLGBTQ organization are no longer comfortable supporting you as a business,” they responded. “As such, we are pulling you from our event today for which we had ordered some cookies and squares.”

If you’re not comfortable with something cute and silly like this, I suggest you face the problem by taking a long look in the mirror.

Johnson said that the director of the 2SLGBTQ group called and said that they “would like to see a public post saying that I’m *not* pro-cop and acknowledging that a posting a photo of a sticker of a police badge on Halloween was *not* just a sticker, but a harmful symbol.”

A sticker of a police badge is a “harmful symbol”. Wow. You really have a twisted set of values.

Facebook has revealed that Radio-Canada, a French-language news service owned by the government-funded Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), will be serving as a “fact-checker” for the 2021 Canadian election campaign.

Would you want the White House Press Secretary to be your election fact checker? Even if they’re from your Party? Doesn’t that seem like a teensy bit of a conflict of interest? That doesn’t seem important to Facebook though.

And not only that, the CBC’s track record isn’t that good.

Some of CBC’s self-admitted errors this year include incorrectly describing the AstraZeneca vaccine as 100% effective in preventing the severe outcomes of COVID-19 in multiple stories, incorrectly stating that Saskatchewan Health Minister Paul Merriman had contracted COVID-19, and incorrectly reporting the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) had fatally shot a women in Edmundston, New Brunswick.

No worries. I’m sure this is the best for all Canadians.

Canadian Parliament Votes Unanimously To Recognize China's Genocide - Washington Free Beacon

Good. I wish our own government would do something to react to the genocide of the Uyghurs.

A resolution in Canada's parliament to declare China’s human-rights abuses against Uighur Muslims a genocide passed unanimously on Monday.

The 266-0 vote opens the door to further policy action from the Canadian government

And it passed unanimously. Some things transcend politics and party.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and most of his cabinet declined to attend the vote. One cabinet member, foreign affairs minister Marc Garneau, abstained on behalf of the government.

Trudeau previously objected to the use of the term "genocide" to describe the mass incarceration and coercive population control ongoing in western China, saying the issue warrants further study.

That’s just sickening. Frankly the kind of cowardly behavior that I would expect from our own President Joe Biden (D-USA). Just when I thought there was hope for Canada.
