This Is Actually Brave

Former Trump White House Chief Of Staff Mark Meadows Now Refusing Jan. 6 Panel Deposition (lifezette.com)

You know, he could easily accept the subpoena and stonewall, taking the 5th on every single question. Standing up to an abuse of power by Congress is brave. They’ll hold him in Contempt of Congress, which is usually pretty meaningless, but the Biden DoJ has shown the consider this more important than actual domestic terrorism.

According to reports, former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows is now pulling out of his initially agreed cooperation with a voluntary sit down for a deposition with the House Select Committee investigating the events of January 6th.

Apparently, as conveyed by a letter sent to the House Select Committee earlier in December, the decision to pull out of the deposition relates to the panel clearly not intending to respect the “boundaries concerning Executive Privilege.”

This whole “investigation” is a farce, and it seems like it’s about to explode in Democrats faces once and for all. They’ll get plenty of media protection for it, though.

Clearly True

Sentencing Of Jan. 6 “Shaman” Jacob Chansley Was Excessive (legalinsurrection.com)

“Without these enhancements, Chansley’s offense level would have been a 12. Given his lack of criminal history, Chansley’s guidelines range thus would have been between 10 to 16 months.”*  And because Chansley had been in custody for nearly one year, he likely would have been released with time served.

Instead, he’s going to spend the next several years in federal prison.

Earlier on in the case, in one of his filings with the court, Chansley’s lawyer said:

“It is no secret the Defendant’s image has become the media driven face of January 6. It is no secret the Defendant’s costume, fur, horns, bare tattoo ridden torso, and iconic dental perfection has caused Defendant to be the go-to image, day-in-day-out, for traditional and social media throughout the world when reporting, discussing, castigating, pitying, insulting, parodying, demonizing, supporting and explaining the events and people involved in the events of January 6.”

Exactly right.

It’s apparent that Biden’s DOJ viewed Chansley as the personification of Jan. 6 itself.  That’s why, instead of recommending a sentence that actually fit the evidence, Chansley’s prosecutors urged that the court adopt baseless sentencing enhancements.

Much much more at the link. This was a totally ridiculous miscarriage of justice.

I Don’t Understand Fauci’s Response Here

Fauci rips Cruz over Jan. 6 when asked about DOJ prosecutions | Washington Examiner

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases quipped about the Capitol riot on Jan. 6 when asked about Cruz, one of several GOP lawmakers who has attacked him.

"Yeah. I have to laugh at that. I should be prosecuted? What happened on Jan. 6, senator?" Fauci quipped during an appearance Sunday on CBS News's Face the Nation.

What’s Fauci’s point? That people aren’t being prosecuted for Jan. 6? That’s clearly not true. In fact, it’s quite easy to argue that they’re being over-prosecuted. But whether you agree with that or not, people are clearly being prosecuted.

Or maybe he means that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) should be prosecuted? What for? What did he do?

Or maybe he’s trying to make some link between the China virus and Jan. 6? Huh? What?

There’s just nothing about this statement that makes any sense at all.

And then this last bit seems particularly arrogant:

“Anybody who's looking at this carefully realizes that there's a distinct anti-science flavor to this…" Fauci said. "They're really criticizing science because I represent science. That's dangerous. To me, that's more dangerous than the slings and the arrows that get thrown at me.”

Le Science, c’est moi!

BTW, This Is What ”Domestic Terrorism” and ”Insurrection” Look Like

Ax-Wielding Antifa Member Attacks GOP Senator's Office, Dems Give Him Money, FBI Returns Ax – PJ Media

Far-left miscreant Thomas Alexander Starks, 31, of Lisbon, North Dakota, pleaded guilty to destruction of government property last April. Starks brought an ax to Sen. John Hoeven’s office in Fargo on December 21, 2020, and smashed  an intercom and glass door. The attack was captured on video.

Federal guidelines suggested Starks should spend 10–16 months in the hoosegow, but because he is a protected member of Antifa, he was sentenced to mere probation and ordered to pay $2,784 in restitution.

He even got his axe back.

Meanwhile, the “QAnon Shaman” got 41 months in prison. Meanwhile, there are plenty still languishing in jail, wondering if they’ll ever get their day in court.

I’m Going to Compare This Sentence to Other Similar Crimes

This is insane.

BREAKING: Judge Sentences QAnon Shaman to Prison for Jan. 6 Capitol Breach – PJ Media

“The United States respectfully recommends that the Court impose a sentence of 51 months’ imprisonment followed by three years supervised release, and $2,000 restitution,” a prosecutor’s memo stated.

The judge instead sentenced Chansley today to 41 months in the hoosegow.

“What you did here was horrific, as you now concede,” declared Judge Royce Lamberth. “It is the type of conduct that is so serious that I cannot justify downward departure.”

Chansley is considered to be one of the first 30 protestors to enter the Capitol on Jan. 6. He entered with a flagpole adorned with a spear tip (probably not wise). He posed for pictures after being asked to leave. He also made social media postings in Nov. 2020 declaring that traitors should be hanged. While in the Capitol he wrote a note for former Vice President Mike Pence that read, “It’s only a matter of time, justice is coming.”

41 months for dressing up and entering the Capitol and taking some pictures. This seems completely unjust.

Everything Done to Them Since January 6 Qualifies as ”Mistreatment”

Judge Orders Release Of January 6 Defendant After Inspection Shows ‘Mistreatment Of Detainees’ | The Daily Wire

Following an impromptu inspection of the D.C. jail, a federal judge has ordered the release of January 6 defendant, Christopher Worrell, over the mistreatment of detainees.

The surprise inspection of the jail by U.S. Marshals took place last month, but the report from the inspection was not made public until Wednesday.

Due to the findings, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth said he has “‘zero confidence that the D.C. jail’ will provide the treatment correctly and not retaliate against Worrell,” who has cancer, CNN reported Wednesday.

Lamberth called the jail conditions “deplorable” and “beyond belief,” ordering Worrell transferred immediately to another jail and then released home to start cancer treatment, the report outlined.

He has been languishing in jail for almost a year and has cancer.

Great job.

How long do other people from other riots sit around in jail waiting for their cases to be heard? I bet the average is less than a week. If we exclude people who were arrested for clearly violent offenses, such as burning down buildings or attacking people, I bet the average is less than 48 hours.

And yet that’s the description of almost all of the January 6 detainees. They were non-violent, committed a few small offenses, and went places they weren’t supposed to be. For these crimes, they have been held over 10 months. Without trial.

Justice in Biden’s America.

More Good News on the ”Insurrection” Front

Teacher forced out after January 6 photo wins seat on school board in Massachusetts | The Post Millennial

That photo was shared alongside the FBI tip line used for investigating leads into January 6 offenders. Lynch claimed that the FBI visit stemmed from tips called into that hotline.

Lynch accused those who shared the picture and FBI information of "slandering [him] as a domestic terrorist." He called the group a "digital lynch mob" who "decided they would take 'justice' into their own hands," according to Patch.

Lynch resigned from his position in February, writing in his resignation letter that he could no longer work as a teacher due to his personal beliefs.

Two Ha’s for the price of one!

Several Republicans who won office on Tuesday attended the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection in Washington, D.C., although all have previously made it clear that they did not breach the U.S. Capitol.

Three officials were elected to state legislatures, and five won positions at the local level, per The Huffington Post.

Congrats to these brave “insurrectionists”.

Prostate Yourself Before the King and Ye Shall Receive His Mercy

REPENT! Jan. 6 Defendant Denounces Trump, Self...Gets Released – PJ Media

Jan. 6 riot defendant Thomas Sibick wrote a letter denouncing former President Donald Trump and describing his own “shame, dishonor, and regret,” and after months of being locked away without bail, he was released on Tuesday.

Earlier this month, before writing the letter, Sibick had requested release — but was denied by US District Court Judge Amy Jackson.

Odd, that.

Under the terms of his release, Sibick won’t be allowed to watch Fox News or MSNBC, judge’s orders.

It’s Worse Publicity to Defend Unjustly Imprisoned Conservatives Than to Defend Known International Terrorists

Law Firms That Raced To Defend Terrorists Ignore J6 Defendants (thefederalist.com)

At least 50 high-powered law firms that went out of their way to defend foreign terrorists in Guantanamo Bay free of charge are nowhere to be found as hundreds of American citizens languish in prison for charges related to entering the U.S. Capitol building during the January 6 riot.

When foreign terrorists, including the accused mastermind who helped plan the 9/11 attack, were being held in the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp, law firms from across the country volunteered to represent them pro bono. Now, nearly 600 Americans face an intense legal battle over their participation in the events of January 6, and these same firms are leaving them defenseless. Not one of the legal firms that assisted Gitmo terrorists have helped any of those charged with ties to January 6.

That is pathetic.

The sad thing is that I can’t even pretend to be surprised by it. It’s completely disgusting, but not the least bit unexpected.

They hate us. They really hate us. Remember that. It’s not just conservatives. The left hates Americans. Remember that the next time you go to vote.

He Went off Script. Now He’s in Real Trouble.

Merrick Garland Debunks Democrat 'Insurrection' Claims About Capitol Riot – PJ Media

You’d have to be a complete idiot to think that qualified as an insurrection. But that word describes most of the people on the left side of the aisle on Capitol Hill.

I’m sure Garland got an earful for giving the Right an easy win here.

I Think ”Murder” Is the Correct Word Here

Ashli Babbitt MURDERED? Police Report Proves She Posed No Threat During Capitol Hill Riot (lifezette.com)

The truth is – only one person died that day, and Lt. Michael Byrd shot her. While the Democrats deem them, heroes, a newly released report showed no legitimate justification for the officer to shoot Ashli Babbitt.

The report, which the D.C. Metropolitan Police released, stated, “Sergeant [redacted] observed Lieutenant Byrd step back just after hearing the gunshot. He did not see anything in the female protester’s hands prior to the gunshot.”

If the officer was White and Ashli Babbit was Black, we’d still be having riots all over America about this. And Michael Byrd would be on trial for murder even as we speak. Instead, he’s on NBC and telling everyone that he’s a hero.

B.S. He’s a villain. He shot and killed an unarmed woman who was posing no threat to him or to anyone else.

And This Is How You Know the Outrage Over January 6 Is Fake

Whew, Occupying Government Buildings Is Good Again - by Jim Treacher - Who the Hell Is Jim Treacher? (substack.com)

The 1/6 riot wasn’t an insurrection, or a coup, or worse than 9/11, or just like Pearl Harbor, or any of the other ridiculous claims the Democrats have made about it. It was bad and it shouldn’t have happened, and the Dems who exploit it for their own purposes are a bunch of @$$holes. The two things are not mutually exclusive.

If you think they actually care about the sanctity of government buildings, just look at this crap.

I don’t believe anyone on the left is calling this an “insurrection” or that it’s the “end of democracy as we know it”.

So, tell me, yes or no. Is occupying government buildings in Washington, D.C bad? Is doing that an insurrection?

Yes, or no.

Consistency is everything. And it’s something that our “friends” in Washington, D.C. lack.

This Is 100% True and Ought to Scare Everyone

The Purpose Of The Jan. 6 Select Committee Is To Suppress Free Speech (thefederalist.com)

The final three paragraphs are quite blunt and worth quoting in their entirety.

If our news media had any interest in holding power to account, the headlines and coverage would have focused instead on how Democratic lawmakers on the committee, together with NeverTrump GOP Reps. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., and Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., are using their subpoena powers to target law-abiding Americans who wished to exercise their right to peacefully assemble and protest.

Let’s be clear on this point. Since its inception, the Select Committee has amounted to a show-trial for House Democrats and leading NeverTrumpers who are attempting to make examples out of ordinary citizens who dared to protest the election, just as President Biden’s Justice Department is throwing the book at anyone connected to the events of Jan. 6 to make examples of them.

The message is clear: if you protest, if you exercise your First Amendment rights for a cause that those in power have not approved, you will be targeted by the government, smeared and harassed by the media, and made into a spectacle — pour encourager les autres.

This is a direct assault on the First Amendment by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA-11) and her cohorts in the House.

Well, That’s Not Hard to Figure Out

Judge contends Justice Department biased against Jan. 6 protesters | One America News Network (oann.com)

That’s been obvious from the very beginning. These people have been treated far more harshly than the people burning down cities in 2020.

A federal judge suggested the Department of Justice has been biased in its sentencing of January 6 protesters. During the sentencing of accused protester Danielle Doyle on Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden suggested rioters in Washington D.C. and elsewhere during 2020’s civil unrest were given lesser sentences than those who participated in the incident at the Capitol.

McFadden added the Justice Department would “have more credibility if it was even-handed in its concern about riots and mobs in the city.” He also questioned why more protesters throughout the 2020 riots weren’t brought to court.

Most of us sane people are wondering the same thing.

People That Think That Last Year’s Riots Were No Big Deal, but the January 6 Protest Were an ”Insurrection” Are Completely Disconnected From Reality

No surprise that Traitor Milley is one of them.

Milley told Trump the George Floyd protests were no big deal (nypost.com)

The under-fire general — accused of going behind President Donald Trump’s back to contact his Chinese counterpart — wildly downplayed the riots when Trump raised fears they were “burning America down,” according to Fox News excerpts from the new book, “Peril.”

“Mr. President, they are not burning it down,” he told the alarmed commander-in-chief, according to authors Bob Woodward and Robert Costa.

“They used spray paint, Mr. President, that’s not an insurrection,” he told Trump.

Compare and contrast:

But when the Jan. 6 Capitol riot happened, Milley believed it “was indeed a coup attempt and nothing less than ‘treason,'” the book said.

He feared that Trump might be looking for a “Reichstag moment” and believed the attack “so unimagined and savage, [it] could be a dress rehearsal for something larger,” the authors wrote.

How can anyone possibly have these two completely incompatible beliefs?

Anyone that does, should seek professional help.

Quickly.

The Other Half Believes That Also. They Just Are Happy That’s True.

Half of America Says Jan 6 Protesters are 'Persecuted, Political Prisoners'. (thenationalpulse.com)

Peaceful protesters caught in the maelstrom of the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol are being held as “political prisoners” and are being persecuted by law enforcement, says a plurality of American voters.

The data, from a new Rasmussen poll, reveals that 49 percent of American “likely voters” either strongly or somewhat agree with the concept that the U.S. government is holding political prisoners. Forty-two percent are in disagreement, with nine percent “unsure”.

This means more people than not believe the January 6th protesters are being unjustly held by their government.

Let that sink in. A plurality of Americans thinks that the Federal Government is making political prisoners out of American citizens.

Think about that a moment longer.

For four years we heard about the Trump administrations abuse of norms. We heard they were autocratic and fascist.

Not once did the Trump administration even suggest that something like this might be a good idea.

This is what fascism looks like.

And you voted for it.

Pretty Sure This Didn't Make the 6 O'clock News

Introducing RealClearInvestigations' Jan. 6-BLM Riots Dataset | RealClearInvestigations

RealClearInvestigations has found that:

  • The summer 2020 riots resulted in some 15 times more injured police officers, 30 times as many arrests, and estimated damages in dollar terms up to 1,300 times more costly than those of the Capitol riot. George Floyd rioters were found to have used more sophisticated and dangerous tactics than did the Capitol rioters, and in some cases weapons of greater lethality.
  • Authorities have pursued the largely Trump-supporting Capitol rioters with substantially more vigor than suspected wrongdoers in the earlier two cases. Many accused Capitol rioters, unlike accused participants in the other riots, have been held in pretrial detention for months – with one defendant serving more time than the maximum sentence for the charge to which he pleaded guilty. Some allegedly endured solitary confinement and other mistreatment.
  • With authorities applying lenient prosecutorial standards in many major cities torn by the summer riots, the vast majority of charges last year were dismissed, as were charges in the Inauguration 2017 unrest. Charges have to date been dropped in only a single Capitol riot case.

Huh. Imagine that.

So, Biden was right. The Capitol Protesters were treated much differently than those at the BLM Riots.
