A month after the Senate issued a bipartisan report flagging oversight failures by government contractors that house migrant children, the Biden administration awarded new contracts worth tens of millions of dollars to two of those organizations.

Awarding of the contracts prompted particular concern from Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee.

“The fact that taxpayer money keeps flowing without any guarantee of reforms or commitments to improving facility oversight from [the Department of Health and Human Services] is just unacceptable,” Grassley told The Daily Signal in a statement late Friday.

The Department of Homeland of Security (DHS) has given Congress the report on the number of illegal aliens that are in the U.S. on expired visas but has not disclosed the information to the American public.

The Free Beacon reported:

Under the Immigration and Naturalization Service Data Management Improvement Act of 2000, the federal government is legally required to prepare an annual report on the number of foreign nationals who are suspected of overstaying their visas. That report must also be submitted to the House and Senate as part of a bipartisan effort to better track abuses in the country’s immigration system.

Subsequent appropriations bills for the Department of Homeland Security require the agency to post these reports publicly.

Well, that’s pretty simple. DHS doesn’t get any more money until they produce the report.

“For whatever reason, it appears political appointees are not disclosing a report produced by career subject matter experts. It’s consistent with the Biden administration’s general hostility to transparency,” former Immigration and Customs Enforcement senior adviser Jon Feere told the Free Beacon. “The Biden policies are a slap in the face to all State Department employees—the message is that all foreigners can ignore visa adjudicators and stay as long as they’d like.”

Hostility to transparency. I like it. Very apropos.

As are his other points.

The Biden Administration has laid out the welcome mat for illegal aliens, and they’re not about to change.

Julie Gonzales, who co-sponsored the new Colorado law, said during a legislative committee hearing that words such as “illegal” were “dehumanizing and derogatory” when applied to immigrants. Gonzales said the legislation aimed to remove the only place in Colorado statute where “illegal alien” was used to describe people living in the U.S. illegally.

“That language has been offensive for many people,” she said. “And some of the rationale behind that is really rooted in this idea that a person can certainly commit an illegal act, but no human being themselves is illegal.”

Don’t care. Here’s a thought. You don’t like being called illegal aliens? Then leave. That will solve the problem for both of us.

According to U.S. law — a law that Joe Biden wants to change — people here without legal documentation are not “immigrants.” They are “illegal aliens.” The proponents of changing that term use the argument that “words matter.” They most certainly do. And that’s why there must be a sharp dividing line in words and meaning between those people entering the United States, or looking to enter the United States, who come here legally after having received all necessary documents to travel freely and those who do not.

Words do matter. That’s why I am steadfast on this issue. Using the word “immigrant” instead of “alien” implies a legality and a permanence to their status which is manifestly untrue. And removing the word “illegal” takes that one step further.

So, I don’t care if you have hurt feelings over the issue. I don’t care if you somehow manage to get the laws changed. On this blog you will be an illegal alien until the day I die.

163,000 Illegal Aliens Arrested at Borde in October

Apprehensions along the U.S.–Mexico border in October set a new record for the month, unpublished data obtained by The Epoch Times show.

Border Patrol logged about 163,000 arrests of illegal immigrants at the northern and southern borders, according to preliminary data that doesn’t include Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Field Operations (OFO). While arrests at the U.S.–Canadian border are typically less than 100 each month, the OFO has recently recorded at least 5,096 arrests per month.

While the total apprehensions are down from the previous month, they established a new record for October, easily clearing the 91,410 arrests recorded in October of 1999 and well above the figures seen during recent administrations.

And this follows a fiscal year that shattered every record since the Border Patrol agency was first formed in 1925, according to another report from The Epoch Times:

Border Patrol agents apprehended a total of 1,666,167 illegal immigrants along the southwest border in fiscal 2021—breaking all records since the agency was formed in 1925 (when 22,199 illegal aliens were arrested).

The left wants open borders. Don’t let them lie to you about that. If you don’t, then don’t vote for them.

DeSantis Keeps Using Biden as a Punching Bag

DeSantis said that the flights started back in May and that Florida law enforcement agencies are engaged on the matter. DeSantis said that he would like to put the illegal aliens that Biden drops into Florida on buses and ship them to Biden’s home state of Delaware.

“You know, my view would be, why don’t we, if they’re going to come here, you know, we’ll provide buses,” DeSantis said, “I will send them to Delaware and do that. I mean, if he’s not going to support the border being secured, then he should be able to have everyone there. So, we will do whatever we can in that regard. And we are absolutely going to do everything we can.”

DeSantis said that Florida was looking at ways of going after the contractors that the Biden administration was using to fly the illegal aliens into the state, saying, “we should be able to have consequences for those contractors and your ability to do business in Florida I should absolutely be curtailed based on whether or not you’re bringing problems or not bringing problems.”

Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has been on the attack against President Joe Biden (D-USA) since January 20th. It looks like we can expect three more years of this almost every day. Biden is going to be bloody and bruised. Will be interesting to see how long it takes for Biden to start hitting back.

In contrast, Ernest Ramirez has done everything life ever required of him. A single father, he raised his only son, Ernesto, working hard to give the boy everything he wanted or needed. Two months before the CDC announced that atypical cases of heart inflammation were a possible side effect of the mRNA vaccination for COVID-19, particularly in young men, Ernesto received the government-recommended shot. Five days later, 16-year-old Ernesto died of an enlarged heart.

According to his father, Ernesto collapsed while playing basketball with a neighbor. Autopsy reports indicated Ernesto’s heart was twice as large as it should have been. Before his death, he was a member of JROTC and had played baseball since he was seven. His father reports he was healthy, with no heart-related health issues.

An enlarged heart is one of the symptoms of myocarditis. Between December 14, 2020, and July 16, 2021, the CDC reported the following in its analysis of the 863 serious vaccine side-effects, including deaths, posted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in children aged 12-17:

“The most commonly reported conditions and diagnostic findings among reports of serious events were chest pain (56.4%), increased troponin levels (41.7%), myocarditis (40.3%), increased c-reactive protein (30.6%), and negative SARS-CoV-2 test results (29.4%) (Table 2); these findings are consistent with a diagnosis of myocarditis.”

So, Ramirez and other families who did everything the Biden administration asked of them, by getting their teens vaccinated against a disease that posed them extremely low risk, get nothing but a permanent hole in their hearts. These families are not even being acknowledged by the government, other than Sen. Johnson. The CDC, NIH, and FDA ignore them.

Meanwhile, illegal immigrants who broke our laws, chose to leave their children behind, and continued to reject reunification at home, stand to be rewarded.

At the conclusion of his testimony, Ramirez said, “I love my country. I don’t trust my government.” Who can blame him, when it puts the suffering of foreigners ahead of the pain of its own citizens?

That’s a question I’d like to see asked at a press conference. Why does this administration put the suffering of foreigners who have violated our laws to get here ahead of the pain of its own law-abiding citizens?

I am guessing we’ll never get an answer to that.

But, according to a new poll from the Trafalgar Group, 66.9 percent of Americans disapprove of Biden’s plan to compensate illegal immigrants separated from their families at the border $450,000 each for “psychological trauma.”

Opposition to the plan isn’t partisan either. 45.8 percent of Democrats disapprove of the plan, compared to 36.4 percent who approve. Republican opposition to the plan was the strongest, coming it as 88.1 percent, and 67.5 percent of those without party affiliation disapprove of the plan.

You don’t get much better than 66.9% on whether or not Elvis is really dead. But Biden’s plan certainly is.

DeSantis vs. Biden Is an Unfair Fight

Even with the “power of the Presidency” behind Biden, he’s ridiculously outmatched.

In an interview on Thursday, Texas Rep. Troy Nehls (R) praised the undertaking, saying that Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas) has found a resourceful way to curb the approaching caravan. He said they’re strategically placing the containers to channel migrants into areas where more police and Border Patrol agents are available.

“It’s a tool that the governor is using to try to help slow down, curb this invasion, this invasion that we’re seeing at our southern border,” said Nehls.

There is a total of 1,250 miles of border in Texas. Nehls said it’s a lot of area to cover, but Texas is doing the federal government’s job for them because they refuse to do it on their own.

I applaud Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) for doing this. I hope other states follow suit.

Ah. But there’s a catch. Maybe they do have the right. He was detaining them at an ICE center. And it was ICE telling him to stop. Conceivably he could detain them somewhere else.

He recalled the county’s 287(g) program contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The 287(g) program is named for the section of the Immigration and Nationality Act that promotes partnerships between federal, state, and local governments to enforce federal immigration law.

“Sheriff, we’ve got some bad news. We’re shutting down your 287(g) program,” he recalled the ICE official saying in the May conversation.

“We’ve been doing this for 25 years. We’ve never failed an audit. Why would you be doing this?” the sheriff responded.

“Well, we are talking about retooling things and we don’t think we need as many beds,” the ICE official responded, according to the sheriff.

Basically, ICE was telling him that they’re not going to do their jobs, so they would appreciate it if he didn’t either.
