When You’re a Democrat President and You’ve Lost the New York Times

SHOCKER: NYT Throws Cold Water on Biden’s Massive Infrastructure Bill | Newsbusters

Independent journalist Ralph Vartabedian wrote an eye-opening analysis for The Times critiquing the bill as extremely risky. He cited the major cost escalation problems that plagued one of Honolulu, Hawaii’s infrastructure projects as a case study for how the dilemma with “big infrastructure” is exacerbated when applied nationally.

Vartabedian said the “national spending spree fueled” by Biden’s $1.2 trillion bill “carries enormous risks that the projects will face the same kind of cost, schedule and technical problems that have hobbled ambitious efforts from New York to Seattle, delaying benefits to the public and driving up the price tag that taxpayers ultimately will bear.”

Talk about a buzzkill for media liberals like Joy Behar and New York Times economist Paul Krugman who’ve been whipping out the pompoms for Biden’s infrastructure efforts in past months.

Well, if Paul Krugman is for it, you pretty much know it’s bad. The man is a complete idiot.

But this is bad news from NYT. Going to be hard to pass BBB with this kind of headwind.

True, but Who Says O’Keefe Isn’t a ”Real” Journalist Anyway?

The New York Times Is Protected by Freedom of the Press. So Is James O'Keefe. (reason.com)

A state judge yesterday issued an order that purports to constrain how The New York Times covers Project Veritas, a self-described "non-profit journalism enterprise" founded by conservative activist James O'Keefe. The Times, which is challenging the order, rightly notes that it raises serious First Amendment issues. But the paper itself seems confused about the rights guaranteed by that amendment, implying that "freedom of the press" is limited to "the news media." That interpretation is convenient for the Times, but it is not consistent with what history tells us about the original public understanding of the phrase.

I would dispute that Project Verita isn’t part of the “news media” anyway. They’re doing what 60 Minutes used to do back when they were worth watching. Investigative journalism would be dead if not for Project Veritas.

And that’s why The New York Times hates them. That and the fact that they usually go after the people that the NYT works so hard to protect, liberals.

And Yet, Ann Althouse Continues to Read the NYT

Althouse: This NYT headline displays an unabashed belief that censorship is desirable and expected, as if the tradition of freedom of speech has evaporated.

With dismay, I am reading "On Podcasts and Radio, Misleading Covid-19 Talk Goes Unchecked/False statements about vaccines have spread on the 'Wild West' of media, even as some hosts die of virus complications."

Talk goes unchecked!

Freedom of speech is an artifact of the "Wild West," not the foundation of our republic!

Well, the New York Times is free to print such things, misleading though they are. The NYT is trying to induce private companies to undertake censorship.

She says she’s reading it with dismay, but not with surprise. So, maybe she’s finally learning that it’s no longer a reputable news organization. Maybe.

You Have to Wonder if This Was Part of the Goal From the Beginning

The FBI Raid of Project Veritas Turns Into a Massive Scandal After Privileged Communications Are Leaked – RedState

But what was so disturbing, besides the raids happening in the first place, was how quickly The New York Times knew about them. While O’Keefe was asked by the FBI to keep quiet, the Times knew within hours, pointing to a leaker within the bureau.

But while the Department of Justice requested us to not disclose the existence of the subpoena, something very unusual happened. Within an hour of one of our reporters’ homes being secretly raided by the FBI, The New York Times, who we are currently suing for defamation, contacted the Project Veritas reporter for comment. We do not know how The New York Times was aware of the execution of a search warrant at our reporter’s home, or the subject matter of the search warrant, as a Grand Jury investigation is secret.

Days later, O’Keefe would have his home raided as well, and sure enough, the Times once again knew it about it before anyone else. Are you noticing a pattern? Because it’s about to become as obvious as a neon sign.

This is a government operation using The New York Times as an accessory, to defame and destroy Project Veritas and James O’Keefe.

Don’t believe me?

Two days ago, a court ordered the FBI to stop extracting data from O’Keefe’s phones, which had apparently been seized. Again, all of this is being done under the allegation that…a diary was stolen. But then last night, things boiled over into outright scandal. The Times suddenly started publishing privileged communications between Project Veritas and its legal team. Those messages apparently came from one of O’Keefe’s phones.

And again, the Feds get an assist from the NYT.

This is deliberate collusion between a major media source and the government. It’s awful and sickening.

No, but It’s Time to Cancel the Times

New York Times: It’s Time To Cancel Classic Rock (freebeacon.com)

"I want to live in a world where I can be moved by art and music and literature without having to come up with elaborate apologies for that work or for its creators," Jennifer Finney Boylan, a transgender activist and author, wrote on Wednesday. Boylan urged listeners to scrap iconic artists and songs, including Don McLean's "American Pie" and the Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar," if the artists have personal flaws or their lyrics are not sufficiently "inclusive" or "just."

Then don’t apologize. Listen to what you want to listen to and be happy. If you don’t like something, then DON’T LISTEN TO IT. If you do, then do, and tell everyone who gripes about it to go listen to their own damn music and to leave you the Hell alone.
