This Is What Happens When Your Stated Mission Is to Inform, but You’re Incapable of Telling the Truth

New study shows trust in media is in "free fall" (reclaimthenet.org)

According to the IBD/TIPP pollster, their alternative media counterparts are not doing much, if at all better in the trust department, which dovetails neatly with a recent Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism paper that said the US was the lowest ranked country when it comes to the number of those who trust most news most of the time – only 29%.

If I worked in this industry, I would be doing whatever possible to regain trust. I’d be more careful about not rushing to judgment. I’d produce objective pieces. And I’d work to eliminate my personal biases from stories wherever possible.

The media seems to be doing the opposite of that. Frankly, i expect these numbers to continue to decline.
