The Post’s reporters say they initially raised their eyebrows at McAuliffe’s calculations during a debate at the end of September, when he said there were 8,000 coronavirus cases “yesterday in Virginia,” but official records showed fewer than 2,000 confirmed cases. A week later, on Oct. 7, McAuliffe said 1,142 children were in ICU beds with COVID—when there were just 35 kids in hospitals, never mind intensive care. He then repeated that claim twice in subsequent weeks when, throughout the entire pandemic, Virginia has reported an overall total of 952 hospitalizations in children under 17. A spokesman for the McAuliffe campaign didn’t explain the massive discrepancy when it was raised by the Post.

Democrats are trying to scare people over the China virus. That’s been the playbook since the very beginning. If you’re not scared, then you might start to resist their power grabs. So, if the real numbers aren’t scary enough, it’s time to make some up.

McAuliffe has been making stuff up his entire political career, so this is old hat for him.

Once Again, These Accidents Always Seem to Go In the Same Direction

YouTube suspended then restored the channel of Novara Media, a UK-based left-leaning news outlet. According to the outlet, the channel was suspended without explanation and it had not received a warning.

“We play an important public service role and regularly feature interviews with politicians, human rights campaigners, scientists and campaigners from around the world,” Novara said in a statement.

“We are also regulated by IMPRESS in the UK. We call on YouTube to immediately reinstate our account,” it added.

Novara Media is an online-only news outlet that was founded in 2011 as an alternative to left-wing mainstream media outlets. Its YouTube channel, which was restored a few hours after it was removed, has 167,000 subscribers.

So, what did YouTube say when asked about the suspension?

You guessed it. “We goofed. Sorry about that.”

In a statement, a spokesperson for YouTube said: “Novara Media’s channel was briefly removed after it was flagged, but upon review, it was then immediately reinstated.

“We work quickly to review all flagged content, but with millions of hours of video uploaded on YouTube every day, on occasion we make the wrong call.”

Occasionally they make the wrong call. And always against the Right. Amazing streak of coincidences there. It’s almost as if it was on purpose.

This is a winning issue for the GOP, and one that nearly everyone cares about. We all have children or grandchildren or recently were children. Education is important to nearly every single person in America.

The GOP needs to pound this issue into the midterms. And keep pounding it until they can’t get any more mileage out of it.

Unless you’re planning on opening up about three dozen more docks and staffing them with dock workers, I don’t see how you can do this.

According to CNBC, the White House is “hopeful” that fines will “ease the intensifying logjam of cargo ships” waiting to unload at Long Beach and the Port of Los Angeles. Together, the two account for 40% of the country’s seaborne imports.

Carriers will have to pay “$100 per day for each container lingering past a given timeline” starting on the first of the month. Containers moved by truck will have nine days before they’ll start paying, and containers moved by rail will have just three days.

How?

I mean…how?

I don’t understand the logic here. It’s so bizarre that I don’t even know how to argue against it. How will fining a stuck ship for being stuck against their will make them unstuck?

Can someone please explain that to me?

That’s Because They Can Tell He’s Not on Their Side

One of Donald Trump’s major political achievements was his popularity with black and Latin voters. He doubled and sometimes tripled the numbers of former GOP presidents in this regard.

This is something the party most work on in the post-Trump era. Education and the old standby of family values, if presented properly, will help. The GOP has a real opening for education. The left has foolishly opened the door there.

Military prowess is prized amongst traditional men as a virtue. In the minority community military service can be a way to escape the dead end of multigenerational poverty, hence why minorities are represented in the armed forces to a greater degree than they are represented in the population at large.

Thus a virtual surrender, a bugout, a military humiliation like Kabul sits very badly with black and Latin male voters. It goes to the core of their views on effective, inspiring, and heroic leadership. It bespeaks not only a policy failure, but a sense that Biden is personally weak and geopolitically impotent. That is political poison to socially conservative males, who see military strength as a vital factor in national success.

This is all true. The question is whether or not The Stupid Party can take advantage of it. I have my doubts.

I Will Not Be Upset at All if This Man Runs for President

In many ways, he’s almost what the Trumpists pretend that Trump is, and he’s what the rest of the conservatives wish Trump was.

“So right now conservatives, we don’t have time for boneless wonders,” DeSantis exhorted. “You get elected to office, you need to be willing to stand up. Stand up against the press. … You stand up and you’re strong in your convictions, there are millions and millions of people out there that will be with you forever. The minute you go up there and you’re scared of the media, you’re scared they’re going to say bad things about you and you cave, those voters have no use for you after that.

He concluded, “So I can only tell you for me, I’m gonna keep walking the line. I am gonna stand my ground. I am not backing down. We’ve accomplished an awful lot in the state of Florida, but I can tell you this: I’ve only begun to fight.”

He really rips the media to pieces in this speech. And some of the right as well.

Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) fights almost as well as Trump. He doesn’t back down when attacked. When he draws a line in the sand, he means it. And he’s eloquent and understands politics. He speaks from the same populist guidebook as Trump. He’s deeper than Trump and more detail oriented.

He doesn’t relate quite as well to the common man as Trump does. He’s not a political outsider like Trump is. And he’s not as funny.

So, he’s not a perfect Trump clone. He brings some things to the table that Trump doesn’t, and misses some things that Trump has. I think he has a lot fewer negatives though and is more likely to be able to reach independent voters.

For some reason, though, I keep getting the impression that he isn’t going to run for President in 2024. Time will tell.

They Don’t Care About That or the Economic Effects of It

‘We Will Lose Several Thousand People’: Top Boss Warns Against Biden Vax Mandate | The Daily Wire

Raytheon Technologies Chief Executive Greg Hayes warned Tuesday of the thousands of employees he’ll lose due to President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate on all federal workers and some private businesses.

“We will lose several thousand people,” Hayes said during a CNBC interview, Reuters reported. The company is planning to comply with Biden’s vaccine order, set to go in effect on December 8.

Raytheon Technologies, which makes Tomahawk missiles, has a total of 125,000 U.S. employees, the report noted.

The top boss also said he “expects Biden’s vaccine mandate to cause ‘some disruption’ in the supply chain in a post-earnings conference call,” Reuters noted.

The vax mandate will cause higher unemployment as employees refuse to comply, and it will make it harder to hire new people. My company is already feeling the effects of it. I get asked if we require vaccinations in almost every interview. We’re a government contractor, so we do.

This is going to get worse before it gets better. And every day brings evidence that a vax mandate is less and less necessary.

The problem with this strategy is that I think it only works for the other side. Youngkin has not embraced Trump, has not had him in to campaign, and hasn’t mentioned him. Tying Trump to Youngkin is a stretch.

Meanwhile, McAuliffe can’t escape Biden. Tying those two together is far easier, and a serious problem for McAuliffe.

This Just Shows That Women Are No Longer a Protected Class

A few dozen weirdos protested at Netflix because of some jokes that made their tummies hurt and it was headline news. Right now hundreds of students in Loudoun County are protesting the rape of a student and subsequent cover up, and the media is all but ignoring it.
