Can We Start With the Horrible ”An Inconvenient Truth”?

Climate scientist asks YouTube to censor climate "misinformation" (reclaimthenet.org)

Honestly, I am kidding. I don’t believe in censorship, not even of garbage like Al Gore’s ridiculous fact free propaganda piece.

And in this case, the call for censorship is even more ridiculous. “Scientist” above, should have been in scare quotes. It’s from another fact free “climatologist”, Michael “Piltdown” Mann.

Prof. Michael Mann, the director of the Earth System Science Center at Pennsylvania State University, tweeted: “Hey @Youtube. It’s good you’re taking down COVID denial videos. Now it’s time for you to remove climate denial videos. They pose an even greater threat to humanity in the long term.”

Michael Mann, you’ll remembered was heavily involved in the email climategate scandal, where he was shown to be deeply involved in falsifying and twisting evidence to “hide the decline” in global warming. Amazingly, he still has a job. Of course, it is at Penn State, and they don’t have a problem with liars and cheats and corruption there.

He wants YouTube to censor those who dare to point out what a fraud he is. So, I understand the call, even if I find it laughable.

I’m consistent in my calls for Freedom of Speech, though. I wouldn’t even ask YouTube to censor idiots like Mann.

The Democratic Party Supports Slavery

Maybe it’s time they dug out all their old white robes and hoods again.

House Democrats Won’t Schedule Vote on Bill to Sanction Chinese Slave Labor (freebeacon.com)

Democratic leaders are walking back their promise to hold a vote this week in the House on legislation that would sanction China’s use of slave labor and ban the import of goods made using it, according to the legislative chamber’s vote schedule.

Democratic House Rules chair Jim McGovern (D., Mass.) promised last week after a meeting with Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) that the House would hold a vote this week on the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, a long-stalled human rights bill that has emerged as a flashpoint in U.S.-China relations. While McGovern indicated on Thursday that the bill would proceed, it is not listed on the House’s official floor schedule.

Stupid to believe they ever had any plans to keep their promises. They don’t care about slavery in China.

Democrats in both the House and Senate blocked the bill last week from being included in the annual defense spending package, sparking accusations the Biden administration is quietly lobbying congressional allies to oppose the measure. Climate czar John Kerry, among others, is reportedly concerned the bill would upset China at a critical juncture in the administration’s efforts to ink a climate accord with the CCP.

I think eliminating genocide and slavery is a bit more important than making sure we get solar panels from the CCP.

The ongoing delay is fueling accusations that Democrats are slow-playing the bill at the Biden administration’s request. The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act—which would prohibit imports from the Xinjiang region of China, where Uyghurs have been subjected to forced labor, mass surveillance, and detention camps—passed the Senate unanimously in July but has stalled in the House, even though it is widely supported by Republicans and the human rights advocacy community.

I don’t care where the request is coming from. Whoever it is needs to be drawn and quartered. This is pathetically weak on our part. Even the bill isn’t that strong, but at least it’s something. To show that we don’t even have the strength to pass this wimpy bill is telling the Chinese that they can walk all over us and we won’t do anything.

Are we a Superpower or not? I’m beginning to think the answer is “not”.

More on Biden and Kerry’s Cowardice on China

Senate Dems Blocking Measure To Prohibit Imports Made With Chinese Slave Labor (freebeacon.com)

Now they’ve got Schumer and co. involved also.

This is a disgrace.

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, a bill sponsored by Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) that has long been circulating in Congress and is backed by the human rights community and opponents of China's forced labor camps, was included in a package of 25 amendments to the annual defense authorization bill, according to a list distributed by Senate leadership on Wednesday.

But Democrats excluded the amendment from a vote late Wednesday night, after members of the party privately objected to it, sources told the Free Beacon. Earlier in the evening, Democrats tried to use a procedural mechanism that would have allowed a vote on the act but stripped it from the final authorization bill, according to a hotline memo from Senate leadership.

The pushback from Senate Democrats comes amid efforts by senior Biden administration officials to quietly kill the bill over concerns it will hinder the White House's climate agenda and limit solar panel imports from China.

Solar panels?

The Uyghurs are suffering genocide and slavery and we’re worried about getting our solar panels?

Here’s an idea. Let’s make our solar panels in the United States and tell the Chinese to go to blazes.

How weak can we possibly be? Why should any world leader respect this administration?

I go to a website often where I’m asked the question of whether or not I’m embarrassed that Joe Biden is my President. Heck, I’m embarrassed that Joe Biden and I are the same species.

And they’re playing political games on the whole thing. See if you can follow the twisted logic here.

The anti-slavery act has "been on the list of amendments Senate Democrats proposed the Senate to vote on that the Republicans have been objecting to … so you should ask the Senate Republicans why they're blocking the vote," Schumer spokesman Justin Goodman told the Free Beacon.

But in a floor speech later Wednesday night, Schumer claimed that the anti-slavery amendment was a "poison pill" that couldn't be included in the authorization bill because of arcane procedural requirements.

"If [Rubio's] amendment were on the bill, it would automatically kill the bill, because it would be what's called ‘blue-slipped' in the House, which means any bill that produces revenue must start in the House," Schumer said. "The Rubio amendment is a poison pill in the sense that it blows up the bill."

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act passed the Senate unanimously in July but has stalled in the House. Rubio reintroduced the bill as an amendment to the upcoming National Defense Authorization Act, in an attempt to force the House to finally vote on it.

Democrats blocking a Senate vote on the anti-slavery act "avoids the House having to touch this issue," a senior aide to Rubio told the Free Beacon.

"[House Democratic leadership has] sat on this bill since July anyway, so clearly they don't want to touch it. And this would avoid them having to strip it out … or voting to approve it, which they clearly don't want to do," said the aide.

“We support it in the Senate, but it’s the Republicans fault.”

“We support it in the Senate, but it would be ‘blue slipped’ in the House.”

“We’ve already passed a bill with this in it, and it’s waiting in the House.”

Sounds like Senator Marco Rubio (R=FL) just wants someone to tell House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-11) to get off her bony a** and bring this to a vote, so he’s trying to put it in a bill that she’ll be required to bring to the floor.

John Kerry Is a Chinese Puppet

If you can’t support ending Uyghur slave labor, you have no business being in any position in the U.S. government. I don’t care what your other goals are.

We All Knew This Was Coming Too

Business Insider: ‘Electric Vehicles Won’t Save Us — We Need to Get Rid of Cars Completely’ – Watts Up With That?

Paris Marx writing in Business Insider: “Making transit available within a 10-minute walk of people’s homes would not only encourage its use and create tens of millions of jobs, but could begin to transform our relationship to mobility. … There was a moment during the pandemic where it felt that change was not only possible, but was happening in front of our very eyes. Streets were closed to vehicles so people had space to move, and temporary bike lanes were thrown up to encourage cycling. …

We should seize this opportunity to challenge the past century of auto-oriented planning and emphasize walking, cycling, and transit use over driving. Not only would people’s quality of life improve, but if we’re serious about taking on the climate crisis, we need to significantly reduce the number of cars and SUVs on the road — regardless of what powers them.”

Head For the Hills. Climate Change Is Going to Kill Us All!

2021 edition.

50 years of predictions that the climate apocalypse is nigh (nypost.com)

“We have ten years to stop the catastrophe,” said the UN’s environmental protection boss. That’s one of the headlines collected by Bjorn Lomberg, author of “False Alarm: How Climate Change Panic Costs Us Trillions, Hurts the Poor, and Fails to Fix the Planet.”

Oh no. That sounds awful. But…hold on. Ohhhh. That’s from 1972.

The piece quotes Mostafa K. Tolba, executive director of the United Nations environmental program, as saying that if things aren’t fixed by the turn of the century — the year 2000 — the world would face “an environmental catastrophe which will witness devastation as complete, as irreversible, as any nuclear holocaust.’’

That’s from 1982.

In 1989, a senior UN environmental official shaved a year off that dire prediction, saying that if we didn’t fix climate change by 1999, we would have “Global disaster, nations wiped off the face of the earth, crop failures”:

1989.

Britain is plunged into a “Siberian” climate by 2020

2004.

Rajendra Pachauri, head of the UN climate panel, said, “If there is no action before 2012, that’s too late”:

2007.

the UN said “only 11 years left to prevent irreversible damage from climate change”:

From 2019. Now, admittedly, only 2 years have passed since then. We still have 9 years to prove them right, but considering the track record, I’m not heading for the hills quite yet.

They need Melody Anderson o their side.

We’re All Gonna Die! And This Time We Really Mean It!

World Ends. Women and Minorities Hardest Hit.

Pelosi Says Women Face Particular Dangers From Climate Change (dailysignal.com)

I guess they’re shorter, so the floodwaters will reach them sooner.

Oh wait. I’m short. Uh-oh.

What exactly did she say?

“[Climate change] is the existential threat of our time,” Pelosi remarked Tuesday at COP26, the ongoing United Nations climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland, according to The New York Times. “It’s a threat multiplier that amplifies and accelerates existing inequities. Eighty percent of people displaced by climate change globally are women.”

The information cited by Pelosi appeared to originate from a 2018 U.N. report that referenced the 80% figure, but it is unclear which study the statistic came from. The report further concluded that women tend to be harmed more than men during cataclysmic climate events because they remain in the home while men are “out in the open” and cultural gender roles “sometimes limit women’s abilities to make quick decisions.”

805 of those displaced are women. Huh? I’m sorry, I’m gonna need some actual evidence before I accept such a ridiculous claim. And, as the article notes, that statistic is backed up by, well, nothing at all.

Nope. I call BS. I need proof. Otherwise I’ll just assume you’re lying. Which does seem more likely.

But We Can’t Trust Client Change Skeptics Papers Because They’re Not Peer-Reviewed

Science Publisher Retracts 44 Papers for Being Utter Nonsense – Watts Up With That?

Define “utter nonsense”?

Here’s some titles:

“Simulation of sea surface temperature based on non-sampling error and psychological intervention of music education”; “Distribution of earthquake activity in mountain area based on embedded system and physical fitness detection of basketball”; “The stability of rainfall conditions based on sensor networks and the effect of psychological intervention for patients with urban anxiety disorder.” A complete list of the retracted papers can be found here.

These were all “peer-reviewed” papers.

Have You Noticed That the Left’s Answer to All Problems Is ”More Government Power and Less Individual Freedom”?

Al Gore proposes mass surveillance to find climate change culprits (reclaimthenet.org)

Ye Gods, it’s like we’re living in the Soviet Union in the 70s.

In an interview on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports, he touted the Climate TRACE technology, saying it would help reveal the identities of those responsible for greenhouse gases emissions. The government and climate change activists could use the data to hold greenhouse gases emitters accountable for “destroying” the environment.

But wait, it gets worse.

“And next year we’ll have it down to the level of every single power plant, refinery, every large ship, every plane, every waste dump, and we’ll have the identities of the people who are responsible for each of those greenhouse gas emission streams, and if investors or governments, or civil society activists want to hold them responsible, they will have the information upon which to base their action and holding them responsible,” he added.

Welcome to the surveillance state, where everything you do is monitored by the government and must be approved by them.

A Major U.S. Newspaper Is Calling for Censorship. Thomas Paine Is Spinning in His Grave.

Democracy Dies in Darkness, and the WaPo Wants to Kill It – PJ Media

While the Washington Post piously reminds us that “democracy dies in darkness,” it’s busy shooting out the lights: On Tuesday it published a lengthy call to Facebook to shut down dissident media, including PJ Media, because, you see, the non-Leftist publications are daring to spread “climate change denial” on the platform. Not just democracy, but also the freedom of speech will die in darkness if the Post gets its way.

Amazingly, Facebook so far is not playing ball.

Facebook, however, is not being cooperative, and not exercising enough censorship: “Earlier this year, Facebook promised to start adding informational labels to some climate posts, much like it does with election or coronavirus posts. But CCDH researchers found that of the posts they surveyed containing climate misinformation, just 8% carried Facebook’s informational label.” Nor does it look as if this is going to change anytime soon.

I’m sure they’ll roll over soon. They’re all on the same side and Facebook will remember that (or be reminded of it).

I’m Concerned About This

Majority in US concerned about climate: AP-NORC/EPIC poll (nypost.com)

President Joe Biden heads to a vital UN climate summit at a time when a majority of Americans regard the deteriorating climate as a problem of high importance to them, an increase from just a few years ago.

About 6 out of 10 Americans also believe that the pace of global warming is speeding up, according to a new survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago.

Despite all evidence to the contrary.

Seventy-five percent of Americans believe that climate change is happening, while 10 percent believe that it is not, the poll found. Another 15 percent are unsure.

Among those who say it is happening, 54 percent say that it’s caused mostly or entirely by human activities compared to just 14 percent who think — incorrectly, scientists say — that it’s caused mainly by natural changes in the environment. Another 32 percent of Americans believe it’s a mix of human and natural factors.

Climate change IS happening. You’re an idiot if you think otherwise. But climate change has been happening for several billion years, and will hopefully continue to change for several billion more. It was changing before the first human being appeared on the planet and it will continue to change well after the last one of us has died.

I’m far more concerned about inflation and the economy, and China, and whether or not my kids are safe at school than I am about the climate. And frankly, that’s not likely to change. The world will have to be in a wonderful state for many years before worrying about the climate even makes my radar.

YouTube Finds Your Lack of Faith ... Disturbing

YouTube partners with United Nations on new policy to strip climate change skeptics of income (reclaimthenet.org)

YouTube owner Google announced a new policy this week, where YouTube creators, publishers, and advertisers will be demonetized for content contradicting “well-established scientific consensus around the existence and causes of climate change.”

“This includes content referring to climate change as a scam or hoax, claims denying that long-term trends show the global climate is warming and claims denying that greenhouse gas emissions or human activity contribute to climate change.”

I really thought that we’d advanced since the middle ages. But apparently not. We clearly need a second Renaissance. Just think of YouTube as the Pope and climate change skeptics as Galileo.

This is not how scientific debate works.  This is not how freedom of speech works. This is how tyranny works.

You Can’t Disagree With Big Tech–Even, or Perhaps Especially When You Know More

Facebook Fact Checkers Just Censored Peer Reviewed Science – Watts Up With That?

[Journalist Alex Newman] interviewed us, representatives for the IPCC, and several other scientists for
an article in The Epoch Times.

People began sharing Newman’s article on social media. One of Facebook’s “independent fact-checkers,” Climate Feedback, quickly stepped in. This “fact-checker” website, financially supported by Facebook, TikTok, Google News Initiative, and others, declared the article to be “incorrect” and “misleading.” Facebook then began censoring any posts sharing the link.

Alex’s crime? He discovered two peer reviewed articles posted almost simultaneously, on global warming. They had very different conclusions. He interviewed people behind both papers and posted an article based on his findings.

Facebook censored it.

Read the entire article. It shows the dangers of censoring a minority scientific opinion.

Science can’t exist without debate.

The left hates debate.

They are the anti-science party.

FYI

The U.N. Says America Is Already Cutting So Much Carbon It Doesn’t Need The Paris Climate Accord (forbes.com)

But for the United States, the real value in this report is as an advisory that it need not join the Paris Climate Accord. This report is evidence that, instead, the U.S. should just keep doing what it is doing to cut its own emissions. The U.S. is the most successful major country at mitigating its own pollution, and the U.N. shows this.

According to the report, “the United States of America emits 13 per cent of global GHG emissions.” Comparatively, “China emits more than one-quarter of global GHG emissions.” The U.S. still contributes the most greenhouse gas emissions per capita in the world, but, over the last decade, the country’s GHG emissions have been in decline (0.4 per cent per year).“ Greenhouse gas emissions per capita in the U.S. are dropping precipitously while those of China, India and Russia continue to rise. With the world’s most successful economy (over $21 trillion in 2019), it is not a surprise that the U.S. pollutes more per person, but the U.S. is making great strides in changing this.

Huh. And all the smartest people told me that we’re killing the planet.

This is an actual headline at The Hill.

Biden's climate plan will not address gender and racial inequality | TheHill

Ok, even if you believe that gender and racial inequality are problems that need to be addressed, you’d have to be a complete idiot to think that a climate plan would be the vehicle for such a thing.
