Sadly, This Was All Too Predictable

GOP Civil War? Perkins calls for McDaniel to step down – PJ Media

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins called for RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel to step down after she recently formed a “Pride Coalition” with the Log Cabin Republicans.

Perkins believes that if the Republican Party continues down this path it will lose votes from Christians and social conservatives. He claimed that McDaniel apparently took this step “on her own,” without consulting RNC leaders.

Perkins is correct. But I think that’s a weakening coalition. And kowtowing to it pretty much ensures that Republicans won’t win any elections.

The new coalition was announced last weekend at Mar-a-Lago, where the Log Cabin Republicans honored the chairwoman and former first lady Melania Trump. Former President Donald Trump also attended.

“Conservatives in Log Cabin don’t just share our vision for a free, secure and prosperous America — they enrich it by adding unique perspectives to our party and recruiting even more diverse candidates and supporters to join our cause,” McDaniel said at the event. “The RNC is launching our first-ever RNC Pride Coalition, which will work alongside our other coalition groups to invest in communities and mobilize support for the upcoming Midterms.”

It’s not a coincidence where this was launched. President Donald Trump (R-USA) was the most gay-friendly President we’ve ever had, from either party. He supported gay marriage long before any major Democrat did. This is a statement about Trump’s vision for the future of the party.
